You can store your bags at the police run counter on the side of the consulate.
The line moved very fast, after a consular staff verified our finger prints, we moved to the interview halls. You can hear all interviews off persons prior to you. Listen to them but do not get confused or scared. Many American consular officers speak fluent Tamil, I heard quite a few of them interview aged people possibly going to the US to meet children and grand kids. The staff asked us to move to the side counters, The person in front of me was give a 214b and the officer told him to apply later. I don’t knkw what to choose or what to write .. she got her visa before when he was not married in usa .. but now he is married here and i ron’t know how will this go.
Ask interview after Dropbox and also confused about purpose of visit
Me and my family visited USA 6 times. I have export business with USA . I do export rice and fish to usa. Also nice healthy export business in Bangladesh. I got visa last 2014 and drop for renewal but was asked for interview.
Ok have business meeting there and need to attend also we will visit California and lasvegas this tine.
So what will be the purpose of my visit ? Business meeting attend or vacation. Or both.
I am confused.
I was denied the B2 visa yesterday. I have a good job, good bank statement, good family relationship here in Nigeria but my agent made a mistake in my DS-160 form. He put 'married' instead of 'single' as status.
Could this be the reason for the denial?
Also, I was asked about my husband and gave the required response; questions about his job and how long we have been married.
I want to reapply... Is it advisable to change my status to 'single' as opposed to 'married' as indicated on the former DS-160 form?
I'm a Nigerian married to a USA citizen. I'm much younger than her but we love each other and make each other happy. so we got married last year. I took an advice from a travel agent and applied for a visitor Visa to USA and I was denied instantly despsite the fact my wife is American.
My interview goes like this;
Me: Good morning
VO: Thank you for giving me your passport
VO: why are you going to Montana?
Me: My wife wants me to visit Montana so that I can meet her family,
Her mom who is 92 years before she dies....
VO: He interrupts me, asks where did you meet her?
Me: I met her online
VO: Where is your wife?
Me: In USA.
VO: Do you have kids?
Me: No.
VO: sorry I can give you the kinda Visa you applied for.
Hands me the pink 214(b).
P.S: this is my second denial, I applied for business Visa last year to attend a conference for my organization and was denied.
Question: what kinda Visa do I apply for to at least visit my wife after 5 months of marriage? Is k3 approval high?
Friends....
My mother widow , 65 aged had fingerprint on 27th Jan 19 and Visa interview on 28th Jan 19, Morning.
She was refused earlier in Feb-17 and April -17 for B2.
This is 3rd time at mumbai.
My mom was slipped in DEC-18 last week and had fracture in her left hand and spinal chord, so i demanded for wheel chair.
Surprisingly , US visa consulate allow me to go inside with my mom up to visa interview window..
For wheelchair and handicap person, there is special window and priority.
we are 4th by turn.
The VO is very kind and helpful and interpreter was also very helpful. Both were really good personas.
Interview was in my regional language
Mom: Namaste
Vo: Good morning
Myself: Good morning
VO: your passport please?
I gave her my mom's passport.
VO: to me: why only 1 passport? where is yours?
I replied to VO : Ma'am, i have valid US visa.
VO: Why you want to visit USA?
Mom: As my elder sister , whom i did not meet from last ....years and she had a surgery so she is not well. i am able to visit so i want to meet her eagerly .
VO: how your sister being a Citizen of USA?
Mom: Her daughter called her and she files for her citizenship.
VO: How many grandson do you have?
Mom: 2 Grandsons
VO to me: Sir, Have you visited USA?
I replied to VO: ma'am, i already visited USA in may-2017 with my family.
AFter sew seconds of typing, she gave us a paper, and said,
Your visa application is granted and your visa is approved.
We said thanks a lot ma'am
Once again i must say VO and interpreter , both lady were so good persons.
Thanks.
This site has been a good guide to me. I've noticed that everyone has a case to case basis no matter how good your travel history or bank statement is. I applied in Dubai, UAE last Thursday and here's how my interview went.
The VO was actually still talking to his colleague before I even came forward for a about 2 mins.
He said excuse me and close the small window for me not to hear them.
And went on:
Me: Hi Good morning
(No response he was directly checking and typing something in his computer)
VO: Is this your first time in the US?
Me: Yes Sir, this will be my first time.
VO: So you you have applied before?
Me: Yes Sir, I did.
VO: What happened?
Me: it was refused under section 214b.
VO: Where in the US you will be going?
Me: Los Angeles California Sir.
VO: Do you have a family there?
Me: Yes Sir, a cousin
VO: So you will visit her as well?
Me: Yes sir we will catch up for sure whenever she's not busy.
VO: Otherwise it'll just be for holiday right?
Me: That's right Sir.
(He continue typing in his keyboard, and he was interrupted by his colleague again and he said excuse me)
Me: Oh that's okay.
(He came back after a min)
VO:Are you married?
Me: Yes Sir.
VO: Where's your husband?
Me: In Philippines Sir.
VO: Who do you live here?
Me: I live with my 2 younger sisters sir.
VO: You are working at Sign Works?
Me: Yes Sir, Sign Works
VO: Can I see your salary certificate?
Me: Oh yeah for sure ( handed him the document)
(He glance at it and gave it back to me and continue typing in his keyboard)
VO: What's your actual basic salary Maam?
(This time I was hesitant to tell him the truth coz I know my basic is really small but I still insist in telling him the truth. He was again interrupted. i waited for 2 mins. and he is back and apologize for the interruptions and I said its okay.
VO: There were really some significant changes in your profile but Im sorry you are still not qualified for a visa.
(He handed me a white paper with section 214b again)
Me: Ohh, its okay no problem. Have a great weekend Sir.
I still managed to walk out of that area with a smile on my face but my heart is literally broken.
Its okay, Im planning to reapply again after 2 weeks. :)
