Succesful stamping at us consulate,chennai on 11th feb
Hi all,
I got my h1 visa stamped on 11th feb at the chennai consulate.These are my experiences
1.9.30am,entered into consulate after cheking all documents.
2.submitted the documents in a counter where in all the required ones are kept in a blue folder by them after finger printing and all.
3.There was a big Q.after a wait of 1hour in the Q, my turn came.This is how it went.
V.O:HI sir.
mymine:Hi mam,GM
V.O:U R s is h1?
mine:yeah.
V.O:CAN U SHOW ME U R DEGREE CERTIFICATES?
MINE:SHOWN
v.o:Yours is a consulting company?
mine:answered appropriately.
Wt is u r project?can u explain in brief?
mine:explained
she was typing something in the computer and finally came the gloden words,"your visa is granted u can collect the passport in three days time".
It all went for a span of 20 mins.The mantr ais simple.Be polite and confident before tham,they will grant the visa without asking any supporting doca.However,u r consulting comp in us must be a strong one.

I got my H1B stamped successfully. To be on short it was confidence that had helped a lot.
Be cheerful when you in the queue before your turn comes and during the interview. This is how it was:
My app time was 1.30 p.m. in Chennai Consulate.
1. I was there around 1 p.m.
2. Formalities like, Appointment letter, passport verification at the entry, Document verification inside the consulate have been done.
3. Joined the queue before the actual interview building. They called people with time slots.
4. Once you are in, be alert and cheerful when you are standing in the common queue. You can have a look at what is happening in all counters(I guess there are 7 counters). There were some people given with 221g forms. NOTE: Consulars are looking out very often though they are seems to be busy with interviewing others. so keep watching around and avoid having any chat with the people around.
5. My turn came and I just went into a counter. but VO was out for a break. After he was back he called me. Here it goes,
Me: Hello sir, Good Afternoon! (Dont expect him to wish...some VO do that aswell!)
VO: Good afternoon. Can you please pass the folder.
Me: Yeah sure. (I just passed my folder. He took out all docs, marked something in DS forms).
VO: M.C.A? (He just qouted my qualification!)
Me: Yeah.
VO: What you gonna do in US?
Me: I am gonna work on <my responsibilities at the client site>
VO: <He just repeated my client name>
Me: Yeah.
After this he started entering something in his computer.
VO: Okay. Put your right thumb on the scanner...(I did..) and left thumb...(just a verification...)
I thought it was all over. Because I know that he was satisfied with my reply.
He just returned my Work permit from the folder and took other stuff(DS forms, passport etc).
Thats it. All done.
I am again repeating the same thing, first present yourself well and have confidence...that will do the magic...Do your homework..God will do the rest...

Received the H1-B and H4 Visa-Stamps from N.Delhi
Hi All,
Day before I received the PPs for myself and my wife with H1-B and H4 stamps in them resp. It took them
6 months to issue the same. I had worked in US prior
to this for 8 years. Just before coming I had changed the employer but did not start to work for them. The stamp that I got had the Receipt No (WAC) of the New employer but the name of the Petitioner on the Visa stamp is of the old employer ... Does anybody has any idea about this ... Pl. share ....

I was just asked company tax returns and client letter and contract agreement....
Keep your cool and be confident.....
Documents that are a must to be carried:
1. All original degree certificates
2. LCA
3. I797
4. I129
5. Company tax returns for (1 years and last quarter) or (last two years).
6. If inhouse project, project description and if client project : client contract agreement, client letter
7. Experience letters (current and prev companies)
8. Offer letters...
In front of me, I have seen two people getting 221G coz they did not get tax returns and required client documents...
Carry all required docs, know about the company u r going to work and project description well and the visa shud not be a problem. Show that u r professional and demonstrate your technical abilities if required by using right jargon.

I had faced interview on Oct 25,2007 at Chennai consulate.Unremarkably I had issue 221G by Visa office before I had checked all ppl posting and their experiance also as well as prepared very nicely.Finally I learned,person who have carried genuinely all documents along with who have to convince VO short span of time.Herewith I have noted faced line ups and lead time for each day could be useful for all ppl.

My interview was scheduled at 10:30 AM. I Have reached the consolate by 9:30 AM . The security guard asked me to come back at 10:15AM. So i went inside by 10:20 AM. after taking the finger prints, the officer collected my I797. I129,DS 156,DS 157,and passport and placed in a blue certificate which was given tome. I entered the interview room at 10:45AM and stood in queue for about 15 - 20 mins . My interview was very simple :
vo: Hai How are you
me : am fine how are you sir?
vo: am fine
vo: what is your qualification?
me : Iam a Bachelor of technology in computer science and engineering
He has entered some thing in the computer
vo: so you are working in *** company?
me : yes sir
vo : How many years of exp?
me : 3.5 years from same company
vo: what you are going to do in *** company in US?
me : iam going to work for a client project and explained in brief
vo: who is the client?
me: *** explained my job in one sentence
vo: Your visa is approved and you will get in 5 days...
He didnt ask me to show any document at all. I didnt open my file itself. The interview was for around 45 secs thats it
What i observed people who are confident will get the stamping done easily. So take care that whatever you speak , speak with confidence . All the best to all

Well.. My interview was on Feb'05 at 9.00AM. And it was just like a cake walk....
Really i am surprised and got visa without any diffculty.
Let me come to the point:
first i finished all finger prints..and all my I797, I129, LCA, DS-156, DS-157 were kept in a blue folder...then asked me to enter to the next building.
after that..it was around 9:15 i went to the visa officer....
i felt quite nevous...but somewhat managed and kept smile in my face.
VO: Welcome Sir, how r u?
Me: Gud Morning Sir, Fine and Thankyou
VO: What is ur highest qualifiction?
Me: M.SC Computers
VO: What is roles & reponsibilities?
ME: xxxxxx...
VO: How many years of experience you have?
ME: 3.9 years
VO: On What technologies u r working?
ME: Java & J2EE
VO: What is Class Library?
ME: Answered....
VO: Wat is ur designation over in US?
ME: Computer Programmer Analyst
VO: What is ur project... Inhouse or Client?
ME: Client
VO: For which client?
ME: Answered...
Then he was typing something in computer..
after few seconds...he told that "Sir ur visa is approved.. u will get ur passport in a week time"
i was shocked and surprised to hear those words....
becoz.. he asked me to show only My PG certificate.... and thatall..
He was very kind and polite..

I am currently on F1 OPT, my wife's F2 visa got denied on 214(b).
1. I want to know that if i get my H1B approved, when can she come to US on H4 ?
2. Is it possible for me to go for h1 stamping in canada, and she visits mumbai consulate for h4 ?
