Processing center
Hey all

I was wondering if it would be possible to know which service center was actually looking at my case, as I know they’ve spread the cases out. Their processing time information is almost useless, as the difference in processing times astounds me.

I know we’re all in the same boat, though I have tried my best to not expedite my case, I’m wondering if it’s now worth it. I haven’t not had a job in my life, so this is too much!

F1 OPT through Potomac, 247 days
Hey everyone, my boyfriend has been waiting for 8 months now and we're trying to do everything we possibly can to push his case. Receipt date Nov 1, 2018.

It looks like this waiting time might be seen more commonly with NBC, but his service center is Potomac. I'm not sure how unusual his case is, anyone going through something similar?

We're at a critical time where if he doesn't start working in the next 2-3 months he'll have to return to his home country due to severe financial burden to him and his family.

His case has been with an officer for months, so no expediting requests will help. He has raised 2 SRs, waiting on another one right now. He has help from a local congressman office who received correspondence from USCIS saying his case is under "extended security check" which is supposedly done by other agencies and USCIS needs to wait for the completion of those checks before moving forward.

My bf has never run into any trouble with the law so I'm confident it will come out clean. Not sure if they randomly selected his case for this check, or if this check is even truly happening. I am very worried for him and hoping we can do something about this or that he gets approval within the next 2-3 months, or else he will be forced to leave the country. Not sure if there is a strategic way to go about this or to at least get more info on the processing of his case.

EAD without biometrics
Hi!
I applied for ead along with my i485 application PD 4/10.
My status has been fingerprint fee received since 4/15 and I haven’t gotten a biometrics appt yet. My husband lost his job in May and we are struggling financially. I called to expedite my ead on 6/25 after I got a job offer. Didn’t hear back from USCIS so I called my congressman’s office and they are willing to help with my expedition.
I’ve read some places that the ead can’t be authorized without biometrics being completed. Anyone have experience with getting ead before doing their biometrics? I’m freaking out a bit since we won’t be able to pay our rent/ student loans/ car loans next month if I don’t get my ead ASAP

Expedited EAD through congressman timeline
Hey everyone!
I want to share my timeline here to give people hope!
If you’re waiting for your EAD, and have a career altering job opportunity coming up, contact your congressman!!! They will help you out - but let me tell you, it’s not going to be easy, the process is nerve wrecking and time consuming, but will be worth it if you’re being proactive!

F1 Student, OPT ended May 15th 2019. Got married to US citizen in October 2018.
AOS Green Card, NBC marriage based, New York City.

APRIL 14th 2019 - I-765, I-131, I-485 Case received.

APRIL 22nd 2019 - I-485 Fingerprint fee accepted, biometrics scheduled for May 14th 2019

MAY 15th 2019 - As of May 15, 2019, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485 Interview.

MAY 22nd 2019 - went to congressman Adriano Espaillat’s office to ask for help to expedite my EAD. I’ve had an incredible job offer, and they wanted my updated paperwork by August 1st. Waited four hours to talk to the senior advisor of immigration affairs, and she said she would help me out. I already brought my offer letter, contract rider that requested an updated EAD, as well as all my receipts and handed it to her. She then asked for me to write a heartfelt letter regarding my situation, as well as a letter from my agent (I’m an actor).

I can’t stress enough, that your personal letter has to HEARTFELT!! State the facts but dont make it a formal or factual. The officers reviewing your letter are only human.. You want them to sympathize with you.

MAY 29th 2019 - went back to the Congress man office to drop off my letters.
From that point on I went back to the office once a week, to talk to the immigration advisor about the status of my case. It can be very frustrating, because each time you have to wait for HOURS, just to talk for a few minutes getting the info that there’s no update yet.

Over the course of tue following weeks, she sent my packet to immigration 3 times! Always be prepared and have all your documents on you.

And then the amazing news!

JULY 1st, 2019 - I-765 Your Card is being produced!

JULY 3rd 2019 - I-765 Your Card has been mailed.

I’m not posting this timeline here to boast about it. I want you to be hopeful, and know that if you’re proactive, persistent, and willing to put the work in to take charge of your situation, you can achieve anything! Contact your congressman! As I said, it’s not going to be easy, but it’s worth a try.

Sending hope and energy to all of you out there! Stay strong!
Xo

November filers
Hello,

I just want to say that I called USCIS to discuss my case PD: 11/02/19. I was informed that USCIS NBC is processing applications for 11/01/2019. In other words, 11/02/19 fillers should hear back by Monday! It’s been a rocky rollercoaster but let’s stay positive! We are almost there.
