Hey guys, I applied for N-400 on May 14th based on 5 years, no biometric reuse, no biometric appointment and now, I’m getting this “we are actively reviewing your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, Receipt Number IOE YYYY XX”
Does it mean I’m getting an interview soon? Or I’m getting biometric appointment soon? Or it’s just a normal routine? Please advise.

N-400 Interview coming up - Wife didn't receive the interview date yet
Hello Everyone,
We had submitted both mine and wife's N400 applications (5 year based) on the same day. I got my interview scheduled yesterday for September 18th (Saturday) however, my wife's status hasn't been updated. Is this normal and do you know if it takes few days usually for getting her interview ?
On the documents to bring, green card, passport are the only 2 mentioned and I've read here on many other documents that we need to carry. Can you please help me clarify if all of the below are to be taken along as well ?
2X2 photographs
Copy of my passport
Wife's passport or copy
Birth certificates of mine, wife, children and copies
Green cards of wife, children and copies
Tax returns/transcripts of last 5 years
Proof of address - Driver's license, lease agreement, etc or any other document
SSN - Original and copy
Traffic citations ( had a minor citation for not turning on the signal while crossing)
Any employment based documents - paystub, etc?
Any bank statements
Anything else?
Really appreciate if you can help answer these questions as I want to get prepared and avoid last min hiccups. Thank you,

N400 interview got canceled
Hey guys! I was scheduled for N400 interview after 12 months from my filing date for naturalization but yesterday they canceled it. I was able to look on my online account and see the letter. It says due to unforeseen circumstances they had to cancel it and will send me a letter when they reschedule it. My attorney said it could be shortage on officers, power outages or covid related. Anyone has similar experience? I’m worried that they won’t schedule me soon and waiting time will get longer and longer again. Thanks in advance!

July 6, 2021 interview scheduled for Aug 12,2021
The interview was scheduled for 8am. The officer called my name around 8:10 and the interview lasted 10 min.I was out by 8:20 . 6 question and he moved on the application. He asked to show him my green card and my passport. He asked me when was last time I was out of USA and for how many days/ months as well as he checked that in my passport. He asked me my marital status and how many times I’ve been married. He than moved to yes/no questions. At the end of the interview he said you are recommended for approval and if I have any questions for him.
By the time I got in my car I received text message that my status has changed and I am placed in the line for Oath and by the time I got home which is 30 min I received the text that my Oath ceremony is scheduled for Aug 26, 2021
I am so happy this long journey is coming to an end
Good luck everyone who is still waiting. Just be patient and thing will come to you in the right time.

I filed n400 back in April 2021. Some of my friends have either completed their naturalization process or waiting to be interviewed. Anyway, I called uscis 2 days ago to ask what was holding my application. Although I had called them several times during the past 2 weeks but kept getting the same response that “they were waiting for my background checks to clear out”. Two days ago, I called again and was told that my background checks were good to go and that my application was at my field office in Chicago awaiting to be scheduled. I know I may sound crazy but does anyone know how long this would take or has anyone been in my shoes cos I’m trying to have a view of a projected time due to some upcoming events. Thank you.

I'm married to a US citizen and have been a LPR for 16 years and applied with the 5 year rule
About 8 years ago I took a trip out of the country for 2 years without a reentry permit, I returned and was allowed in without any questions by CBP
will this cause me problems. Do they care about your travel before 5 years ? Anyone had a similar experience?

I will share my story here, it might help somebody just like how others stories helped me.
Oct 5 2020 - N400 received (paper filing)
Dec 28 2020 - Interview day, Took about 45mins total and was successful
Dec 29 2020 - Recommended for approval
Dec 31 2020 - Placed in line for oath scheduling
Long wait
June 18 2021 - Oath ceremony was to take place, but got de-scheduled on the 17th at 5pm due to Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday
July 16 2021 - Oath ceremony took place, about 10mins and Naturalization cert and name change petition issued.
4 weeks before my oath, I scheduled DL and Passport appointments on the same day. Once I got my certificate, I went to the DL office and updated my info.
New DL was delivered in 2 weeks with new order of names.
After DL, I went to the post office with filled out Passport application and picture. They took originals of all supporting docs and I paid for expedited. 7 days after applying, status changed online to "In Process"
16 days after applying for passport, status changed to "Approved". 21 days after, passport was delivered in the mail.
I am still waiting for the return of the original docs. Next thing I will do is update my SSN. Since I now have a passport as prove of citizenship, I will hold on for the certificate to come, and then I will use that for SSN. That way I always have one doc handy to prove citizenship incase of job/other opportunities.
