H1B, H4 Visa

Hi,

    Recently i attend in Mumbai consulate, They gave a form 221G and told why u came here, attend in Chennai Consulate. What is the next step, i can attend directly in chennai.

Here i am going to share my stamping experience.

We were 3 friends with the same appoinment timing 10:30 am. I only have taken VFS service.
I reached at VFS 10:00 AM and had only coffee.
i was very nervous and tense.At there on TV i heard song 'subah subah' from movie 'i see u' and got refreshed and joyful. then One person came and Announced for 10:30 am ppl. The VFS bus directly went to Consulate at sharp 10:30 pm and dropped all of us there.we directly went into consulate with Passport, I797B, and Consulate letter in hand.

First of all security check has been done. We have to remove wallet, Wrist watch, and belt at there and one blank wooden token has been given.

After Security check i entered inside consulate with all things in hand belt etc. one Volunteer told me to join a queue. i joined queue and collected my all ds-forms and other docs, a pink token number on it given to me . then that lady directed me window no 1 for finger prints.

i joined queue at window no 1 but there were around 6 ppl waiting for finger prints and window no 2 was emply. so i joined window no 2.At there i have submitted all documents which was given to me and taken seat.
 
There was so much noice inside consulate so u have to be alert and active for your number. i thoght i was missed my number 2 times but my number announced within 15 minutes after finger prints. the lady announced first window 14 then token number 023,026,030,022....
 
i quickely went on window no 14 and i was first at window.i went so quickely that Still the lady was announcing the numbers.The lady officer sign me to come inside.

me: Good Morning madam, how you doing?
VO: fine thank u, how about u?
me: I m fine Thank u.
VO: ask for token number (i didnt get it)
me: can u repeat madam?
VO: token please
me: i have given token
VO: whats your role there?
me: Computer System Analyst.
VO: whats your salary there?
me: answered.
VO: passed 797B and golden words u will get your passport within 2 working days.
me: Thank u madam and merry Christmas in advance
VO: oh! thank u

i quickely left the consulate.

my interview time was hardly 30 seconds.

Tips:
1) Be relax
2) Wear formal cloths.
3) smiling face.
4) answer shortly and meaningful
5) last but not the least have faith in god.

I just want to share my experience with you all. i attended interviw on 22nd Oct and VO officer asked me to drop all documents (All Employer's Docs)thru DropBox. I submitted Docs on Dec 6th thru VFS. I got all my original documents with passport H1B stamped on 12th December.
If you have genuine document Its very much sure you will get Visa. So friends, Dont loose hope. Always be possitive and have faith in god. You will be successful always. Good Luck to everyone.

I would like to thank for this wonderfull site which provided me prepare myself for interview but unfortunately my bad luck played a major role.

My appointment was on December 10th at 10.30AM(H1&H4)at Chennai Consulate. We (Me, My wife and my son) went to consulate at 9:55AM they allowed us after security checks.

As soon as we entered inside the first building VFS guy guided us to counter number 1 for document verification and scanning. It took around an hour to complete the verification as there were 4 applicants in front of me and also VFS officer was taking his own time to verify the documents.

I was under impression that if you have all the documents any visa officer would grant the visa, but things went wrong it depends on the visa officer and individual luck. I carried almost all the documents.

As I went with my kid VFS guys guided us directly to finger print counter no.2 in second building and immediately counter no 3 for interview. Before I could realize that I was in front of VO and there was interview going on for a lady (I think it was for H4 as VO asking for salary details and where her husband is staying currently in US), she got her visa.

After that I was waiting for VO to call us and he called but that lady was still collecting all her documents. I waited till that lady left the counter and proceeded to the counter. Before I reached the counter VO started chatting with black lady VO and I was waiting him to finish his discussion and then I wished him.
I didn't get a chance to observe any other counters/interviews.

Me:I wished VO, Good morning officer and how are you doing.
(My son also wished him)
VO:thanks GM and how about you.
ME: Fine office.
VO: Can you pass the document.
Me: Passed blue folder.
(He was checking our passports, other documents and entering something in his system).
VO: After a min, Whats your highest degree.
Me. Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science.
VO: responded with repeating the word “Computer Science”.
Me: Said Yes officer.
VO: Are you going to work for YYYY Company's project and which project.
(At a time he asked two questions)
Me: Yes, Project name.
VO: Is it in-house project/client place project.
Me: Its in-house project.
VO: Do you have project description documents.
Me: Yes.(He kept silence for 5 seconds).
VO: Can you pass project documents.
Me: Passed.
VO: He went through each and every page of this 16 page document.(for about 1 min).
VO: Can have employer tax papers.
Me: Passed.(went through the papers)
VO: Can I have employer wage reports.
Me: Passed. (he started checking something on his system for about 2-3 min and I was just looking into his eyes to find out what must be going on his mind).
Me: (As I was guessing looking at him, he turned towards me said words which I never expected 2-3 min before and everything turned upside down).

