Client got a call 2 weeks later but no reply from the embassy
Been waiting since then client is getting impatient
Finally after 1 and half month after client verification on August 30 got mail to submit passport

Aug3rd-The Officer called me after 2 hrs & he said he wasnt able to verify something today and he issued 221g with no additional documents. He returned all my docs & pp.
Aug9th-The Officer contacted my clients on Aug 9th to verify the project details and work location. Client responded on 10th.
I got an email to submit passports on 20th and submitted them on 21st.
The Application status changed to 'Your passport is still with the US Embassy/Consulate' on 23rd Aug and there is no update after that.

05/16 - Biometrics at Mumbai
05/17 - Visa Interview at Mumbai with basic questions (Client, Education, Salary, working location and total duration of US stay). Handed over 221(g) Yellow slip to submit the project description via email.
05/23 - Submitted the project description on the company letter head along with detailed roles and responsibilities
05/24 - CEAC status updated the latest date to 05/24
08/20 (1 p.m.) - Sent follow up email to [email protected] and got auto reply
08/20 (4 p.m.) Got email to submit the passport along with I797 copy and pending letters for principal applicants and their dependants.
08/21 - Submitted Passports, I-797 copy and pending letters at VFS, Pune
08/23 - CEAC latest case updated date changed to 08/23 for principal applicant as well as dependants but status didn’t change from AP.
08/24 - CEAC status got changed to Issued and collected the passports on 08/27.
Wait period is over but highly recommend to follow up with them right after 2 months

First time H1B applicant, previously on F1. I'm an FTE for a large firm.
This is my 4th visa application; my previous F1 and B1 visas were approved easily. Note I have a common Muslim name.
Timeline:
Feb 9 - Went for visa interview. The VO said my visa was approved, but sent me to another counter to pay reciprocity fee. After paying, the original VO left and I had to give my passport to a different VO, who gave me admin processing slip with several questionnaires (e.g. 15-year travel history, family member's names, social media handles). I submitted my response in 2 hours, and they replied with confirmation.
Apr 10 - Emailed the embassy for status after 60 days. They replied saying it's still under admin processing and I just have to wait.
May 10 / Jun 8 - Emailed again after 90 days and 120 days. Received the same reply. No update on CEAC.
Aug 23 - Embassy emailed asking for a scanned copy of I-797A, sent right away. They confirmed receipt, but no update on CEAC.

E2 Immigrant visa for kids (adopted) through I-130. I'm a PR holder with children still in India and opted for consular processing for them.
Consular Interview on 8/2/18.
Consular mentioned they need to verify the legality of adoption deed submitted and did not ask for any further documentation.
8/7/2018: Date updated, but still showed Administrative Processing.
8/14/2018: Reached out to state senator for help. They said they will help asking info from consulate, but decision is still the state department's.
8/15/2018: Senator sent letter to consulate general requesting status.
8/17/2018: Consulate general responded with the same message (60 days etc), but did mention they're aware of the urgency.
8/20/2018: Date updated, but still shows Admin Processing.
