Waiting for Oath Ceremony Fairfax/DC/Alexandria
Hi all,

So here's a timeline of my case thus far:
- Applied N-400 Online: September 30, 2017
- Biometrics Scheduled: October 6, 2017
- Biometrics Completed: October 16, 2017
- Interview Scheduled: November 28, 2017
- Interview Completed: January 2, 2017 (passed exam, told by officer it should take 4-6 weeks)
- Still waiting in line for oath ceremony

When I called USCIS, the representative told me that I have been placed in line for an oath ceremony. I tried to talk to someone higher and was put in-line for a callback but did not get one. I feel like this is taking too long and I really need a U.S. passport to travel by July. I'm thinking that maybe what's delaying it is the fact that I submitted a name change request.

Anyone else in the same boat?

New Processing Time
WTF..!

The USCIS has launched the new way of showing the processing time. It is so crazy..

My FO time is now 11 to 15 months..! it was about 9 months before today..!

I should have applied online but the system was down at the time.

So sick of it..! My green card interview process took about 3 years from the time that was my turn and now this..!

NY Filer
Hi all,

I have been keeping track of some of your experiences and have built a little spreadsheet to understand the average number of days between the priority date and the interview.
The results? well, i ranges quite a lot:
 166/275/173/25/133/307...days

*How is this possible? Do you know if there are factors outside of date that would make the timeline shift so much from a filer to another?

* Also, when I call the 0800 # to get status on my case, they mention something like: "as of February 15th, they were working on May 4th applications" - What does it mean "working"?
-They are interviewing May 4th 2017 applications?
-They are scheduling them for interview?
-They are finishing the oath ceremony?
If it is such a linear process, why don't we have all a linear timeline?

* I saw people mentioning that they are getting an approximate timeline for case completion when login in their USCIS site. Where?

Thank you!

Case Status Online
Hello everyone!

I’m just wondering if anyone can help me with this. I check my case status online on a regular basis. I have an account with egov.uscis.gov and myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov. When I checked my case status yesterday, the two websites are giving me two different updates:

egov.uscis.gov update: 02/26/2018 Oath Ceremony will be scheduled
myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov update: 03/19/2018 We scheduled your oath ceremony.

I also noticed that there are more updates in regards to my case on myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov compared to the other website. I called USCIS customer service, with no help. They can’t tell me why I am receiving tow different case status. Anybody else got the same experience as me? Which website provides the accurate case status?

I filed my N-400 via paper application. My field office is Jacksonville, FL.

NY Timeline
I have been reading this forum since last year. Thanks everyone for posting because you kept me sane during this process. Here is my timeline for NYC.

Applied May 17th 2017
Fingerprints June 2017
The process stalled till February of 2018 when I finally saw a change online that I was in line for the interview. Interview was scheduled for March 20th (yesterday) at Federal Plaza. I waited almost 3 hours to be interviewed. The entire interview took about 30 mins. She asked basic questions on my application (where I worked, my ex husband's name, where were my children etc. Then she asked me to write a sentence - "The people elect Congress."
Then she asked me to read - "Who elects Congress."
Then she asked me 5 questions which I answered correctly and she told me that I had passed the test.

She asked for my passport (old and new), green card, state ID. She then gave me a print out that she recommended me for citizenship. She was very pleasant and asked if I had any questions. I asked her how long to the oath ceremony. She told me about 2 months before I get the notice in the mail.

Thank God it is almost over. Sorry for the long post.

PD 06/14/2016. IOE - N400 based on marriage.

My really long journey is finally over. From my previous post, my original oath ceremony was supposed to be March 8, 2017. It got de-scheduled, no explanation. I have countless InfoPass appts before an IO really helped me with my case. I am in the Federal Plaza every month. I had 2 other oath ceremonies scheduled that got canceled before this final one (4 ceremonies in total).

The IO who helped me told me that my A# was accidentally entered in someone else's file so they have to verify in both end. I have experienced that my file was lost then found, then they upgraded the system so my file wasn't migrated to the new system (this took 2 months to update) and then USCIS conducted file audit then I moved but still scheduled my oath in the wrong borough -- sigh, this all happened between Feb 2017-2018.

I finally took the oath on March 16, 2018 in Manhattan. It was really nice that my husband was able to sit next to me all through out the ceremony. This forum really helped me when I was going through a rough time.

Can we rely on field office processing time by USCIS?
For Baltimore its showing 2/28/2017
But I know somebody that FP was 2/11/2017 and interview 8/20/2017( more than 6 months ago)

So is it possible they didnt do any thing in this period!
My Fp 10/17/2017 no changes after that (CASE WAS RECEIVED)
