port of entry h1b in employer location or work location
Hello Everyone,

I have few questions related to my travelling to USA on H1B visa. I am travelling to US for the first time on H1B visa next month Feb 2016.

1) I have valid h1b visa issued on jan-2016 and planned to travel in Feb-2016 3rd week. Will there be any issue at POE?
2) I am travelling to my employer location XX which is different from my work location YY. Is there any problem at POE? mine is EC model. I have client letter & LCA.

Appreciate your help.

Thanks,
VR

H1B stamping @ Hyderabad - required addition documents
Hi Guys,

I attend my visa interview on Jan 20th and below are the list of questions which VO asked me

1) Who is ur petitioner?
Answered
2) Who is ur client?
Answered
3) Which location?
Answered
4) what is your highest qualification?
Answered
5) which university?
Answered

Finally VO said that my visa is approved but the electronic form of my I797B doc is missing it seems and requested my employer to send that and took my passport and ans a hard copy of my I797B.

Even my employer is not familiar on how to submit it and requested to call customer service. When I called Customer service desk, they said I can submit it via provide feedback option available in ustravelsdocs website after logging in. I did that on Jan 21st but still my visa status is showing as admin processing.

Can someone advise how long its going to take? Is there anyway to expedite the process as I need to travel back to Singapore for work.

Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

When I reached visa officer my heart is beating like anything, I can hear my won heart beat while answering VO questions. But I was confident that I can answer all the questions that VO asked.

H4 stamping - Visa approved but the status is "Administrative Processing"
Hi,
My wife has attended for H4 stamping along with my Son(4 years old) last week. The visa interview was only 2mins and VO said that the visa was approved.
The VO has keep two passports and mentioned that your passport can be collected in two business days.
It is more than two business days(3) and the passport status show as "Your passport is still with US consulate" and the DS160 status on CEAC website show as "Administrative processing".
Do anyone has same experience recently?

Thanks

H1B stamping along with dependents @Hyd on 21 Jan
Today I went to Visa interview along with my family (my wife and my baby girl (age 1.4 years))..I just went with I797 original , and offer letter from my employer (this letter not looking good as my employer given just xerox copy), a letter from attorney (given that they have uploaded all the required docs in PIMS)...i mean my employer didn't give any essential docs to me except I797, offer letter..

Who is your petitioner ? (checking something about mine in his system)
given answer in one word

VO called my wife and asked...

What is u r spouse mothers maiden name ?
She gave answer and VO told her u can walk around here meanwhile..so my wife standing and walking around the counters..of course she is watching me and questions VO asking.. :)

Who is your client ? (checking something about mine in his system)
given answer in one word

what is your designation ? (checking something about mine in his system)
given answer in one word

What is u r qualification ? (checking something about mine in his system)
answered: I have done B.Tech and also done distance MBA

Is your B.Tech regular ?
Yes

Which stream u r in B.Tech ?
given answer in one word

Is it first time u r travelling to US ?
given answer in one word

and he kept all our passports aside and said something but i couldn't here exactly and VO asked 'did u get US travel and rights information pamphlet booklet?'
and I said Yes i got it and again he told 'please go through it before u travel..it is very important' ...after that I asked will i get SMS about the status (rather than asking 'Is my visa approved or not ?')
He said something like 'u will get SMS to u r registered my mobile number... (here also i didn't hear his words exactly as I was looking into what he is doing)

He didn't ask me any single document from me except our passports...If he asks any other docs my answer is 'my employer uploaded all required docs in PIMS'...
My employer just shared only the client name, vendor name and my role and responsibilities (he was not interested to give any docs to me as per their company policy)
.. of course my employer is not a big consultancy..But I am very confident my employer uploaded everything in PIMS(if not why my petition will get approved from USCIS)

I am working in a BIG MNC here...

God is great...Even i am confident I prepared in so many ways ..but this portal helped me a lot to prepare in many ways...

Always remember VO's are there to approve u r VISA only (of course it depends on u r confident, u r employer name or feedback, u r answers to VO)

My suggestion is please give the answer to u r question in a word (if applicable) or in very short..Don't be proactive :)

Thanks to all who shared their exp here...
