About oath ceremony
Hi, all: NYC here
I just want to ask usually after the interview, how long it takes to get the oath ceremony appointment letter and to take the oath ceremony? What documents are needed for the oath ceremony ? Can I apply for the passport at the oath ceremony or I can only do so in a post office? Thanks!

N-400 Naturalization
This forum was really helpful when despair, excitement, nervousness and overwhelming were taking over my life.

I passed my interview and I have been approved for citizenship. My interview officer was very friendly, and helpful. We talked about his career with USCIS, his family and our interest. My interview did not last for more than 10 minutes. I had taken all my documents but all what he asked was my driver license, and green card.

So here is my two cents worth advice to people who are getting ready for interview:
1) please be there on time. Dress up appropriately. For guys, business casual works.
2) Interview Officer are people too. So, try to initiate the conversation outside your case. Such as, ask them if they are from the same field office? How long have they been working with USCIS. Ask about their family.
3) Be friendly, and have a proper eye contact.
4) When you walk in with Interview Officer, wait for his instructions before you sit down.
5) Civic test will be easy one. So, if you have prepared enough, there is no reason to worry.

At last, please TAKE ALL THE DOCUMENTS that is mentioned in your INTERVIEW NOTICE PAPER.
Good luck people. I am just waiting for my Oath Ceremony paper.

4/24/17 Fingerprinting scheduled

Since then, 21 days after, I haven't received my interview notice. I supposed to call USCIS if I didn't receive it in 30 days, but I called them today because we have a trip booked at the end of August. They told me that they haven't mailed the letter yet! Is ist possible that by the time I receive the letter , I missed the interview?! Please share your experiences! Thanks in advance!
