Obtained US Citizenship through marriage - question about re marrying
Hi all,
I married a US Citizen in 2016 while I was on F1 student visa, and got divorced in 2022. I also got my US Citizenship in 2021.

Last year one of my sisters friends moved to the US for school and is currently under a F1 visa. I started showing her around town and we started hanging out a lot - we seem to be getting along very well which has made me start thinking long term.

Does anyone have any experience on what I should expect immigration-wise in case we ever get married later on? For example if we decide to get married in 2024, what types of issues/obstacles may occur throughout the immigration process? Although I am a US citizen, I am very worried that I will have issues marrying a F1 student as I obtained my citizenship the same way.

I have evidence to show that my previous marriage was bona-fide (rent lease, checking accounts, health benefits, life insurance, car insurance) in case its a requirement and I m still worried about it.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

I-751 waiver and N-400
I applied for citizenship throughout the 5 years rule. got married in April 2016 and got divorced in November 2020. applied for #I-751 jointly and covered to waiver after divorce.
-interview for #N-400 and I-751 was scheduled for January 2023 Atlanta Georgia. I passed the civic test and the English portion. I was a given #N-652 form that states “ a decision cannot be made yet about your application” the officer said that I will be getting a notice in the mail.
have someone ever experienced this?
 will I get approved?
it has been a week now and I haven’t heard from them at all.
also, during my N -400, I corrected a couple of dates that were off in my application and added a new job.
please let me know if someone has the same experience as me or similar.
thanks

Expired Green Card (through spouse) - Travelling to India via UK from USA Question
Hi All,

I (Indian Citizen) have the following scenario and would appreciate community input:

I am travelling to India with an expired Green Card (through spouse). I have applied to "remove condition on GC" and have received I-797 that says while I wait for my GC, my GC has been extended to 24 months and I can travel.

1> I am travelling to India in March via UK (London through British Airways) and would just change a flight in Heathrow (I will land and then in 3 hours catch the connection flight to India) - Do I need a UK transit visa considering I won't be going out of the airport.

2> On my way back to USA, I would land in London and will be in London for 5 days. I would need Traveler visa in this scenario, correct?

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks everyone in advance!

Unemployment while waiting for I-751
I-751 filed 1/2021 Potomac and still waiting . N400 filed on 10/2022 .
With the economic downturn there is a possibility of losing my job and filing unemployment. How does that affect during interview ? Does it come under public charge rule ? Can removal of conditions and N400 be denied because of that ?

I-751 and n400 pending - traveling to mexico
Hi, i have a pending I-751 and n400. My 24months extension notice will expire on june 2023 and i have a trip to mexico on april 2023. I am worried i won’t get my GC or any update on my n400 by then and that i can’t enter mexico with my expired green card and just the extension notice? I did my research and mexico don’t require green card holder to apply for a visitor visa, does that apply to me too? I am basically still a resident i guess. Also, my passport and green card have different middle names. Green card = first name + middle initial + married last name and my passport = first name + maiden last name + married last name (it’s a requirement in my country to keep your maiden last name as your middle name to change your last name). Is this going to be a problem at the immigration? Thank you!

Travel with letter extension
Hi All!

I sent my forms on 09/06 and got the 24 months extension letter and status updated to fingerprints was updated. I’m planning to travel to Brazil but I’m a little bit worried about just showing my expired green card and the extension letter. I get scared the airlines is not familiar with the document or something goes wrong. Did you guys traveled international recently only with the GC and the letter? Any issues?
