N-400 NYC Federal Plaza Timeline
Hi everyone, I have just received the letter for my oath ceremony and wanted to share my timeline:)

10/05/2017 PD for my N-400 application
11/01/2017 Biometrics

Then nothing happened for 10 months...

08/01/2018 In line for an interview
08/13/2018 Interview scheduled
09/19/2018 Naturalization interview at NYC federal plaza (see below for details)
10/23/2018 Oath ceremony scheduled
10/26/2018 Letter received earlier today
11/15/2018 Oath has been scheduled for this date

The entire process is taking me about 13 months. My interview went smoothly, however I had to wait for three hours after my scheduled time, because the officer didn't find me at first (though I was sitting in the room) and she interviewed everyone else before getting to me. The interview itself was very straightforward. My only issue was that I had travelled outside of the U.S. for 8 months on an academic exchange program. I did not bring any proof other than my parents' tax returns to show that we retained our residency. The officer asked me to submit additional documents that specifically address the nature of my travel. She told me that I could submit the documents on the next day to avoid any delay on my application. However I received the "recommended for approval" certificate on the spot, so I assumed that everything should be fine once I submitted the additional documents (the officer asked for passport photos as well)...And I went back to the office to submit everything the next day. The officers working at federal plaza are all very nice and helpful. Overall it was a great experience.

Now I'm very excited for my oath ceremony, and good luck to everyone!

Pending "speeding ticket" two weeks before citizenship interview
Hello everyone,

My situation is about "pending speeding ticket". Actually, my citizenship interview will be happen on 10/29/2018. But I got a speeding ticket two weeks ago and the ticket is not posted on system yet.

I also hired the traffic lawyer to help me take care of the ticket.

Anyone having same experiences? What should I answer if the IO asks me about citation question on the form n400 (question #23, have you ever....)

Thanks!
