Quick background: I am currently on a closed work permit visa in Canada and have booked an H1B interview waiver appointment.
Previously, I held a U.S. visa (F1 visa), which was issued on June 25, 2018. I am applying for the H1B visa for the first time. According to the Visa renewal by mail (https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-renewal-by-mail/); website, it appears like I am meeting all criterias and I am eligible for an interview waiver appointment.
Initially, I had booked an interview-based appointment for August 12, 2024. Last week, I called the U.S. consulate office (customer service agent) to check my eligibility. The agent told me that I am eligible for the interview waiver appointment (based on my case) but I need to update a couple of questions as "Yes" as part of the "Applicant Responses" section. The two questions are as follows:
The previous visa that XXX is renewing was issued after December 5, 2009.
XXX is in possession of the previous visa that is being renewed.
So, I had below two questions,
Q1: Could someone please reconfirm if I need to answer "Yes" to the above questions and explain why?
Q2: Also reconfirm my eligibility for the interview waiver.
Can someone help me with this?

Canada Ottawa stamping experience
Below is my experience. It was very easy and convenient.
On H1B visa and going out of country first time after 10 yrs. Got a visit visa to Canada and booked appointment in Ottawa.
Jun25 - Interview. Status changed to approved after interview.
Jun26 - Status changed to Issued in the morning
Jun27. Got email with tacking details . Around 4:45 PM, ready for pickup
Few observations:
Ottawa embassy allows kids in to the interview area. I asked the staff inside at fingerprinting area and they told me that some embassies won't allow but Ottawa doesn't have such restriction.
You have a locker to store, phone, wallet inside consulate.
Only downside was the call center was terrible and they gave us all the wrong information like kids are NOT allowed , because of which my spouse and I booked separate appointments

Stamping in Ottawa June 2024
I had my H1B visa interview on 6/7 and the visa approved. The status changed to approved on the same day. However, I have not had any update on the status for last 10 days. The status still shows as approved. I tried to call the embassy but did not receive any update. Has anyone else had similar experience?

First time stamping on H1B after 10 years on Canada visitor visa
I got my H1b issued in Singapore in 2014 as I was working in Singapore then . I never went out of the US since 2014. In 2018 I moved to a full time job on H1b and working with the same employer since then.
Can I go to Canada on Visitor Visa along with my family and get H1 B stamped .
Would it be a problem since I never went out of the country for 10 yrs and going to Canada to get stamped?

221g Blue slip.
I had an interview on 02/22/2024 for my H1B in Ottawa and VO give me a Blue slip 221g and returned passport.
VO asked a couple of questions.
Current company name.
Job responsibilities
How many years on H1B
was on H1B before that
Where from I renew my passport
In which year you visited your home Country
Did I maintain my status
Then VO asked for the resume (I have a hard copy) and kept checking and later asked for the university details.
In the end, VO told me additional documents needed and gave me a Blue slip 221g. In the additional document, I need to email my resume only which I emailed.
Any idea how long it will take?

I have Canada PR since 2022, in US on H1-B visa since Dec 2019. First stamping done in New Delhi, India. Came to Canada for renewal stamping. Here is my timeline -
Jan 16 - Interview at 10:00 am. Done in 1 minute. Interviewer asked basic questions like where do you work, how long have you been with the same employer, status in Canada. VO said visa is approved
Jan 17 - Status changed to approved at end of day.
Jan 18 - Documents dispatched, got courier email and tracking.
Jan 22 - Picked up documents from Toronto PO with Visa stamped.
