I've been working for a fortune 200 company in the US since June 2014 and I finally switched from F1 to H1 status last October (2017). This was my first stamping. The interview was fairly short and pleasant and the VO asked me about my grad school and day-to-day responsibilities on the job. He then smiled, said everything looks good and you are all set... BUT he then looked at his screen, frowned for a split second and sent me over to another counter where a lady handed me a white 221g slip. She asked me a couple of questions about my work and then told me it'll take 3 to 4 weeks for the visa application to get processed.

Jan 31, 2018: Case updated, still AP
Feb 1 , 2018: Case status changed from AP to Issued.
Bottom-line: It took exactly 4 weeks from the date I submitted the documents online, and the lady at the counter was spot on. Hope this helps!

PhD F1(OPT) -> H1B direct hire in one of the reputed software company in USA, never did any extension for F1 OPT.
General questions by visa officer, F1 to OPT, job description, research topic, education and salary. Sent to other window where the Indian lady told me that they need to do some additional verification will take 3-4 weeks.
The only status update for my case was on 30th december, to "There is no status update available for the passport number submitted".
Since then no update. The process sucks!

25 Jan 2018 still AP, no status update same as original 12/19
30 Jan 2018 status update to today's date but still AP.
02 Feb 2018 second status update still AP.

Me and my family (Wife and Daughter) attended the visa interview (H1 and H4 extension) on Dec 5th 2017. We were given 221g blue form by the Consulate Officer. Passport was returned to us but she kept my client letter. Clients were contacted by USCIS with a set of questionnaire on Dec 15th 2017 and client responded on Dec 18th 2017. There was no update after that. I contacted support-india and they asked me whether my client got an acknowledgement from USCIS for the email sent on Dec 18th. I responded no and they asked me to inform my client to send the email again. Client sent the email again on Jan 5th 2018 and received an acknowledgement on Jan 8th 2018. The case status says AP.

Applied for b2 visa with my husband , as he is traveling for a business conference. His visa was approved the same day of the interview but mine is still pending. The Vo asked me to visit window 20 and there one lady gave me white slips and told me to send the required docs on the email id and she kept my passport too. She also mentioned not to book my tickets , but my tickets are already booked , my travel dates are 3rd feb 2018. Till date no update on my case.
Also i don't understand if they issue me the visa after my husbands visit to US what is the use? They should be little considerate seeing my travel dates. i am not at all hopeful now, as my travel date is day after.
