No L1 slots seen opening up in last few weeks for an early appointment
Did any one experienced that there have not been any slots opening up to reschedule an early appointment in Feb - June time frame for L1 visas in any of the Canada consulates. Where as many slots have been opening up for other visa types.

H1B Dropbox in Us consulate Toronto/Ottawa
Hey guys,
I applied for my H1B renewal stamping in Toronto Consulate, but they asked me to send my docs over to Ottawa as I do not live in GTA Area. My previous H1B stamping was in India, but I qualified for Dropbox in Toronto as well, since I am a Permanent Resident here.
I sent my documents to Ottawa on the 16th Feb from within Canada, and they were delivered on 17th Feb, but DS160 status shows "No Status" till date. The CSRA website also shows status as "Send Documents". Anyone with similar situation waiting to hear back?
I also contacted the Consulate over telephone, they said it could take 4-6 weeks for processing, and they did not know anything specific as to why my DS160 status still shows "No Status". I am worried that my passport may be lost. Any suggestions?
PS: I did not choose premium delivery

I sent 4 applications. Only one, the primary applicant’s went in Application received status on 24th Feb.

H1b stamping at Toronto Consulate
Hi Folks,
I had an interview at Toronto Consulate for H1b visa stamping.
I'm Japanese and live in the US. I visited Canada as a visitor (eTA).
When I tried to make an appointment in Canada in early February, I got a slot on Feb 22 by chance.
My timeline is like this:
Feb 21: Arrived in Toronto as a visitor
Feb 22: Interview. I got only a few questions, including job, current visa status, and expected salary. I mentioned an approved I140 in DS-160, but they didn't ask about that.
Feb 22: Status changed to administrative processing.
Feb 24: Status changed to Issued
Feb 25: I got an email that my passport had been dispatched to Canada Post office.
The expected delivery date is Mar 1.
Very straightforward process without any problems. Though my wife's visa status is H4 COS, she didn't go to Canada this time. My attorney advised us that it's risky to have a visa interview for H4 in Canada now.

I am a Canadian PR, staying in the US (Visa was still valid when I applied for stamping based on my extended H1B petition), and I talked to CSRA (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/niv) and they were ok if I could send my documents to my family (brother) for shipping & collecting through Canada Post on my behalf.

H1B stamping at US Consulate Calgary
I am a Canadian PR who recently got my H1B stamping in Calgary. I got an appointment for Feb 16 and had an in person interview. This is the timeline:
Feb1 : Got an appointment with US consulate in Calgary. Was not seeing any appointment till June 2023 before I accidently came across an open slot on Feb 16,2022.
Feb 14: Arrived in Canada
Feb 16: Had in person interview. Very simple questions on what I do in my current role, how long have I been in the US, and the interviewer recommended that I start my I-140 process in case if I want to work beyond the 6 years
Feb 16: The case status change to administrative processing
Feb 17: Status changed to 'Issued'
Feb 18: Passport dispatched to Canada Post
Feb 22: Expected date of pickup
Overall the process was smooth and simple. Most of you may not see any open appointments in Canada but keep checking regularly. That is how I found an appointment purely by luck. Before I got an appointment at Canada, I was also looking at Armenia, Bahamas other Caribbean countries and they replied they were open to TCN. Thankfully, I got an appointment in Canada and did not have to go to another country. Best of luck to everyone else!

How early can I schedule / setup a Passport Dropoff IWP at Toronto?

This forum has provided so many answers. I am getting close to my own journey. I am on WP in Canada, previous H1B Visa holder (most recently F-1 holder) and am eligible for passport dropbox. Currently i140 is in premium processing with expected response by next week.
Can I even start to setup an IWP drop box appointment now? Or does it not matter since drop boxes appts can be booked only once I get my i-140 approval ready? Do I have to book a DS160 also before doing IWP?
Would love to have someone experienced with Toronto IWP shed some light on the steps involved (i140 approval -> DS160 booked --> Then IWP). Thank you in advance!
