Social security update after naturalization
I have completed the naturalization step recently. The ceremony documents say that social security needs to get updated and the naturalization certificate is required.

I do not like to use post to mail naturalization certificate (it will be a hassle to get replacement, if post misses it or if it incorrectly passes it to a neighbor). Due to Covid, I also prefer to minimize my visit to any public building.

Is there any issue, if I postpone my social security update to e.g. 1 year or more, till the pandemic status gets better? I do not want to do unnecessary health risk. Can it be an issue, if I potentially want to change employer (note: I do not plan to apply for a position that would be limited to citizens)? If the employer wants the citizenship proof, the naturalization certificate or passport can be provided.

Documents to bring to the interview
Hi All,

Can anyone help with this? What kind of tax return documents do they want at the naturalization interview? Are copies enough, or do they need to be IRS-certified?

How does one even get IRS-certified tax listings? I tried by mailing a request form to IRS and never heard from them.

Also, do foreign language documents need to be officially translated to English (court translator or some other legal translation), or is an unofficial translation acceptable, as long as the translator signs an affidavit that he/she has translated accurately?

Thank you, and hope for the best for all.

N400 NYC
Hi everyone,
I applied for naturalization 11/2020. Brooklyn (NYC).
So far I got the receipt in 11/2020. In 02/2021 I got my biometrics reuse. It says “6 months” left on the website.
Any NYC experiences you guys can share?
I know a friend of mine and her husband applied 07/2020, she became a citizen 03/2020 and her husband 06/2020.
Another friend applied 09/2020, she became a citizen 07/2020.
Please feel free to share any information/experiences NYC (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx…)
Thanks!

Hi

Applied - 10/02/2020
fingerprints reuse
interview scheduled - 06/30/2021
interview- 07/28/2021 Request for initial evidence

I applied under the 3 year rule which I shouldn't have bc my wife and I have not been filing together and to make it worse we file single. I passed the test and the officer told me that all I needed to do was to send in evidence and tax papers and my case would be approved. I was told by a lawyer that I will be denied just for the tax papers. I am so disappointed and wish I had waited until next year to file the 5 year rule.
