Attended VISA interview on 25th October 2018
I was asked usual questions like Salary, Location, Company and University.
Consular noted something in computer and reacted, later he took some blue form which was 221G and asked me what was my VISA status & how long I have you been working with company XXX ?
I told him I was on F1 and I'm working from 1.5 years with company XXX. Starting this october I'm in H1B.
He told me that he doesn't need any more documents from me & i just need to wait for Email.
Any one has faced similar issue ? How long it may take to process 221G ?

We had a h1b interview on November 2nd. The VO asked basic questions like - which company, salary, previous visa, number of years in US, what are going to be my duties etc.
At the end, the VO filled a 221g form and said they have to do some additional processing from their end. He said they dont any documents from me and that it should be fairly quick.
Created date : Nov 1st 2018 (which is surprising given my interview was on the 2nd. I guess it goes by US time?)

Issued: Nov 9th 2018 (I did not get a notification. i found out when i checked online).
Background - i am transferring from j1 to h1b. I did my phd in usa and transferring to h1b to start a faculty position. Not sure what was the reason for the 221g.

Had interview on Oct 31. VO asked me basic questions like which university, which company, salary and in which place you work. I answered all questions confidently. I am moving from f1 to h1 and working as FTE. While he asking questions, VO took a sticky note and wrote something and attached it to the passport and kept with him. He gave me blue slip with "Administrative processing" with no document asked. VO told me that nothing to worry it will take few days for administrative processing.
Anyone in the same state?

interview was on 1st nov , vo asked simple questions pertaining to salary, work location, highest qualification , went inside with orginal i129 came bk after 10 mins. handed over us citizen rights pamplet . then asked for client letter went inside for 10 mins again cameback and issued 221g blue slip with no additional docs requested . dont know why there was sudden change in vos decision . fingers crossed

Regular Questions and officer said you should get the passport back in 5-7 days and they need to change something in their system, and gave 221g.
