Visa Stamping Eligibility for Net New Cap Exemption H1B in Canada or Mexico
My husband had a H1B in US between 2016 to 2019 and moved to Canada mid of 2019. He has a Canadian PR and 3 more years left on his current H1B.
- He got a job offer in US and will be moving out of Canada.
- His employer is applying for a Net New H1B that is exempt from Lottery since he already had a prior H1B.
- He needs to have a visa stamping before entering US. With limited availability of appointments in India, we are trying Canada [Secured a date in May 2022 for now] and other Consulates to secure an early appointment.
- Does Mexico support stamping for Net New H1B Application that does not have to go through lottery? He is currently on B2 and will be converting to H1B.
- Any other consulate suggestions for his Visa Stamping?

Question regarding the ds-160 status after interview
Hello guys,
I had my H1B interview last friday at toronto consulate, visa officer told me that visa is approved and took my passport and informed me that I'll be receiving the further instructions on email when my passport is ready to pick-up. But, when I checked the visa status in the ds-160 tracker, it is showing "Refused". Is it normal behavior? Appreciate your help in advance.

Approval or Receipt notice required for dropbox H1B stamping

I have heard conflicting info here about docs required for dropbox stamping. Some say I need approval notice and others recommend submitting using receipt notice. My H1B petition has been approved but lawyer has yet to receive approval notice in mail. I am yet to submit DS-160 because of that. Any recommendations on whether I should use receipt notice of H1B transfer or wait till copy of approval notice.

H1B stamping in Canada
Hi,
I am a Canadian Permanent Resident. I am planning to get my H1B stamping done in Ottawa. My previous stamping was done in India. I have a few questions:
1. Am I eligible for dropbox?
2. Are there any appointments available for dropbox or in person interview?
3. I had to visit my family in India due to a family emergency. I thought I will get my stamping done in India but there are no appointments. I have paid fees here and submitted ds160. Is it ok if I recreate a ds160 with Ottawa location and pay the fees separately for getting stamping done in Ottawa?

H1b Dropbox, Toronto Consulate
Hello,
I received my H1b approval with consular processing while I was in Canada. I submitted my documents for dropbox on the same day I received my approval. Below are the details:
Case Created: 05-Nov-2021
Case Last Updated:15-Nov-2021
Case Status: Administrative Processing
Its been in Admin processing since Nov 15 and there has been no update since. I emailed consular section for details on my administrative processing and haven't received any response. I also called them directly to find out more info but I was told there's nothing to be done from my side and I have to wait. My lawyer told me it maybe due to PIMS delay. I have seen cases in admin processing and changed to issued after few days but mine is taking longer. Anyone has any idea why is it taking so long? Dropbox, DS-160 and H1B Approval Notice question
Hi!
I got my H1B transfer petition approved but its been almost 10 days since approval, I or my lawyer have not yet received the approval notice I-797B in the mail. I am a Canada PR and had done H1B stamping earlier. H1B stamp expired early this year so I may be eligible for dropbox.
My questions:
1. Do I need the original or just the digital copy of I-797B approval notice in case I gets selected for dropbox?
2. Can I use the email notification from the service center instead of my I-797B for dropbox?
3. Should I wait till I receive my approval notice and then submit DS-160 or instead I should submit DS-160 now and wait to book appointment till i get the approval notice? I think the dropbox is only untill Dec 31, 2021 so I am really taking my chances here and cutting it close depending on when I receive the approval notice in mail.
4. After DS-160 submission, does the appointment scheduling system automatically give me the dropbox option or I have to book a physical appointment in 2022 (whenever available), then cancel and apply for dropbox? Do I need to call them to do so?

I would like to share my experience in getting my h1b visa stamped at Vancouver, Canada thru' IWP.
* 10-Nov-2021 - I converted in-person interview application to IWP
* 12-Nov-2021 - I prepared all documents and submitted at BLS Surrey
* I was told that the documents will be reaching to US Consulate on the same day. However, I couldn't get any confirmation from BLS or USCIS website on application receiving.
* From this forum, I learnt that it will take a week or two to see status as application received in https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx
* 19-Nov-2021 - application got acknowledged by USCIS
* 23-Nov-2021 - status got changed to Issued and got mail that my documents are shipped on the same day
* 24-Nov-2021 - the documents are delivered to requested location and I picked it up by noon

How to find tracking number for passport pickup

my H1B visa status is in issued status since yesterday and I selected a pickup location instead of delivering to home. Where can I find if it is dispatched or tracking number? CEAC site or ais.usvisa-info where I booked the appointment time? I did not get any email either.
