St. Louis N-400 Experience
My wife and I learned so much from this wonderful forum that I promised to share our experience to give back to this community. I sincerely hope that sharing our experience will be helpful to others.

From the time of mailing the N-400 application package out to USCIS to my wife receiving the Passport in her hand, it took just over 8 months. My wife was certainly fortunate to go through quite a smooth process even though the St. Louis office processing times were showing very long wait times. I highly recommend that you submit a cover letter listing out all of the items, even though this is not a strict requirement. There are a lot of factors that can affect the processing time, however, I think itemizing attachments very systematically and carefully, as well as using a cover letter probably helped my wife.

Here is the timeline of my wife's experience:

09/15/2017 - Mailed the N-400 Application Package by USPS from St. Louis to the USCIS Lock Box in Chicago

09/18/2017 - N-400 Application Package Reached the USCIS Lock Box in Chicago - Priority Date Was Assigned

09/19/2017 - Credit Card Charged Based on G-1450 Form that was Submitted in the N-400 Application Package

09/29/2017 - Biometrics Appointment Letter Received in St. Louis

10/11/2017 - Biometrics Appointment Completed in St. Louis

10/23/2017 - "Case Is In Line For Interview" Case Status Online

02/01/2018 - "Interview Was Scheduled" Case Status Online

02/05/2018 - Interview Notice Letter Received in St. Louis

03/20/2018 - Interview Completed in St. Louis - Recommended for Approval

04/19/2018 - "Oath Ceremony Notice Was Mailed" Case Status Online

04/20/2018 - Oath Ceremony Notice Letter Received in St. Louis

05/18/2018 - Oath Ceremony at the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site in St. Louis

05/18/2018 - Mailed the Expedited Passport Application by USPS from St. Louis to the National Processing Center in Philadelphia

05/19/2018 - Passport Application Reached the National Processing Center in Philadelphia

05/24/2018 - Passport Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas Mailed the Passport to St. Louis via USPS Express Post

05/25/2018 - My Wife Received Her US Passport!!

As a Canadian, I learned a lot about my neighbour to the South by sharing in my wife's experience. It was a lot of fun learning about the rich history of the United States!

I wish each and every one of you the best of luck on this journey towards naturalization!

Finally It's Done!
Hello All,

It’s my turn to share my experience.

FO: Des Moines

PD: 8/15/2017

FP: 9/20/2017

Interview scheduled: 4/13/2018

Interview on: 5/24/2018 (Outcome: Approved)

Interview time 10:50 am, reached USCIS office at 10:00 am (went with my kids (11 & 5) as well); Even thou myself and my spouse had same time (scheduled) interview, they called us in different time & by different officer. Officers were so nice & polite.

Word of advice – Be cool & relax; believe in you! be honest with your answers. Engage them with some small conversations (whenever you get an opportunity) – so that both fell comfortable. If you have any upcoming travel plans, please mention them towards the end – so that the can schedule the oath ceremony accordingly (sometime help pre-pone the oath ceremony).

I know some of you are looking for your day… share your experience & keep encouraging each other! God bless you all!
