Infopass los angeles field office
Hi guys
My husband and i went to infopass today, first was my appointment, officer was surprised about delay on my case and he said there is a request for interview on my file since September 27/2016 which i don't know what does it mean?then he said i should sit until he can find out what is heppening?after 10 minutes he called my name and told me because my case is digitalized he does not know who is reviewing my case and he sent an email to his supervisor and waiting for her answer,i should go back home and wait for his call today or tomorrow.
I asked him is my file in their office already and is my background check is completed?he said it seems to him it is completed but he can't tell me more until his supervisor responds.
About my husband case another officer told his case is eligible for interview but interview did not schedule for him yet which we knew about this information, then all of a sudden she asked about my case i told her i have done my infopass a while ago,but she said if i want she can check my case also,i gave my information, first she said my case is alittle bit different with my husband!!!then after more checking said my case is also eligible for interview and nothing is wrong with both cases and we should be happy because atleast they did not forget about our case!!!!!! and our case is moving forward as she can see,she advised to be more patient and wait bacause there are too many cases in this office and etc......!!!!!
Both officer were nice but it seems nobody can tell what is the cause of this long delay exactly?!
I did not receive any call from first officer yet, i am so disappointed and don't know what should i do to expedite our case which i know it is out of normal processing time.
Just wanted to update you guys as i promise and tried to write everything they told us,good luck and god help all of us.
If you have any advice please tell me.thanks

Done and Over
I originally started reading this site around February 2017, I applied on August 2016 and completed the fingerprinting about 5 weeks later. Months went by, and quite frankly I am (was) often too busy to think about the interview, not that I didn't care I just simply had other things on my mind. I called in about mid March 2017, and finally by the end of March 2017 I got scheduled for the interview for May 11 2017.

I showed up with the items they asked from me to bring, and everyone was polite since I got to the building until the interview was fully processed. Got in and out in about 1.5 Hours because the interviewer has some technical issues that held up the final step. I took my oath on May 23, 2017 and received my naturalization certificate. Glad that's all behind me.

My advise: 1.- Study/memorize the 100 questions, you should know at least half of them anyway without studying 2.- don't volunteer any paperwork, only present what you are asked for. 3.- Dress semi formal, out of respect for the place and people you are going to see. 4.- If you wish to change your name legally, that's the place to do it, YOU chose the name, don't let anyone (wink) chose it for you. Once is done is done, from what I heard it is very annoying trying to change it again if you get it wrong while there. 5.- DO NOT BE NERVOUS, there's absolutely nothing to be nervous about, unless you are a criminal, which you are not obviously or you wouldn't even gotten to the interview point. 6.- If you don't understand a question you're asked, ask the officer to repeat it, do not guess what they asked, be certain. 7.- From the date you apply if more than 6 months go by, CALL!! do not be afraid to, I was told that "sometimes people let go a year go by before calling, so they don't get scheduled". 8.- Also double check and remember well dates and/or places you entered in your original application, you WILL BE asked some of them. All in all I assure you that if you prepare yourself well, there is absolutely NOTHING to be worried about. I decided to throw in my two cents in hopes that will make someone's experience easier. Thanks for the info everyone posts here, it helps a lot in keeping one's anxiety level down. Good luck to you all, you're are going to be OK!!

Any Input?
Sent N-400 on July 10, 2016
Completed Bio-metrics In August 9, 2016
Interview/test completed - February 10, 2017.

I passed the test, however the officer requested more information ( 2011 taxes), which she told me she could confirm it was filled, however they want to see it anyway. The officer gave me a fax number, and recommended me to fax the requested information on the same day to avoid delays on the case; and tentatively gave me an oat day of April 4, 2017. The officer also gave the request on paper, however the paper said I had until March 15, 2017 to send the requested additional information.
As the officer recommended, I faxed the requested information on the same day (February 10, 2017) and I also mailed in the same information on the next day (February 11, 2017).
I have not heard anything back since then... on the case status page, the last update is that they mailed me the interview notice on January 3, 2017. I live in Austin TX and interview was in San Antonio, TX. Any idea of the process timeline for an issue like mine?

So frustrating the waiting and the lack of updates.
Thanks,
