221g White Slip
I was interviewed on 19th Feb, 2016 at New Delhi consulate for non profit H1B. I answered all the questions asked by the VO and showed all the documents he asked. At the end he said, everything is fine and you are on track and asked me to go to another window. An Indian lady kept my passport with i-797 and gave me a white slip of 221g. The lady told me that it will take at-least 2-3 weeks. I submitted my CV, past and current research, purpose of visit etc in the desired format and emailed on 24th Feb, 2016. In the CEAC website there was a change of date in the update section on March 11th from feb 19th and message was still showing " administrative processing". Is there anyone else facing similar situation ?

H1B Visa Approved Last week in Hyderabad !!!!
Here are the questions which were asked by VO :

Me : Hello Good Morning
VO : Who is ur Petitioner
Me : Answered
VO : Salary
Me : Answered
VO : How did you apply this job
Me : Answered
VO : how many people are working in your company
Me : Answered
VO : I am not satisfied , Convinced as there are very few employees in the company
Then VO typed for 2 to 3 Mins

Then VO asked me about my current employer and other details and I answered

Then VO pointed me to the employee rights pamphlet
Then he said I can go and kept my passport and did not ask for any docs.

I thanked VO and left from the counter.

On 3rd working day I got an email to pick my passport.

Thanks all four sharing your experiences it helped me to get a hang of the interview.
All I would suggest you all is be honest and be clear with your answers and do not give false information, if u do not know or do not have the info please let them know honestly and donor give false info. VOs are really kool and they are there to verify the info which was provided and they are very cooperative and helpful. So be professional and provide accurate info to them which will help you and then to process your application without any delays.

All the best to everyone and God bless you all :)

H1B stamping
I work for employer A currently. I got my H1B petition approved last year through another consultancy B .I am planning to go for stamping in 1st week of april. My employer A does not know about it and is not ready to transfer H1 which have not been stamped. Now employer A is planning to file a cap-subject new H1 for FY 2017 on April 1st. My concern is whether there will be any issues when I go for stamping in 1st week of april for employer B. VO can find that even Employer A has filed a new petition when I go for stamping and can question me on the same? Will there be any issues during stamping due to this?

Quick question
Hi Experts,

I work for big US employer as a full time employee and next month i am travelling to India and have to go for visa interview. I went through most of the visa interview experiences here and it really gives good idea of all the questions. In my case i work on internal ERP system (maintenance release and sometime projects ) which is used by our internal people.

What should i say if VO ask about my project details, as such i don't have any project document.

is it safe to say - i am full time employee and work (analysis, design ,develop and maintain)on internal ERP system which is used by internal employee for global support?

Thanks and appreciate your help.

H1B @ Hyderabad
Hello All,

Thanks to all for posting their experiences. It gave me enough confidence and information to prepare and attend interview. I love this forum because people would like to give it back , helping others. I wish this will resemble in our society for good being.

Coming to the interview, it was a cakewalk for me. I don't say everyone will experience same kind of interview. So be prepared to answer any kind of question. Good preparation about employer, client, project, roles and responsibilities, your education related(like a non IT guy coming into IT) etc. So that it will give enough confidence to face interview.

This is how my interview was started( ended in less than 30 seconds)

VO: Hey How are you doing?
Me: I didn't even wish him, he asked me passport
VO: Your Passport Please
Me: Passed
VO: Who is your Employer?
Me: Told petitioner name
VO: What is your qualification?
Me: Told my qualification
VO: What is your salary?
Me: Told my salary

Thats it!!

VO: Issuing your Visa, Have a nice day( they were wrapping up interviews in all counters).

Wished him same and left the consulate.

My intake from the interview was to prepare fullest. Talk to the point to face. Carry as many documents as you can. They won't ask, but it would be always better to not end up with any 221g and finish interview on the same day.

Congratulations whoever got their Visa and All the best to whoever going for stamping.

221g Blue
Hi All,

Attended the H1 visa interview last week in Mumbai.

Vo : Which company ?

Vo : Which client ?

Vo : Location

Vo : Project

Then he asked my spouse

Vo : Are you excited to go to US ?

Vo : Which location
Mentioned wrong location

Vo : asks same question again
Mentiond wrong again.

Vo gave me yellow slip asking me to be seated. Also asked for the company documents, I797 and passports. He also told my dependents can leave if they want to. After 40 mins was called and handed over all the company documents, passports , I797 and also the blue 221g marking only requires administrative processing on it and also the white rights pamphlet.

Not sure why this happened. Please advice.
