would like to share my bad experience with rediff auctions with you all so that any one who is planning to buy something from rediff auctions can use their brain cells before bidding.
I bid for two handycams on rediff auction on 23rd of March 2006 and at that time the closing date for the bid was on 24th March. At last I won all the two handycams.
Rediff sent me a mail stating that I won the bids and all the mobiles will be delivered within 7 working days (which is 04th of April 2006).
On 25th of March 2006, they debited my credit card for an amount of Rs.1952 which I was supposed to pay for the handycams.
On 27th March 2006, I received a mail from the seller (Gurpreet Singh of Esource Enterprises) and please find attached the mail below:
Dear Sir/Maam
This is in reference to your winning bid at Rediff auction.
We would like to bring under your kind attention that there was an upload error from our team with auctions starting on 17th march due to which all the products got listed with bids starting at 1Rupees and no Reserve price.
It is not possible to serve these orders & hence they cannot be executed.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused to you.
Warm Regards
Gurpreet Singh

Then I sent a reply to the seller on 27th March 2006 and my reply is attached below:
Dear Mr. Gurpreet:
The reason you mentioned in your mail is not at all acceptable and absolutely not my problem. Its your problem. I need all the two handycams which I won on or before 04th of April 2006 (7 working days from the date of close of auction).
As the total amount of Rs.1952 (Rs.976+976) is already debited from my credit card account on 25th of March 2006, the sale is complete.
So its better to immediately execute all two handycams (Box packed new handycams) which I won.
Please don't say any excuses. I don't want any excuse mails or calls from you. I want all the two handycams I won (on or before 4th of April 2006).
Warm Regards

On 4th of April 2006, they sent me a packet of chocolate (expensive chocolate) which my family members accepted without my knowledge as I was not present at that time.
I sent one more mail to rediff on 04th April, asking for the seller's (Gurpreet Singh) contact details thinking he is the one who withdrew money from my account. So far no reply for this mail too.
Knowing this, they didn't give any contact details of the seller. You can't find even rediff's toll free number or customer care number anywhere in the rediff.com website. The only way to contact rediff is through mail and I have sent four mail in the last three days and nothing is delivered to the customer care department and everything is in queue. What kind of service is this? So if you are planning to buy anything from rediff.com (shopping or auctions) please don't do that mistake.
When they are not able to run an auction site properly, then why the hell are entering into this business. I kindly request all those who are reading this mail not to buy anything from rediff.com and support them. They are not good enough and up to the mark.
Till date the money they withdrew (Rs. 1952) from my credit card is not reversed and when I called my bank they said it was withdrawn by rediff and not by the seller. Anyhow for sure i'm taking rediff.com and Gurpreet Singh to court.
SO I KINDLY REQUEST YOU NOT TO BUY ANYTHING FROM REDIFF AUCTIONS. THEY ARE SIMPLY CHEATING ALL OF US.
Warm Regards
