Hi All,
I have my H1B visa interview in Ottawa in a couple of weeks and I will be traveling there from the US.
Can you guys please share your similar experiences?
- Since I have booked a hotel there, I would like to know in how many days will I get my passport delivered at the hotel or Canada post office after the interview.
- Also, do I need a Covid test before crossing the Canadian border if I am Vaccinated and Boostered.

Hi All - Thanks for all the help here. I want to do my part now.

Jan 24th - Flew to Calgary
Jan 25th - Interview time 10:45
- Reached 30 mins early
- Routine checks and fingerprints, took a good one hour before I went to the window.
Interview:
Interviewer - What happened in May 2021
Me - Explained a visa waiver experience that I had at the peace bridge last year and showed documentation around it
Interviewer - Good that you carried the documentation, because system didn't have much written in it
Me - Smiles
Interviewer - How long on H1B
Me - Since 2015
Interviewer - Do you have an approved I140?
Me - Yes
Interviewer - Can I see it?
Me - I don't have it. Explained that the companies don't hand over the I140 documents to the employees. Explained that I completed at least one year in my last company, so they can't revoke my original I140 and the new company has started the I140 process already.
Interviewer starts typing, which continues for the next 5-10 mins without looking at me
Me cursing myself for not bringing my I140 printout
Interviewer finally looks up - Apologies for the delay, your visa is approved
Me - Thank you
Jan 27th - Passport dispatched
Jan 28th - Passport delivered at home

Toronto Interview Appointment - TCN Yes
Hi all,
I have an in-person interview in Toronto coming up in 2 weeks. I will be travelling from US and I selected TCN Yes when making the appointment. Does anyone know whether Toronto consulate is taking interview appointment under visitor visa at the moment? Would like to make sure they won't cancel my appointment because of it after I arrive in Canada. Thank you!

Toronto Consulate - Request for follow-up appointment IWP
Hi, I applied to Toronto consulate and received an email today informing that I need a follow-up appointment.
My email states, "The U.S. Consulate in Toronto has received your application submitted under the Interview Waiver guidelines. However upon further review the consular officer has determined that you require a personal interview. Your passport will be returned to you through Canada Post courier service. Once you have received your passport please proceed with scheduling an appointment by revisiting your profile at http://canada.usvisa-info.com/."
I do not see any available appointments. I have not received any other email from Consulate.
If you have also received follow-up interview request before, can you please share the email format, processor comments and if the consulate scheduled the appointment for you or you had to wait to find one for yourself?

I have not been contacted by the Consulate for any Documents or info. I emailed them but have not heard anything back.

Ottawa - Dropbox File Received: Dec 22, 2021
Hi, I am from Toronto and had filed my wife's visa with Ottawa Consulate (Dropbox) which was issued on Jan 20th, 2022. However Canada Post hasn't yet delivered the passports and it has been stuck in 'In Transit' since last 5 days and they're already late by a day.
Has anyone else experienced this with Canada Post.
I have exhausted all the options and their customer service isn't helpful either. Please post your experiences if your timelines match ours. Very nervous since these are passports with Visa stamps that they have delayed.

H1B VISA STAMP_DS160 AND STAMPING RELATED QUERY
Hello,
I am looking to get H1b stamping as my current stamping expires this year in August (2022).
At US visa page (ais.usvisa) when I filled my info, it shows I am applicable for exemption from in-person visa appointment, which means I can send my document via mail for stamping.
My question is:
1. I filled my DS160 number wrong, how can I change that with US embassy in Canada? Can I email them or is there a option on us visa page?
2. As my current stamping is valid until August, when can I send my documents to embassy for new stamping? I read somewhere that we can only apply up to 90 days before current stamping expires. Is that true?
Please help!
