Normal processing time, Charlotte, NC
I submitted my N-400 paperwork back in December.

December 9 2016 - Acknowledgement that forms were received.
January 11 2016 - Biometrics appointment
January 12 2016 - Status changed to "We started the interview scheduling process for your N-400, Application for Naturalization"

It is now the middle of May and I am still waiting. Does anyone know how long it takes on average for an interview to be scheduled?

Update From Dallas,TX Long Line!

After long wait , since Feb 6, 2017 which my case was" In line for an interview " and after whole lot of efforts calling and emailing and so ..... , My case status has changed into " Interview Scheduled".

A quick summary :
Docs Sent : 9/20/2016
Docs Received : 9/28/2016
PD: 9/28/2016
FP: 10/11/2016
Case in Line ... : 2/6/2017
Interview scheduled: (on) 5/11/2017
Actual interview date : ?

So I went an extra mile for myself and found a few way and got hold of some Congressmen and asked them to follow up my case and they sent some inquiries on behalf on themselves for me to USCIS , after 2 weeks , responses came back which I ASSUME WAS GOOD!
Yesterday Personally I went to Dallas Field Office and mentioned my name and my situation and asked them to let me know about my interview date. So there was sort of resistance going on and were trying to refuse to answer but finally I got the date on my interview: It is going to be held at LATE June 2017.

So little hope that my efforts helped some.
Will keep you updated ... guys.

Peace!

N-400 Timeline at SFV Field Office
Hi All,
I applied around end of May, 2016. Got fingerprinting appointment about a week later. Did that. Then nothing...I attempted to submit case review, but the system didn't let me stating that my case is still under normal processing. Finally, around mid March, i was able to submit case inquiry. 3 weeks after I received a letter stating my case is under extended security checks and until all checks are done, they can't proceed. blah blah blah.
5 days later, I received the interview letter for 4 weeks ahead. I showed up to interview. Had waited about 2 hours to have a 10 minute interview. At the end, IO said I passed and that I should received Oath ceremony invite. I checked that evening online, and I can see that Oath ceremony was scheduled. I will update later.

N-400 Inquiry request reply
So after 9 months of waiting, and one info pass and two phone calls, on May 6th my online message said that a response was sent to the request for "case Inquiry" and that it was completed. I waited until today and this morning I sent an online message to the USCIS who replied promptly saying "Due to workload factors not related to your case, USCIS anticipates a delay in completing your case. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in the order received and in a timely and efficient manner. We regret any inconvenience that results from delays in processing."

Now I am wondering how to interpret this...Did anyone have a similar experience? Could somebody please tell me what this means?

Thanks for your help.

Regular delay or discrimination ???
Hey guys, how are you doing? Today I got question in my brain that, what may reason of N400 delays if you never faced or never had any criminal records or troubles in your past ?!! Either if you were lawabiding resident and you pay your taxes on time and absolutely have no problems. Sometimes I think some of us get delayed because of our religion or because of region of country where we came from. I do not know really I get confused why and what is reason. Please guys do not blame me too because almost 1 year I am waiting for answer and i've got paranoia almost without answer. (Joke :) ) And it is all my opinion and I do not blame anybody and any government or state departments such as USCIS. And purpose of this post is to get people's opinion and to come to a approximate conclusion about it. Although I applied for N400 on June 2016 and still I did not get call to N 400 interview and that is why I personally feel ignored person by USCIS. I again say that, I do not blame anybody and any government or state department such as USC?S. My goal is to get explanation about these delays and to understand with what logic USCIS works. I think unexplained delays hurt everybody. Let's share all of your experiences guys. Specially who experiences outside of normal processing time in his or her cases!

What to bring for interview ?
I just received the letter for interview on June 13th. I have two questions.

1. i had a speeding ticket back in 2015 June, do I need to bring anything to proof i paid the fine ?

2. Not sure what to bring for Tax return. I only graduated two years ago . I have only worked part- time less than 10,000 a year. I have never filed tax because I don't have to if it is under 10,000. Do i need bring anything for this ?

Thanks, I really want to pass the interview the first time . Any helpful comments will be appreciated.

indianapolis naturalization experience 2017
January 20, 2017: Application received
Feb 17, 2017: Fingerprint
April 11, 2017: Interview
May 11, 2017: online status says oath ceremony will be scheduled.

I guess this means that they don't have an oath ceremony date for me yet. Does anyone have any recent experience at indianapolis about how long it might take for them to mail me a date?
thanks!
