My wifes H4 Visa and Passport stuck in Mumbai Counslate for Security Check
Hi
My wife applied for H4 Visa on 5th April 2005, her passport has not been given back to her through the courier service. When she inquired with the counslate about the passport, she was informed that her security check clearance has not come from Washington.
In this scenario I am not sure how many people has faced this problem of getting thier stamped passport visa so late.
Do post your experiences if you have faced such problem.
Thanks
Rakesh

H1 B Refusal under 221(G)
Dear All,
I attendad my consulate intv on 11th April 2005. The consulate officer asked me my MCA mark sheet. He satisfied with that. The he marked on green sheet and asked me to come again. It was the rejection under 221(g).In that they asked me to submit:
· A list of all candidates petitioned by the petitioning entity in the Chennai consulate, the exact times in which they joined and
worked (including the date of departure if no longer with that entity) and their current whereabouts.
· Photographs (15) of the inside and outside of the petitioner’s work premises to be provided by employer.
· A list of all of the employer’s active projects. Indicate who is the client and point of contact at the client end with phone numbers
and email for that person(s). If the contract with the client is held by a third party, provide names and contact information for that party as well. Do not send a batch of contracts in lieu of this documentary requirement.
· Provide a detailed and specific account of how the H/L worker will be employed during the next 12 months. Be sure to specify location,
client, and client contact information, nature of the project and duration of the project. (He underlined this sentence.)

This is through a consultant. Two persons got stamped on 5th from the same consultant. I dont know why it is. And how sever it is. I asked the to send the docs. Is there is any chance for permenet rejection? Or they asked again for another docs.
Any reply will be apreciated. I am reachable on [email protected]
Regards
Joby

H1B experience
Hey guys,

I have attended for visa last week and it was cool. I went to the Visa office counter and he said to put the left index finger and on the red screen placed there. Being an Indian, in Indian style I was putting my thumb and he said please go back into the queue and see how others are doing it. Only then I realised that I was putting the wrong finger :p. Then I went back into the queue. He was not an easy guy. He rejected a F1 and a H1 before me. I thought he is going to make it difficult for me and I thought I should be more confident. I know he cannot reject me a visa just because I put the wrong finger.

It was my turn again and I put the finger correctly this time ;-)

VO: Let me have your docs

I gave the docs to him

VO: Which comapny are you going to work for
ME: I am going to work for YYYY as a ZZZ

VO: Whats your qualification
ME: I have bachelors in xxx and masters in xxx

VO: Let me have your original certificates
ME: have him the certificates

He went inside and gave the certificates to someone and got them checked if all the ocertificates original or not and returned.

VO: In which place were you in Germany ( I was in germany for 2 yrs)
ME : Told him the place

VO: How big is the place and whats the nearest city
ME: told him the details

VO: What is the colour of taxis in germany
ME: Milky white

VO: What taxis you see in germany
ME: mostly mercedes benz

VO: What cars have you seen in germany
ME: Mercedes, BMW, Porshe...

VO: Have you ever drove in a Porshe taxi ( smiling)
ME: I would have loved to do that but I never had a chance, but I drove in a mercedes

VO: Please take all your documents and pay the fees
ME: Thank you

He didnt check my petition, he didnt ask anything about my existing company or my company in USA.

So, be cool be confident you will have it stamped.

ALL THE BEST to all

Re: Renewing of H1b Stamping at Chennai
Hi,

I'm on H1B visa and have been working in North America for more than 5 years. This includes my time of 1yr working in Canada. Now I came to India to get the H1B visa renewal stamping at Chennai. I have been asked to fill up a questionnaire of 13 questions which I did and sent it back to them. Now they say that my papers have been sent to US for clearance. This is the 6th week from the date of my appointment. Still they do not have any timeline as when they would be done with it. I'm stuck in India and lost all of my vacation and now entered loss of pay mode and also my job is in the line of fire.

My employer and my attorney have communicated the need of my presence but still there is no response from the US embassy at Chennai. They are hardly worried or concerned about my job loss. At embassy. Still there is no response. Please advice me if there is a chance for me to approach the court to defend my job. I do not know who would be responsible for my job loss if I do, either the procedure at the US embassy or my employer to remove my position even though it's not my fault. I'm under immense stress. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. If this is not your area of work please refer me to the right attorney.

Looking forward to your earliest replying.

Thanks & Regards,

H1B Experience! It was cool...!
Here is my experience of H1B interview with American Consulate, New Delhi, India

I had an appointment at 12:30 PM. I reached Embassy at 11:00 PM. I was asked to wait till 12:00 noon. I joined the queue at around 11:55 PM. There was a video being shown, for the self-check of documents, stressing upon, the sequence of papers to be shown at window. I reached the pre-screening window at around 12:30. Gave them Appointment letter, Passport, DS156, DS157, Both drafts of Rs 4400 & Rs 2200, My original I797. The person asked me, if I have ever been to US. I answered “No”. He gave my appointment letter back to me & asked to wait. (Meanwhile they prepare the receipt for Rs 4400 draft.) As soon as it’s done, you are given the papers to enter the consulate. There is a check of papers & security check before you enter the consulate hall. You are asked for your fingerprints at entrance of Consulate hall. Next step you reach the desk of TT services, Give them the draft for Rs441. You are now allowed to join the queue for interview. Here you brush up whatever you have prepared for your interview. There is one queue and five consulates sitting to interview you. By my turn it was 01:55. I was called and consulate asked for the papers (passport, DS156, DS157, Original I797. He asked me the questions like
Q: How long have you been working with ZZZ?
A: I’m going to join them
Q: What are you going to do for ZZZ?
A: (I explained my tentative profile. Taking around 2 minutes)
Q: Do you have a degree in Computer Science?
A: (I explained about masters in Business Administration with stress upon why Degree in Computer science is not required in the profile, I’m going for.
Q: How big is the company in US?
A: X million
Q: How many people work there?
A: X no.
Q: Do you have copy of petition?
A: Yes (I handed it over)
Consulate looks at it & verifies whatever I said, so one should know what is written in your petition.
Q: How did you come to know about this Company?
A: Jobsites (or answer correctly)
Consulate: Well, I have no objection in your process, please take this ticket and give it to the counter behind you. Thank you being here today.
Consulate keeps the passport and all documents. All he gives is the ticket to be handed over to TT services.

By the time I was out, it was 02:10.
