Interview letter
How long did it take you to receive a letter in the mail after your status changed to "the interview was scheduled"?

Also, what's the timeframe between status change and actual interview, is it +/-30 days?

(I'm in Brooklyn, NY if that has any impact)

What will happen to my interview ?
Hi, guys it’s my first tine writing in this forum but I been reading it for a while , I been living here for almost 11 years and filed my application December 21 if last year (2017) after long wait I will have my interview appointment September 14th .
Today I woke up with the news that trump administration making proposal to have new law if applicant for green card or citizenship used any benefits like Obama care or cash programs etc will be harder to get citizenship. My appointment in 5 weeks and if the president sign the new law in the coming weeks then what will happen ? I made a mistake and had Medicaid when I couldn’t get insurance and I needed to go to the hospital , I’ve never had any other benefits and been paying my taxes . Reading about the new scared me . Do you think it will be effective immediately? Please share your thoughts thanks .

Interview experience Houston office today.
Hello guys, I just want to share with you my interview experience today . As I shared before , I have a class B misdemeanor theft on my record (14yrs ago). Got there 30mns early since they have a crazy line but was called 10mns before my interview time, the officer swore me, took the test (passed) then he proceeded to my application, asked me questions that I have already answered on my application then we got to the arrest, he asked if I have been arrested, cited etc... I said yes then he went the next question without asking me anything else about the arrest so I started to sweat like a pig, I was like "oh crap he didnt even bother to ask for details, that mean I'm denied" then at the end he told me I was approved and should be on the lookout for the date and time for naturalization which will be this month or next month. He Congratulated me and gave me my green card back . By the way I only took with me what they ask for ID, GC, Passport. So for those of you in a similar boat as far as having a record please dont be scared because I was, I almost abandoned my application due to fear of denial . Good luck everyone

US passport and SSN after Oath Ceremony
Finally, I gor the Oath Ceremony letter!

Question to people who already became U.S.citizens.

It is advised after the naturalization ceremony to apply for the US passport and to update your Social Security record at a local office of the Social Security Administration (SSA). Please wait at least ten days after your ceremony before going to the SSA to ensure that data reflecting your naturalization has been updated.

What should I do first- applying for a passport or updating ssn? Will the ssn NUMBER be changed during this update and will I get a new ssn card? (Idid not change name during naturalization, I have green card and ssn car. Green card will be taken , what about ssn card?)
