H1B & H4 Visa Approved @ Mumbai
Here I go to share my H1B/H4 visa interview experience….

I had taken OFC date on 29th April, 2013(11:30) and Visa Interview date on 30th April, 2013(09:00)
29th April, 2013: Very cool because there was no any interview just fingerprints and photograph…

Our OFC time was 11:30, they allowed us to OFC center at 11:30 and we came outside at 11:45, they taken left hand 4 fingers, right hand 4 fingers and 2 thumbs finger print, also taken a photograph at same time - that’s it. OFC Done. If you fill-up DS160 in proper manner it will become a 15 mint task only. So be careful when you fill up DS160 online – enter FIRST NAME and LAST NAME same as in your passport. If you entered wrong, they have some option; in same building they have some facilities to change/modify in your application form and after that correction you can complete your OFC.

30th April, 2013: Very tense even I have all docs and complete details of my employer…..

Interview time was at 9:00 O’clock and we reached at consulate at 8:30, (it should be good for you if you reach at least 30mintus before your interview time), there were around 200 people standing in a queue outside of visa office, we also stand in a queue and waiting for our turn. After half an hour they allowed us to go inside.
After security check-in we reached at main Consulate office but there is BIG hall outside that office where we sited and waiting for our turn, almost 1 hour passed and at 10:00 they allow us to go inside the main consulate hall – it was a BIG AC hall, at the entrance they took our passport with I-797 and returned the same with paste one token number on it. Now waiting time, there are around 15 windows in single row where the US consulate taken an interview, in front of those windows around 250 chairs were there, we have to sit and waiting for our number for an interview.
There are number of Display over there so from any corner you can track your token number easily on those displays, just wait for your turn, once your turn will come your number will be showing on displays with specific window number. You should go with that window for an interview.

Interview time:

Me & my Wife: Good Morning Officer
VO: Very Good Morning
ME: passed I797 and Passport (both)
VO: Are you working in YYYY Company?
ME: No, At present I am working with YYY and once my visa get approved I will work for YYYY company
VO: How to know this YYYY Company?
ME: Answered
VO: Asking for Offer letter
ME: passed the same
VO: Asking for Support Letter
ME: Passed the same
Me: than he was playing with his system for 10 mints after that ….
VO: how much salary you will earn in US?
ME : $ ABC
VO: what is your highest qualification?
ME: B.E in Electronics and Communication
VO: Is it 4 year course right?
ME: Yes, 4 year course.
VO: How many years of exp do you have?
ME: YY years
VO: when did you got married?
ME: DD/MM/YYYY
VO: Again he start playing with his computer for another 5 minutes and at last…..he said golden word “Your visa has been approved and you get your passport in next 2-3 days”
VO not asked any question to my wife.

Note:
If your documents are clear and you are much confident, than no one can stop to clear this interview.
Be cool, confident and keep smiling when you answer the question to VO, don’t see here and there keep your eye contact with VO only.

All the best….

Last but not least …thanks to all who posted their experience on this site, it helps a lot….

H1B & H4 approved @ Hyderabad
First of all a big thanks to this forum and each individual who posted their experiences here. It was much helpful through out while I was preparing for my petition till visa interview.

Long story in a short . Earlier L1B rejection from same employer. My employer again applied for my H1B petition in May'12, got RFE in Sep'12 last, responded back RFE with asked documents just before RFE last day in Nov'12, petition approved on 11thJan'13. Interview on 1st & 2nd May.

OFC @ 12:30AM:
It was a straight forward process. Just went inside OFC center after verifying appointment letter, CEAC confirmation sheet and passports, no other documents are required. They took our photograph, finger prints and we are done. Complete in-out process took hardly 15 mins.

Counselor Interview on next day @ 10:00AM:
VO: Good Morning Sir, how are you.
Me: I am doing good, thank you.
VO: Please give me your passports only .
Me: <Our passports were clubbed together with confirmation sheets, I797, BEP letters. I have removed passport and given to her.>
VO: So which company you are working for?
Me: XYZ company
VO: How long you have being working ?
Me: X year and months <gave my total experience count >.
VO: So for which client you are going to work?
Me: ABC company.
VO: what is your highest qualification ?
Me: XYZ degree.
VO: So you have a L1B rejection earlier as well?
Me: Yes, I applied for L1B in -- year and it got rejectted stating
skills are not considered as specialized at that time.

