My research area falls into a TAL field. The process takes about a month and a week to clear is how this feels.
14 July 2015 - Officer asks me to submit extra documents.
15 July 2015 - Submitted documents in the morning.
Next I called up the office in Washington every week to check if any updates were noticed. They claimed to see the same Administrative Processing page I see, and nothing more. They did sympathise with the whole situation though.
12 Aug 2015 - First update status still Administrative Processing.
14 Aug 2015 - Update status still Administrative Processing. (Update after 5:30 pm IST)
17 Aug 2015 - Update status Issued. (Update after 5:30 pm IST)
18 Aug 2015 - Passport available for pick-up. (Update after 2 pm IST)
19 Aug 2015 - Passport picked up.

My wife had appeared for J1 visa interview in Kolkata Consulate. She was given a 221 G White Slip and was told to submit few documents via email, which she sent on the same day itself. She was told that it will take around 2-4 weeks to complete the process. Today when we checked the list, we found all the other cases from 7th July till 14th July have got a status update date as on today's date (12th August, 2015), except her case, which still shows status date as 13th July 2015.
She is very much tensed about this matter and have no clue what to do.
Should we email Kolkata consulate regarding the matter or wait for one more week?
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
August 13th- Finally Our status date changed to : 13th August 2015. Those whose status date changed to 12th August yesterday, most of them got their visa issued on 13th August 2015, which is today. So I'm hoping that her visa will also get issued by tomorrow . Lets pray :)
August- 14 : Approved.

I am PhD student in Chemical Engineering, I wanted to renew my F1 visa. I initially used the Dropbox on the 17th of June 2015. And then, I was called for an interview on the 2nd of July.
Update (08/07/2015): I submitted my passport today at the consulate after I received an email at about 3:00 PM. CEAC status was updated in the morning.
Update (08/11/2015): Another update in CEAC website, still 'Administrative Processing'.
