Take Greencard/Foreign Passport?
Good day! I asked mspeaceful this question, but do they take your greencard/passport away from you at any time during the process?

I will be taking a foreign trip around the time I'll likely be called. Do they take your greencard/foreign passport or punch holes in them at any point, as I probably won't go through the US passport process prior to travel.

Can you still travel with those documents prior to getting your US passport?

Oath ceremony for name changers
Area: Fairfax, VA
9/19/2018 - Got an interview and approved on the same day. Status: oath ceremony will be scheduled

Now I am still waiting for the oath ceremony. There is no status change. I request to change my name, thus it can take more time.

Does anyone request for a name change at NOVA (Fairfax, DC) area? This oath ceremony held every 3rd Thursday a month at Alexandria courthouse. I heard that someone took an interview in July and oath schedule was Oct 18th, but it has been cancelled due to unpredictable circumstance.

Here northern Virginia does not be affected by the hurricane, thus I do not know why that oath ceremony has been cancelled. I am worried that my oath also will be delayed due to this situation.

Naturalization Experience
First of all i would like to thank the administrators of this site and the rest of the members who help each other by posting their valuable experiences throughout the naturalization process. It helps alot in preparing oneself for the future........My timeline.. PD. n400 online filing in Boston. 06/22/18. Biometrics 07/16/18. Interview 10/18/18....regarding my interview yesterday at JFK building Boston i went an hour early just be on the safe side hall wasnt too full .there was a reception in front of the door on the left side they were taking in the infopass people and on the right the lady recieved my interview letter and asked me to to wait for my name to be called .....again not many people waiting after 15 to 20 minutes my name was called the IO was friendly started the conversation while leading me to the office.Briefly i would mention he was crystal clear, friendly and professional , only asked me (after taking oath) for my passports green card and ID in my case it was my driving license.Reading ,writing background check , 6 questions from the book i answered all correct followed by all the no no and yes yes questions from our n400 form.AS one proceeds through the interview one gets the idea that one is in the right direction and might get approved ......i was and finally given the congrats notice and passed box tick marked.I had taken all the original documents and their photocopies but none was asked and no foto graphs which i kept with me .....during the interview my foto was taken and index finger print both hands ... Finally i read and signed the notice on the tablet and was done in 20 to 30 minutes ,,,,,,,,,,The staff at Boston office is friendly and they are not there to scare you away......I will be sent a notice in 7 to 10 days time to attend the ceremony in Faneuil hall .Today 7 am i got 2 emails 1 i attended the interview 2. My application was approved......