Turning to wife:
VO: Good morning ma'm. How long you have been married?
My wife: X year, months.
VO: Was that a arrange marriage or love marriage?
wife: Arranged marriage.
VO: So How many people attended your marriage?
Wife: around 900.
VO: Ohh, wow.

Then VO turned to my 1.3 yr old son, gave a cute smile to him, saying 'He is too cute', and asked my wife to put finger for scanning. Then she asked me to scan my fingers.

And Finally VO said: I am issuing your visa. :)

We gave her a smile, greeted her 'Thank you' and then left the counter.

I would appreciate that more peoples who are referring this forum, should also come back posting their experiences to help others.

221G Visa still pending
I got my H1B petition approved in October'2012 and went for stamping on Dec'6'2012.But the VO informed me that it would be pending for admin processing. They kept passport of mine and my spouse and did not ask for any document. It is already 5 months and I am yet to get any output. The ceac website is showing last processed date as 6th Dec 2012,means they did not update it even single time.
I mailed to NIVADMIN severel times but got standard reply.I have been in USA from my previous company in 2010-2011.It is quite frustrating that they also kept our passports with them.
Any pointer to get any updates !!!!!

Thanks,
Rajib

221G- Visa approved -HYD

I attended visa interview in Dec 1st week 2012, I got 221g because they have some doubt about Employer. They said it will take 6 to 12 months to process.
Recently I got a call from Hyderabad consulate on April 04 2013 to submit some documents. I did not get any written mail asking to submit the documents. I spoke to my Employer they said we shouldn’t submit any documents until we get any written confirmation mail asking for documents.
My employer directly sent a mail to the embassy with the information regarding the call I got. They mentioned in the mail that “ Our petitioner got a call from embassy to submit the documents , can you let me know what documents you require from us to process my petitioner visa” .We didn’t get any reply for our mail. We are waiting for the written mail from the embassy to submit the documents they require. But on 15th April 2013 I again got a call from embassy stating that “we don’t require any documents from you ,we will go on with the processing of visa. We will let you know whether your visa is approved or not .Inform your employer that we don’t require any documents”.
I am confused, why did they call first asking to submit the documents later why don’t require any documents. We are wondering why they are doing like this, will they approve my visa or not
Does any one have an idea about this kind of situation? Please let me know if any one have same experience.

Here is my visa interview experience. I work for a small consulting firm so wasnt sure how the visa interview would go or would they grill me about it.

Me: Good Morning. How are you
VO: Smile
VO: <Company name> Hmm where is this
Me: Chandler
VO:Where?
Me: Chandler AZ
VO: What is your position?
Me: <Position>
VO: How much do they pay you?
Me: <Annual income plus bonus>
VO: Are you married?
ME: No i'm single
VO: How long have you been working there?
Me: 7 months
VO: How many people work in the company?
Me: 11
VO: So do you work for the company or a client?
Me: Client
VO: Whats the name of the client?
Me: <Company name> in Scottsdale AZ
VO: Okay. Where did you work before that?
Me: <Previous company name> in Phx AZ
VO: What is your degree?
Me: BS in CIS from Arizona State Univ
VO: You said your married right? (she asked me again)
Me: No i'm single.
VO: Your visa has been approved

Note: I saw a lot of H1B visa's getting rejected if someone was working for Indian IT companies Eg TCS and travelling to US. I think the major concern was the salary as they said their annual salary was 10-20 lakhs INR. So looks like the VO's dont grant a visa to people who have low Indian Salaries.

My questions are as follow

1.) How long you are working with XYZ company.
2.) Where are you going.
3.) What you do there ... he answered itself..programming...I said yes...
4.) For which client are you working
5.) Salary in USA

while I was giving answers, counselor was finding something in my passport. Once he has seen my B1 ...he closed my passport..and golden word comes....it's approved.
