Los Angeles County Naturalization Interview
I had my interview today in the Federal Building in DTLA. Timeline Below:
07/17/2017 Priority Date
08/04/2017 Biometrics (Walk-In)
09/18/2017 In Line for Interview Notice
04/02/2018 Interview Scheduled Notice
05/07/2018 Interview
My appointment was scheduled at 9:00 am. I checked in at 8:35 am and wasn't called-in until 9:20 am.
I walked into the interviewer's office and was sworn in.
We first did the English test.
I was asked to read: Columbus Day is a Federal Holiday observed in the US.
I was asked to write: We observe Columbus Day in October.
We then did the Civics Test. I had the following questions:
- What does the President's Cabinet do? They advise the president.
- How many justices are there? Nine
- We elect Senators for how many years? Six
- Name one branch of government. Congress
- What did the Declaration of Independence do? Declare Independence from Britain
- If both the President and the Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President? Speaker of the House.
We then went through the N-400 application with no incidence.
The IO then told me that he was recommending my application for approval.
All in all, I was in his office for no more than 15 minutes.
I'm now just waiting to receive my Oath Ceremony Notification.

How to reschedule Citizenship Interview?
hell Experts,
is there any we can reschedule if you are not available in US, is there online rescheduling process?
By the time i get an interview i might be in INDIA, only able to see online status. is that rescheduling for later date is only via manual process, like filling the form and sending it to USCIS? Please let me know.

long processing times
A while back it used to be usually around 5 months and you are done with this whole naturalization process. I saw a lot of my friends do it and never did i see it take long like i've seen on most peoples experiences here. Its frustrating.

how reschedule interview?
How to reschedule an interview when i will be outside the USA? My husband who is American will stay here but i have to go to Europe... I hope i will come back before my interview but i am not sure about that.. So far i don't have any interview notice but i expect that in July.

I also applied for my greencard renewal this January through electronic filing, and got it within 3 weeks. So it seems electronic filing may be faster.
This is a great country, I will vote and happily sit in any jury duty, these are the least I can do, and I will always remember to be kind to all immigrants...

Oath ceremony
Does anyone knows the Oath ceremony schedule for Tampa for May..How many ceremonies do they have per month? I saw judicial Ceremony schedule for May 21 .Does Tampa has administrative ceremonies as well?
