B2 Visa Dehran Embassy
Hi All,

I am a married male with two kids. I am 32.

Went for interview today with my wife and 2 kids aged 2 and 4 years. Here is how it went

My Passports and finger prints were taken at counter number 2. I was asked to wait until I am called by name on the speaker. I was called after 10 minutes. Following is the conversation between me and the VO.

VO: Good Morning
ME: Good Morning

VO: Can you please place your hand on the machine for finger prints?
ME: Yes sure.

VO: (TO my wife) Can you put your hand on the machine as well please
ME: My wife did the same.

VO: Ok sir, why are you travelling to the US
ME: For tourism, a family vacation.

VO: Which states will you be travelling.
ME: Calafornia and Newyork

VO: How long are you planning to stay in the US?
ME: 20 days about three 3 weeks

VO: Have you traveled any where else before?
ME: Well, within the past years I have visited DUBAI. And if you want to know in the last 10 years I have traveled to the UK, France, Holland and Germany.

VO: And this was on which purpose?
ME: Tourism

VO: Where did you study?
ME: Pakistan.

VO: How long have you been here in Saudi Arabia?
ME: 5 years now.

VO: How long have you been working here?
ME: 5 years.

VO: What is the nature of your job?
ME: I work as a xxx (told him my responsibilities, used some technical terms just to impress him)

VO: May I see your employment letter please?
ME: Yes, ofcourse. (passed him my employment letter, he glanced at it, probably checked if my salary matched with the one I mentioned in the DS-160).

VO: Well, everything seems to be fine with your form, (gave me a green paper) you can collect your passports after 4 days at the location you selected earlier.
ME: Thank you very much

VO: You are welcome, enjoy your trip.
ME: Thank you.

Thank a lot to immihelp that helped me prepare the questions.

B2 Visa Approved Widow Mother @ Delhi
Thanks a lot everybody for sharing your experiences, this website is a great information repository. Below listed her profile and experience

Profile:
Widow, Not Working, 3 Kids (1 in US, Rest in India), Property in her name and Earns rent, Self-financing the trip

Interview Experience

VO was a lady and since my mother’s interview was in Hindi, she had a translator with her

Q: Why do you want to go to USA
A: For tourism and to meet my elder son's family
Q: Can you show me your son's visa
A: Presented Visa
Q: How long will you stay
A: 1 month
Q: How many kids do you have
A: Answered (My younger brother & his wife are disabled and I told my mother to emphasize on that, she proactively offered to show his disability certificate. VO glanced through it)
Q: Who is going to take care of your affairs
A: My daughter, she lives close to me
Q: Is she married
A: Yes
Your visa is approved

VO smiled and said Bye-Bye, my mother smiled and said Bye-Bye

Suggestions based on personal experiences:
DS160 is your place to highlight the strong ties, they do not really care about any paperwork
Be consistent in the answers with DS160
Don’t be nervous, look them in the eye. They are making a lot of money from this so be confident
Take few seconds to reply
Seriously prepare for the interview, conduct mock interviews with your family
Every question they ask they are trying to understand your country ties & meaningful purpose of the visit. So prepare answers which highlight and supply that info
Don’t volunteer Info, most of the times people volunteer info as a filler when they go blank. So practice mock interviews, it is a must
Best Of Luck

Got the visas (All 3 of us)
First of all, All thanks to Immihelp, as this has been a platform for applicants like me to get educated regarding the procedures / changes in the visa application. I have been reading the blogs since 1 month and have been preparing my case based on the experiences shared by all the users. However I would say that the luck was favoring us upto some extent. Hereunder is my delightful experience:-

We were 3 applicants comprising of myself, my wife and my 3 year old daughter. According to the rules the interview for my daughter is not required. We had an appointment time at 9:00 am today at BKC, Mumbai. We reached by 8:30 am and saw a huge queue which made us a bit stressed out. However everything was well organized. We were allowed to get in the queue at 9:00 am sharp (as per appointment time) Our passports were checked at the gates and they let us in the bldg. There was a security check inside which took 5 mins and there was an open ground with roof with 50-60 chairs. We were made to sit for sometime and within another 10 mins we were in the main bldg. Inside finger printing was done and accordingly we were in the final queue for the interview. There were around 30 windows and the applicants were one by one sent to the windows for the interview. Finally we were been guided to one of the windows.
Now comes the main part (THE INTERVIEW)

ME: Very Good Morning to you Sir with a confident smile !!
VO: Good morning Sir with a smile

Me: Shall I slide the passports
VO: Certainly Sir
(I gave all our 3 passports)

VO: What is the reason for your travel?
Me: For holiday Sir and meeting my uncle in Pennsylvania

VO: What does your uncle do?
Me: Answered
(The officer kept on typing for 1 min)

VO: What you do?
Me: Business (explained my nature of duties)

VO: Which are the countries you have traveled?
Me: Conveyed

VO: Which trip has been your favorite till now?
Me: Conveyed

VO to my wife: Which trip has been your favorite till now?
Wife: Same as conveyed by me

Then came the golden words “Visa Approved” The VO was giving my daughters passport back assuming that we are 2 and one of our passports would be old. With a smile I told him sir this is my daughter’s passport and he said oops sorry and he took it back with a smile. The overall experience was wonderful. No documents asked, no tough questions asked. We were out of the bldg in dot 45 mins. But I would recommend all the applicants to go through the blog as all the officers are not same.

The key is to be confident (not over confident) and be honest.

B2 Interview experience
Alhamdulillah got my B2 visit visa, thanks to immihelp community. I am a Pakistani, 27 years old, living in Saudi Arabia. I planned my trip, booked air tickets and hotels and updated all the information in DS-160 form and applied through Riyadh Consulate.

I arrived at embassy at around 7.30 am, the security guy said me that you are a little early and I had to wait for about 45 minutes to get in. After security check I got my ticket number and then waited for my appointment. After about an hour I got my turn. The VO was a black american, this is how my interview went with him

Me: Good Morning
VO: (Didn't bother to reply) Asked me for passport

I gave him my passports

VO: Put your fingers on the scanner
Scanned all fingers and thumbs

VO: Literally, threw my passport at the window and asked me to go to another window for finger prints.

At this time, I was appalled at his rude behavior and the way he threw my passports but I kept my calm and went to another window. I scanned my fingers again in next counter and was asked to wait outside for interview. My turn came after an hour. So this is how my interview went:

ME: Good Morning
VO: Morning (Yep, This guy replied back, not all VOs are same)

VO: Why are you going to US
ME: I am travelling to UK for vacations and from there I will go to US with my cousin for tourism.

VO: Your visa occupuation is Computer Technician on your Iqama(Saudi Resdident Permit), so what is your job role.
ME: I am working as a Technical cosultant in xxxxx company

VO: What is your job salary?
ME: Told him my salary as mentioned on DS-160

VO: For how long you are in Saudia?
ME: I am here for nearly 2.5 years/

VO: After typing for few seconds on computer, I am approving your visa, you will get your passport in few days.
ME: Thankyou

The interview lasted only for a minute and most of the times VO was not even looking at me but was busy with his computer. The key for visa success is your DS-160 form, fill it with all genuine information as they will only confirm this information in the interview.
