I found the site very helpful. I Need input on the below.
I got my H1B visa stamped, and my husband’s employer is initiating his L1 A Blanket Visa.
Is it possible that I can apply L2 visa with him even though I have H1B stamped.
1. If I apply for L2 visa, is there a possibility that my H1B visa may get impacted.
2. Will it create any sort of issue during the interview of my husband's L1 A visa in case i will simultaneously apply for L2 visa (Even thought i have H1B stamped in hand).
3. Are there any chances of rejection of L1 A blanket if I apply for L2 with my husband due to my H1 B.
4. What sort of questions will be asked for L2 visa.

Mumbai Consulate.
OFC (20-Nov): Nothing to mention.. in and out in 3-4 minutes. Only thing of importance is that do not reach too much in advance. Getting late is fine :)
Interview (21-Nov): Reached around 15-20 mins before the scheduled time. Directly sent in. not much queue. After biometric verification, entered the main queue for interview.. No token system.. 2 persons managing the queue and sending ppl to counters being vacant.
VO: Your Designation?
me: Answered
VO: What will be your salary in US?
me: YYYY $/ annum
VO: Your highest qualification?
Me: Answered (No acronym)
To my wife
---------------
VO: Your Highest qualification ma'am
Wife: Answered

VISA issued after getting 221g
Faced visa interview in Chennai. Sept 2014
Visa counselor ask very standard questions.
Q: Why are you going to US?
Q: Who is your employer in US?
Q: What will be your salary there?
Q: Who is your current employer? (And because my current employer is well known US product company, he double checked with me and said “And your are leaving XYZ company for ABC company in US?” in surprising manner)
Q: Who is my client? (Here thing got weird)
A: Told I will be working directly for ABC company, not for client.
Q: What is your project?
A: Explained about project.
Q: Then he asked for detailed project description.
A: Gave him written project description, which was in two pages.
Q: Not satisfied with two pages he asked for more detailed description.
A: Project is new and in initial stage as mentioned in description, thats all is high level requirement.
Q: Counselor asked for complete petition document and went inside. Came out with 221g sheet (blue) with all the document required from client check marked and said he will hold on the decision for now. In case client is not involved they need detailed project description. Else petitioner can present client letter. Asked me to email document and need not visit Consulate again.
After 15 day my US employer mailed required documents directly to Chennai Consulate.
Around 1 month later I got response from Chennai consulate to submit my passport with additional document and attached 221g sheet. After looking at attached 221g sheet I found its a new 221g sheet, not same what I got during my interview at Chennai Consulate. On new 221g sheet no document was marked checked and at the bottom it was hand written to submit passport for visa issuance. Submitted only my passport at VFS Bengaluru, got it back after four working days with Visa.
Suggestion: After getting 221g I googled for similar experiences, I found there are lot of similar cases but very few had success in getting visa later or may be they have not shared their complete experience (Forgot to write after getting visa). Most of 221g were because of client letter and US petitioner hardly gives client letter.
So my advice is to be very confident with project description.
If case is similar to mine where your US employer has client project, answer like, “Your US employer has project from XYZ company but you will report to your US employer not to anyone in XYZ”.
Hope this helps and stay positive even after getting 221g.

H1B with Wife H4 @ Mumbai
Hi Guys ,
I have been for my H1B with Wife H4 yesterday (21-Nov-2014),
Its went very smooth .. Actually a year back I got my B1 rejected. I was too nervous due to that. As was not sure whats going to be the situation..
I reached the consulate 1hr 30 Min before . My appointment was at 11:00 am . but i reached 9:30am.
there was a very small queue outside so i was sent in . with 30 min i was in front of the window of the VO.
Then here goes.
ME : Good Morning Officer
VO : Good Morning Sir !!
VO : kindly hand me over passports and doc?
Me: Handed over the I -797 and the both passport (mine and my wife )
VO : So how many employe your company have?
Me : answered the total number of employee my company have in India.
VO : US Company employee count?
ME : answered the number.
VO: How long are u associated with the current organization?
ME : answered in year.
VO : What is your role and responsibility.
ME : Expalined him in few words.
VO : Quet for you mam . when did you got married (to my wife )
Me : about to reply but the officer interrupted
VO : Its for mam.. sir .
VO : When did you got married mam.
My Wife : Mentioned the date.
VO : Was it Arrange marriage ?
My Wife : Answered the .
VO : You will receive the passport back in three days with visa.
VO : handed over a pamplet to my wife
VO : this is about women security in USA mam. Happy travel.
Me & my Wife : Thanks officer .
The officer didn't asked for a single document .
Expecting my passport back in couple of days. :)

Q? on H4 stamping
Hi,
Recently I got H1b visa stamping in India (still present in india). Due to some reasons my wife didn't attend H4 along with me.
Now can my wife attend her H4 interview based on my H1visa stamping and my other docs ?
we don't have any specific H4 approved petition likewise. Can we book H4 appointment ?
If yes, what docs are required to book the appointment and to attend interview ?
Please share your experiences.

the status showed "UNDER ADMINISTATIVE PROCESS"Later on Oct 21'st the status showed that,"YOUR CASE HAS BEEN SENT BACK TO USCIS FOR FURTHER VERIFICATION".on Oct last week the uscis went to employer office and
checked my employers details.My employer said everything went well.
Now its around 3 weeks but still the status showing "UNDER ADMINISTATIVE PROCESS".Does anybody have these kind of
situvation.How long it will take for the status update from uscis.

Hi,
Today (20th Nov) morning I have attended interview at Hyderabd consulate.
My Interview had 2 minutes, at last VO said your VISA approved, and taken passport.
but in online visa status still showing "Administrative processing". though I was not issues any 221(g) slips.
is it takes time to update the status?
may I know the reason, please ..?

First of all thank you Immihelp for providing platform to share experiences. This is my first H1B stamping in India, I had my H1B stamping in Mexico last couple of times. Below is my experience.
OFC was on 19th and it was the usual affair.
Interview was on 20th @ 8am and we were in the waiting lounge by 8:20 waiting for our turn for the interview. We got to see couple of H1B interviews in the window next to ours and couple of F1 interviews right in front of us. All the interviews lasted not more than 2 mins. Below is our questionnaire.
VO: Have you guys been to US before?
Me: Yes, We are here to renew our visa
VO: Is your previous visa valid?
Me: No, its expired in 2012.
VO: Who is your employer?
Me: XtG
VO: What is your role?
Me: Programmer Analyst II
VO: How long are your guys married?
Me: 2 years
VO: Where do you guys stay?
Me: Camphill, PA
VO: In here it says your petetioner is Xsoft
Me; Yes,we recently had a name change.
VO: Do you have a document to support the name change?
Me: Yes I do and I was about to show the document
VO: That's fine, make sure you carry the document with you when you travel.
Me: Sure
VO: Happy Travels
Me: Thank you.
We greeted him Thanks and left the place.
We didnt have to show any document.
