Hi guys,
First of all THANKS A LOT TO ALL THE VIEWERS WHO POSTED THEIR OPINIONS. I also would like to thank the people who are maintaining this site. It is very useful for the visa aspirants.
I am very sorry to post the experience so late.
I have attended the interview on 7th December, slot was at 9:45am. Went to consulate at 9 am. Nothing to worry. just reach 40 mins before the slot. They will not allow the people before 45 mins to 1 hour. I am saying this because, after entering inside U will have wait for 1 or 1.5 hours, so the total waiting time should not be more which makes us feel frustrated.
Security check, A nice lady has kept my DS forms and other stuff in the green folder. (don't be confused of the blue folder or the green folder, it is just a folder to keep the things in order which will not waste the time of VISA OFFICER.) Then she asked me to move to next building. Went. A long line for taking the finger prints. In the mean while a person (member of Consulate, American) came and explained to all the crowd about how to keep the things properly while we speak with VO and how should we behave in order to GET A VISA. He was really enthusiastic.
Then I have gone for the Finger print. Again joined the line (sitting on chairs) to meet the VO. Then some co ordinators came asking for the 9:30 and 9:45 slot (English language, as all the languages people will be made to sit at the same place) people to join the main line. Joined. There were 3 men and 1 lady visible to me. All were busy conducting interviews. Mercury was rising in the line. Crossed 2 rows in the line, then suddenly a coordinator came and asked some of us to join a separate line where a lady was taking interviews. Tension started building in me as I have listened that ladies at chennai are a bit tuff to cope up.
Any way started to watch the things that how the people were feeling while attending the interview and what was their result. Luckly no body was getting rejected, except 1 or 2 getting the 221(g) forms. Then when 3 people were standing before me I got a chance to look at the lady. My watching towards the lady has increased very much now. 2 guys have completed, one was H1 and other was a B1. Both of them got. The third guy before me went. He was for B1. He was very kool and just made fun with the officer for some time. He was approved. Then came my turn....
VO: Sorry for making you to wait for so long. (I dont know why she said that, but she was definately observing us from before)
ME: No Problem madam. How R U doing today?(by handing over the folder).
VO: I am doing fine. (smiling). Thanks. How R U Doing?
ME: Fine Madam. Thanks
VO: (checked for few seconds)... So, U R working with VIRTUSA?
ME: Yes, Madam.
VO: For how long have you been working with VIRTUSA?
ME: 17 Months.
VO: (Seen the documents)... So you have done your masters.
ME: Yes Madam, I have done my Masters in Computers Applications.
VO: ...(interruptingly)... and Bachelors in Computers, right!
ME: No Madam, I have done my Bachelors in MPC.
VO: Ohh, Ok Ok, So you have done your masters as a part time course?
ME: Yes, Madam.
VO: Why???
ME: I had to support my family apart from working......(I dont know why but she felt very happy about this answer)
VO: Can I see your certificates?
ME: sure madam... (given them in an order one by one of Degree, Marks Memo and Passing certificate).
VO: Is it a 1 year course?
ME: No madam it is a 3 year course. Shall I show you the certificates of the other 2 years.
VO: No No, No need (Handed my certificates back).
ME: (kept in folder and ready to answer any question.)
VO: SOOOO... What will you be doing at your new Company place?
ME: I will be working on an INHOUSE project called YYYY . (some description).
VO: (Interrupted in between)... Ok OK Do U have any project description.
ME: (Interrupting...) Yes Madam... I have it. (Taken it and watched it for a while. I was keenly observing what will she ask. She has typed my employer name and the project name and some modules of the project in the system. Checked some thing on the system for 1 minure)... I was waiting very eagerly... Tension was rising rising and rising....
Then Came the words.... Thank you gentleman your visa is approved. I was very happy. All of my tension for many days dissapeared at a time. I said Thanks to her. She was looking very pleasing towards me. She wished me for a "HAPPY JOURNEY".
FRIENDS............. I would like to say you one thing, There is no difference between a lady VO or a gent VO. There is no question that they will carry forward their mood from one person to another. I am saying these things by watching lively.
All we need to do is prepare well for the interview. I have taken some 60 questions collecting from this site only. I will not give as a bunch to U people. Because U collect in the same way, so that 90% of the preparation will be done there itself.
There is a very HOT Discussion about FATE on this BLOG. I will say that fate does matter definately. For me the questions were simple and I had prayed god that "Can I get these questions only for the interview and I got them.". But this does not mean that it is just a game of fate. I was well prepared for all of the questions.
So, is there any fate or not. I will say yes and I will say NO because... even if there is no fate we should catch the mood of VO and behave accordingly. Bring the VO into good by wishing them properly (appropriately) and answering the questions to the point... Then I am saying we can definately get the VISA.
Once again I am very thankful to each and every one on this site. (especially Senthil from chennai who has given very good suggestions earlier.)
Then came out of visa office, my friend was waiting at bus stop. I started dancing with him. But he said NO bcz there were many others who did not get their visa. Then a long walk to my Hotel, later went to Marina Beach, enjoyed for 2 -3 hours. Lunch... In the evening went to MYLAPORE Temple and PARTHASARATHI Temple. They are master pieces... One should definately visit them.
OK GUYS... Dont scold me if you feel bored by listening to my story. ALL THE BEST. U can contact me at
