B1/B2 Visa Approval
My Visa interview was on 13th Oct and my Bio-metrics was done on 12th Oct in Hyderabad.

My interview was scheduled at 9:30 am and I was near the consulate at 7:45 am itself, couldn't get sleep . I just want to get over with this and go home - sleep . I was in a position like "whatever happens doesn't matter", I gave it a try and THATS ALLl!!!.

I was allowed inside the Hyderabad Consulate @ 5 minutes to 9. and there was this security check where they made to remove even my belt quite embarrassing I should say. Then they gave a few minutes to wear everything back on- I mean my blazzer/tie/belt and then I took all the stuff and took my files and then left that place.(Pls dont carry bags/Cells/pen drives/security token of ur company/wallet as nothing is allowed inside - Not absolutely sure about the Wallet, though I was not carrying one)

In the next phase they will counter verify your fingerprints to the once they had collected during your Bio-metrics and after that your are made to sit in a WAITING ROOM.

The next phase in this process would be your Consular interview - fingers crossed!!!!

Then my turn came in -- Got the counter number 12, but I was hoping for 10 , because 10 was an Indian guy who seemed to have not rejected anyone from the time I was observing him, but I got 12(couldn't see who took the interview on Counter 12 as it was inside whereas counter 10 was outside). I know my luck is always Bad. Lady who came out after attending interview from Counter 12 was rejected and a guy before this lady was also rejected. I knew this because they had their passports in their hands and they were not happy, I could SAY THAT and they both; when they came out had Token 12 in their hands. Staff outside took the token from this Lady and passed it over to me.

Then I entered the Consular room and walk towards Counter 12 and when i reached the counter , I could only see her black hairs as she was reading something and then she raised her head(An American) and looked at me - I was STUCK by her BEAUTY; shit- i said to myself!!

Conversation with my VO -

VO - Hi - Good Morning to you Sir.
Me - I knew I dint respond anything back.

VO - Repeated again , Hello Sir - Good Morning to you!
Me - Yeah, Good Morning to you Mam , I m doing Good(Responded - I'm doing Good without she asking me How m I). This moment I realized how stupid I'm, but I couldn't help myself.
(P.S: Nothing here was made up , it just happened)

Staff who was standing near me took my passport and gave it to her(VO) .

VO: Purpose?
Me:To attend Business Meeting for requirement gathering discussions with my client ABC and with my XYZ team at US for ASDF module on HJKL application. I work for QWER company and my client is RTYU i added when i was explaining about the purpose.

VO: Which Module she interrupted me and asked again
Me: ASDF module i repeated.

VO: Which place are you going to visit
Me: San Jose - california

VO: How long are you going stay in US
Me: 14 days

VO: What is current position in your company she asked
Me: Team Lead

VO: What is Salary
Me: YYYY ZZZ Rs per month.

VO: Could you tell me the annuallll?
Me: YYYY XX lakhs per annum

VO: Who is going to pay for your trip(LAST QUESTION)
Me: My company QWER will cover my expenses

VO: after 2 secs, with those glittering eyes and beautiful smile she said "YOUR VISA IS APPROVED - enjoy"

Me : I felt sad for a moment that i cannot see her again and then I came out realized that I actually got a Visa.

This is how it went for me guys.

Thanks
- Surendra Prasad

Need assistance/advice to reapply for B2
Hello Everyone,

There is lots good information on immihelp, and appreciate advice given here.

I am planning on reapplying for B2 Visa. I had applied with my daughter (age 19) in June 2016 and the visa was rejected. I wanted to attend my cousin's wedding and had the documents and invitation. The VO didn't look at anything.

I am looking to reach out for help with my occupation and job description on the DS 160 Form.

In my previous DS 160 Application I had mentioned the following:
Primary Occupation- Business
Present Employer- Self Employed
I am a business owner and investor in agriculture and commercial real estate.
I own retail spaces in a shopping center which is leased to companies such as abcd.
I have a agricultural fertilization business in which I provide products to local farmers.
I receive rental income from residential homes that are rented.

I believe all the focus from VO is on the DS 160 and they base their approval based on this only. They don't ask for any documents. Can someone please help me in writing the section for describe the duties.

How is it possible to mention multiple income sources in DS?

Thank you.

Visitor visa to USA for parents - tamil interview in Chennai consulate
I am a postdoc in the US in J1 category and my husband is in H1B. I recently applied for a tourist visa for my parents and would like to share the experience. This forum was a great help to prepare the right answers for all questions. Although my dad is well versed in English, we opted for the tamil interview to avoid more questions and just in case they do not follow the accent.

VO: Why do you want to go to the USA?
Dad: To visit my daughter and spend some time with her.

VO: How long would you like to go?
Dad: 4 months.

VO: Where does you daughter work?
Dad: In YYYY university as postdoc.

VO: Is she married?
Dad: Yes she is since Feb 2016.

VO: What do you do?
Dad: I am a horticulturist and have fruit plantations. I also have some rental buildings.

VO: Madam, what about you?
Mom: I am a housewife but have some lands in my name and get an income out of it.

VO: How much do you get?
Mom: Around 25K per month

VO: Who is sponsoring your visit?
Dad: My daughter is taking care of everything.

VO: How many children do you have?
Dad: I have a daughter in the US and my son is working as business analyst in Chennai.

VO: You have your visa approved. Have a safe journey.

I prepared them for the same questions following this link
http://www. **** *.com/visitor-visa-guide/visitor-visa-interview-questions

I almost did this everyday for a week until they were very confident.

The VO spoke in clear tamil and she seemed to be an anglo-Indian lady and was very polite.

Following are the list of documents they took for the interview:

1) Passports
2) DS-160 payment proof
3)My letter of invitation
4)My pay-slips for past 6 months
5) Employment verification (mine in the US)
6)Property documents
7)Bank passbooks
8)Group photo of my family and one from the wedding. (Just in case)
9)My brother's IT returns to prove that they have a son in India.

But the VO did not ask for any document proof. Goodluck with your preparation for the visa :) I am ecstatic that I will have my parents here for the summer.

My Visa is rejected
Yesterday 6-10-2016 I went to the DUBAI US consulate for the Interview and below is my experience (( I am a mechanical engineer from Iraq and live in Dubai from more than 9 years , Unmarried , 44 years old ))

Me : Good Morning
VO : Good Morning.. May I see your Passport please ..

VO: Why you want to travel to USA ?
ME: I am going for short vacation to see my sister in NY and then my brother in CANADA then I will come back to NY and back to DUBAI

VO: Your brother in CANADA ?
ME: Yes but he is working in Abu DHABI now

VO: what is your job?
ME:Mechanical engineer

VO:How many years in UAE?
ME: 9 years and around 2 months in Dubai

VO:How much your Salary?
ME: 16 000 AED

VO: do you travel before?
ME: to IRAQ in 2014 and 2008 and change VISA to OMAN

VO: Your Sister fill an immigration petition ?!
ME: Yes the form I-130 F4 category but this take long time for 10 years it is for the future for my retirement .

VO: sorry I can not issue a visa for you wait for your immigration visa
Me: OK Thanks

Too bad experience from the first time ..

My Question for all :
is the reason that because my sister fill the immigration petition form for me ? I put it in the form DS-160 clearly .. In this Case What should I do to go to USA ? .. Is that mean I need to wait for 10 to 13 years and not going to USA ?!!!!

the problem that me and my friends want to join an important meeting in Washington in next March 2017 ??!!
