Hello Friends,
Got my H1-B on 15th Sep in Chennai Consulate.
Here is what I did for this after my petition approval.
1) Keep searching for the dates in the
www.ttsvisas.com for the consulate date everyday and got a empty slot in 15th Sep, just 3 days before.
2) Prepared all the docs listed below.

###############################################
3) Book the flight ticket from Bangalore to Chennai in Air Deccan for the morning 7.00 am flight. As my interview was on 3.00 pm, I thought its better to keep some time in hand in case of flight delay. And thats what happened, my flight got reschedule for 11.00 am. Somehow I got to the consulate office by 12.30 pm.
One advice to all the guys, Please try to travel one day before and never ever use Air deccan, its their regular habit to reschedule the flights.
4) Read the visa appointment letter carefully and try to carry only ur docs with you to the consulate. No mobile phone, extra bags will be allowed inside. You need to pay Rs. 100/- to keep those things to a Tea stall if u carry them.
5) They will allow u to enter the office before 30 mins of ur appointment time. So be there on that time. They will check ur appointment and Passport to let u enter the building. Some more security check and scan will happen inside.
6) You r in. Get in the queue to pay ur Rs. 441/- draft to T.T. Services for ur visa to be sent back by post. They give u some green/pink colour crad.
7)Then in the counter 1, submit Rs. 4400/- draft and take the reciept.
8) Then ask the seurity where to stand in the queue.
9) Now its all queue and queue and wait. Whenever in doubt ask questions. After you get ur docs checked in some counter, you can enter the main building for visa interview.
10) Then ask the security and he will guide u for ur finger scan counter.
11) Here the person in the counter may ask you some question along with taking ur left and right hand finger print.
12) Now you have to wait there for approx 1-2 hrs to again get in the queue for final visa interview.
Now here is what happened with me:-
###########################################
1) Got to counter # 9 for my visa interview at 5.30 pm.
2) Lady consulate was really a nice person, I said hello to her, She replied Good afternoon,
I said Good afternoon.
3) Asked me to show my passport and form 156, Looked at them and asked me for my exp letter from previous employer and then my BTech Certificate. Then asked my petition docs and returned all of them and asked me to pay the Rs. 2200 /- at the counter #1.
One more thing, She said I will get my visa by post and I thanked her.
So I guess I explained all my exp in details to help all you guys.
Note:- keep ur returned journey only after 5-6 hrs of ur appointment time.
All the best.
