Got 221(g) for H4 Visa - Delhi H1B Visa not yet stamped
My wife and kid have traveled to India and went for H4 stamping on Feb 11th at New Delhi consulate.

I sent all the related documents (including letter from employer - Fortune 100 employer).
The VO hasn't looked at any document (although she was carrying them and informed him about the same).
They gave a 221(g) requesting my petition (I797, I 129 and cover letter provided to DHS during petition filing - she was carrying this whole set) and Project detailed design, timelines, no. of employees assigned to it, market analysis and asked them to send thru VFS with passport.

The company is a huge one and not sure if they will provide market analysis document for the internal projects. Has any one responded to the query with out a market analysis?

Background: my visa has expired but my I94 is valid and haven't gone to India so far for stamping. The VO said as my visa has expired he wants to get these documents from me.

Looks like going thru I-129 will take sometime and they don't want to spend the time for that. Easy is to give a 221(g).

Can you let me know if I send the project description (I work on 3-4 projects) and a letter from manager/HR explaining my work and employment w/o sending timelines (we follow agile so the requirements get defined as we progress and are multi year projects) and market analysis?

My H1B USVisa Stamped at Chennai Consulate on 9th Feb 2011. 9:30 AM
Hi Guys,

First of All Thanks to all of them before to me who has posted some invaluable comments.

My experience was really awesome when i first went to Chennai US Consulate. It was at 9:30 AM . I reached there at 9:00 AM. Then as soon i went there they called the 9:30 AM Batch to come and stand in a line for verification and gave a token Num.

Till i was outside the building i was kind of nervous.. Thats natural.. But we should be confident enough to overcome that. Thats the key manthra. When i went inside they first asked me to seat over there. I was watching the big monitor. My Token Appeared. I went to that particular counter. We will have a mic and speaker . We can clearly hear what they are speaking. so no need to worry about those things. Once the finger print and documents are verified. They will ask us again to sit and watch for the number. It was around 9:45 i guess.. at this point of time. I got my Token number and different Counter.. So i asked where is that counter.. They said we have to go to the other building.. Went there and good part was as soon as i went there .. My token num was the next one to go in for the interview..

When i went in there. Greeted them with a Good morning and then a small smile.. they asked me only 2 question.
1. What is your highest degree..
2. Why are you going to US and What will you be doing there..

Answered that. Then came the most awaiting moment.
"Your VISA is approved. You will receive the passport in 4 days time "..

When i came out of that Building the time was around 10:00 AM..

So guys be cool and confident. I know there will small amount of tensions.. but i guess if i can overcome it.. Anybody else can also do that..

All the best for all person who are going to get the VISA, Congratulations and Thanks for all persons who posted their experience.

Regards
Vasu

H1b Approved @ Hyderabad Consulate...
Hi All,

I got my H1b visa approved today at Hyderabad consulate.Below is my experience at the same,

1.They Checked my Invitation letter and Passort and then allowed me into the consulate gate. Completed.
2.Security check: This is a bit time consuming(45mins to 1 hour, so dont forget your brkfast or milk). They will check each and everything from the minute of things(do not carry any electronics or even cosmetic items(For girls)... they are very strict while screening ur bags.
3. Then they check your type of visa and send to a counter where you have to submit your passport, DS 160 confirmation page and Invitation letter(They will already have your documents which you have submited 4 days in advance @ VFS office). Please make sure you submit your doco's 4 days in advance to avoid hassels at last moment(i have seen couple of pep running here and there who havent submitted the same). Do carry Extra photographs and some money(just incase if your photo is rejected you can get a new one in the consulate itself).
They will give you a brochure at the end of the process do read it for sure.
4.Finger Prints: this is done very easily, no hassels in here.
5. Then you have collect your token, generally the wait time after collecting token is very less, so arrange your doco's well before collecting your token number.

Then here was the Visa interview which i had

ME : Good Morning sir!
VO: Good morning.
Handed over the applicatoin (DS160 and all few other doco's which we submited 4 days prior to interview)
VO: Why are you travelling to USA?
ME: Got an employement offer from YYYY company
VO: What you gonna do in USA?
ME: As a programmer Analyst, will be developing an application for YYYY company.
VO: Whats your salary?
ME: 60,000 Per Annum.
VO: Whats you highest qualification?
ME: Bachelors in Computer Science Engineering.

Thats it he checked something on the system and finally came the golden words. You will get your visa in 1 weeks time. yippie...

Interview was hardly for 1 or 2 mins. Just be cool composed and confident in your answers and make eye contact with VO... that should do it...

Before going to the interview , i heard that hyd consulate was giving lot of 221g to the applicants... but dont worry about it just go and give your shot , H1 are approved the most incase of today(10th of Feb)...

All the best to all of you

My H1 interview at Chennai, U.S. consulate
This is especiallly for Mechanical Engineering graduates.

Don't worry that you are a non-computer science graduate.

Quetion asked by the Officer.
1.Who s your client?
xxxx
2.What will you do for your client xxxxx?
Replied. And don't say the word 'testing' anywhere. Say analysis, Design, Development, Implementation.
3.What is your highest degree?
Bachelor of Engineering
4.Specialized in?
Mechanical Engineering
5.How long you are working for?
3 years. He asked me the qn when i said Mechanical Engineering as my specialization.
If you have atleast 1 year with the company and the client, then branch doesn't matter. Also for H1, there will not be any problem with the branch.
6. what is your yearly income?
xxxxx. It is good if it is atleast 60 thousand $

Then the officer saie 'Your visa is issued and it will be mailed to you withn 3 to 4 working days'

Don't get tension. Be cool. You will get it. good luck