VO: Sorry, I can not issue your visa as we have evidence that this in-house project is FAKE. I will send back your petition USCIS recommending to revoke your petition and this process may take anywhere between 6 to 8 month.

VO: Do you have any questions.
Me: Yes, Is there any problem from my side.
VO: Absolutely no problem from your side. We have evidence that this project is FAKE. I would suggested you to look for some other employer and If I would have been in your place, I would look for different employer. Now I will be giving 221g blue for AAP.(He marked one in API in 221g and wrote case id number).

Me: Do I need to drop any documents.
VO: Not required.
Me: Thanks officer.(Left the counter).

My employer said that with the same documents one guy has got visa. I am not understanding why each VO has got different verifications. There is no baseline.

When employers file petitions they submit all documents to USICS, that time they are least bother to check all the details and now why they want to check. I don't understand this.

Now they have to check about our studies and our experience if it is genuine or fake. I am not sure when they will get back to me. I have totally lost all my hopes and I felt like all my dreams falling like a pack of cards. I had lots of confidence before the interview.

I understood from my experience that is all Luck and visa officer.

I don't know how much time it will take 221 Administrative processing,visa office taken all documents like I797,I129,DS156,DS157,project documents, employer tax documents and wage report documents. Only returned our passports.

On 221g he ticked only below one:

APPLICATION PROCESSING INFORMATION.

----- The petition is being returned to USCIS
for further review. Upon completion of the
review, USCIS will contact your petitioner.
Please wait for a notification from the Consulate
before returning.

Okay sir, We granted ur visa, u will b get that with in a week

0820: I came out from the window
I had some water and I sit there 2 mins to relax

0825: I stepped out from US consulate

Thats it guys

They didn't ask me a single question abt my present employer

and they didn't ask me the tax returns, Notary list of employees and
Unemp wage report and all

They concentrated only on previous (Hyd) company. SO take care

Dont worry abt small mistakes in DS-156 and DS-157 etc.. Just ask them
to correct doc's verification counter

No need to worry abt conversation with US VO's. They will understand
ur problems

Be confident and feel free while taking interview

Verify all the documents and arrange them in a proper order

Immihelp friends I got H1B last month. Thanks to all the members who are posted their experiences

It was really helped me in taking the decisions.

It is not like all Hyd passport holders are redirecting to Chennai. It just depends on you criteria. If you have relevant proofs like Driving Cert or Bank statements, you definitely get VISA in Mumbai. Be confident what ever you’re saying.

Also please check your left and right finger for finger printing before interview.

Don’t carry any Gum tubes in bag. And also don’t carry unnecessary documents.

Hi All,

I have been visiting this site for long and now, since I got my visa, here I am, as a token of respect to this site.

It was about the H1 of my wife and H4 for our daughter. I was expecting my L1 papers some time back, so I didn’t go there for stamping.

We thought that, I being the non-applicant, won’t be allowed inside and all the work inside the Embassy has to be done by my wife. But on seeing, my wife with our infant child, Visa officer sitting outside the embassy, for checking the papers, told my wife that even I can go inside to assist them. All I had to do was to show my photo ID.

That really was first in the list of good news for that day.

We went in and my wife did the finger print thing. Then we went for the final interview. Visa officer was very friendly and polite. He just asked her, if she is going alone, then how she would take care of the young baby. Our answer was, we would put her in day care. He said, oh yeah, we have some nice one there.

That is all, he said, your visa has been approved. Have a nice trip. !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have attended the visa interview on 7th Dec,2007. and after all the verifcations of my educational documents and my petioner documents like tax returns, client lists, lease agreements and photo copies of my petioner office, after cheking all the documents the VO issued me the 221(g) form n told me to submitt all the documents which are there in 221(g). i have one doubt here that he cheked the documents like tax returns, lease agreements, offer leter from my petioner etc. n even though he marked in 221(g) form to submit these documents again now, can any one help me in this matter.
