New to forums
Hi,
I am new to this forum. If this question is already posted please send me the link or redirect me to it.
First here is my situation:
I graduated masters in 2008 and stayed one year on OPT (no job at that time). Later I transferred to another university (Jan 2010), meanwhile I got an offer through consultancy (Jul' 2010). My employer applied for H1B (EVVC relation), after getting approval I discontinued masters (Jan 2011).
After 2yrs 6mon, I got an offer from my prime vendor which is US based MNC. Now my employer is my prime vendor (similar to full time). I joined this company recently. I am planning to visit India in Nov 2013.
Is there anyone else had this kind of situation and faced visa interviews? What documents/questions do they ask?
I am having some doubt regarding one year OPT period (i don't have any proof for job).
Thanks in advance :)

H1 stamping interview
Hi,
I have worked on my current i797 for a year from 2011-2012 as consultant. I had a family emergency in Oct 2012 because of which I had to fly to India last Oct. I am in India since then. Stamping is yet to be done on this i797. Earlier this month I have got a 1 year project from the same employer for the same client & location . I have current documents including Client Letter, Vendor Letter & Appointment letter, W2 and supporting documents. Before I go for the interview I want to confirm if the current i797 which started 2011 and ends 2014 is good for stamping even though I have been in India since Oct 2012 or is a new i797 needed? Can someone please throw some light on this?

-Thank You!

Going to attend an H1B interview after L1 denial
Hi

My previous firm applied for an L1 an visa in 2010 and it got rejected.

Unfortunately I have lost the L1 rejection form and I am not sure what would be the rejected section they have ticked in the form. But I know it's saying some thing like it's not clearly approved.

I am going to attend a H1B visa in August.

My question is,Do I need to remember the exact section or denial reason for my interview ?

Also I would like to know what kind of questions they might ask about my previous attempt and how to answer those ?

Can anyone please tell me how to prepare for an interview ?

Thank you

New I-94 not issued in Canada border via land

Hi,

Few of our friends along with me entered Vancouver (Canada) via land in a visitor visa (one time entry) for 3 days. While entering Canada Border the officer verified all the documents and asked for how many days the trip is and allowed.

While returning back to US, verified the documents and let entered to US.

We all are in H1 and everyone had a valid visa.

Q: 1. Is the office supposed to keep the I-94 while we entered Canada and give us a new one when we entered US border.?

2. Will there be a problem in H1 visa extension?

Please suggest.
