Time taken for IRCC To return the passport
Hi,
I currently stay in the United States and have applied for a study permit since my college starts from Jan 2020. I have completed my biometrics already and the latest status on my profile says ' Your application was approved, please send us your passport to finalize your application.' I received a request to submit the passport on 26th November.
Now due to some personal family problems I needed to make an urgent trip to India, and I can only return to the US on 19th Dec and I am planning to visit the New York VAC on the 20th and hand in the passport personally.
Since I need to travel to Canada by the 4th of January, I am a little worried about the number of days they usually take to stamp the visa and send it back. Does anyone over here know the number of days IRCC usually takes to stamp and send the passport back?

TRV Paper Application in New York
Hello. I applied for a visitor visa on paper at New York VAC. Here's my timeline so far:
December 5th: VAC Appointment: Application and passport submitted. Biometrics given
December 5th: "Visa application, tracking ID No. 2019xxxx has been dispatched to the IRCC Office"
December 6th: "Visa application, tracking ID No. 2019xxxx is under process at the IRCC Office."
December 9th: Status on cic.gc.ca: "We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you."
What is your estimate on the processing of the application? When should I expect to have my application approved? Also, does the Visa Office in New York City (or Los Angeles) consider applications as CAN+?
I'll be updating this post as well as posting another entry with the full timeline after it's processed.

Is there any chance for me to get student visa stamp and ROI before registering expiraton?
My Condition:
1-I have a valid multiple visitor visa so I can enter CANADA without any problem.
2-I've applied for student visa from my residence country and I'm in my residence country yet waiting for approval of my online student permit application which start in 6 Jan 2020.
3-There is no VAC or CANADA embassy in my country so even if IRCC approve my application I should go to a near country to get my visa stamp and my letter of introduction.
4-For some reason I've sent my documents a bit late.
My Questions:
Considering approval of my study permit very late and just a few days (2~3) before last acceptable date by university for registering, can I go to CANADA (using my visitor visa) and get my student visa and letter of introduction there in Border or from a VAC in this country?
Can I go and register for my application just after approving my application online and then go for Student Visa Stamp and LOI (conditional registration or something cause my entering is legal anyway cause of valid visitor visa and approved online means I can get both, the only problem is I need more time to receive physical copy of documents)

Fingerprints for Canada Open Work Permit
Hi My spouse is in Canada and I have applied for Open Work Permit. My finger print is on Friday, 12/13/2019 and I'm traveling the next day. Will they collect my passport as well and give it after stamping ? Or it would be a separate process to collect passport. Please help.

Steps after Biometrics
I submitted an online application for Canada tourist Visa and gave my Bio-metrics this morning at the ASC. The same is already reflected on the online application as Biometrics submitted.
What are the next steps? Should I be sending in any papers to the VAC or await further communication?

Study Permit still pending after week 5 from USA
Hello. I applied for my study permit and my husband's work permit on Nov 1 2019. I applied as the primary applicant on behalf of myself, my child, and my husband. My child and I are citizens of US. My husband is a citizen of Nigeria. We are now on week 5 of application pending. My husband completed his biometrics on Nov 6 2019. My husband's app status reads that they are still processing background check and reviewing eligibility. My app and my son's app states that they are reviewing eligibility.
Does anyone know if the processing times will be delayed because my husband is a citizen of Nigeria. Even though I am the primary applicant and a US citizen, will the time be delayed because we are citizens of different countries?
Also, does anyone know if our apps can be approved separately? Can my study permit be approved before my husband's work permit? Or must they all happen at once since technically I submitted the application on behalf of all 3 of us?
Any help is much appreciated as my anxiety continues to grow with each passing day.

Sending Passport after biometrics
I am applying for the Canadian tourist visa from USA. I have already studied and lived in Canada before. Now simply applying as a tourist.
I have my biometrics on the 9th of Dec. Can I also mail my passport to the LA VAC immediately without waiting for passport request form. I reckon this will save me 2 days.

Passport sent to VAC with less amount than the actual Package transmission Fee

I received a confirmation for sending the passport to nearby VAC in the USA. I sent my passport along with the requested docs, but I included a $19.90 money order instead of $20.40(which is effective from Nov 02, 2019 and I did notice it after sending the documents to VAC). Did anybody face this situation? and what will be the result ?? I appreciate your help in advance. Thanks.
