H1 Visa and OFC interview - Chennai
29th Oct - OFC interview at 10:30 AM.
I was let in to OFC office by 09:50 AM. OFC process was simple. All the 10.30 AM appointments were assembled in the lift lobby. Then the last 3 digits of the passport was checked with each individual to ascertain an order in with they have to be let in for bio-metrics.

DO NOT STAPLE THE PASSPORT (if you have OLD and NEW). The security ppl at OFC are asking the individuals to remove the staples. You have a possibility of damaging the passport and your fingers, which might prevent you from going for the bio-metrics process.

Then the finger printing and the photo is taken. The entire process took close to 20 mins.

30th Oct - Consulate interview at 09:30 AM.
Had a very bad experience outside the consulate. It was pouring by the time, I reached the consulate. Luckily the auto drivers outside the consulate were selling umbrellas for Rs.100. Got one and went to the security saying that my interview is at 09:30 AM and asked him, if I can join the queue close to entrance. He said NO, please join the queue at the end. (Those who came as a family, got a reprive). I had to stand in the queue from 08.50 AM till 10:10 AM. At 10:10 AM I got into the consulate. Usual frisking happenned. Then I went to document verification section, with the token that was issued to me. The lady over the counter stapled the DS-160 form, BEP letter, passport and the token together. Verified the petition and asked me to go to Count-12 for finger printing. Once the finger printing is complete, I was asked to move the next building and I was asked to watch over the LED TV for the my token number. Once I got my token number and the counter, I went there and stood in a queue. Interview was as below.

Pleasantries.....

Officer: Who is your client
Me : answered

Officer: Which city are you going?
Me : Answered

Office : What will be your salary in dollars?
Me : YYYY X dollars

Office : What will be your designation in US?
Me : Answered appropriately

Officer took a minute time to verify the answers for above 2 questions in the petition....then continued with the below

Officer: What is your highest degree of education?
Me : Answered appropriately.

YOUR VISA IS APPROVED. You will get an SMS or EMAIL notifying you the delivery of your passport.
THANK YOU.

Overall inside the consulate, it was a nice experience. Outside it was pathetice. Cover all your documents properly, so that even during rain, none of your originals including your passport does not get wet.

Regards
Muthu

That's it.

Answers in my opinion are:

1. Give you US designation.
2. Give count of employees where you are an employee in US
3. Give your US count and then overall total count.

H1B apprved @22nd Oct
Hi All, Continuation to my experience added on 27th Oct...
I received my PP stamped within 2 days.
So even if VO is not saying approved or not dont worry ,
you will get it stamped if they are keeping your PP without issuing any 221G slip.
All the best to everyone who are waiting for interview.

Query - Required docs
Dear All,

I have just received original H1 petition from my employer. When I asked them to send me original LCA, I-129, offer letter, and client letter. Attorney said original LCA and I-129 is with USCIS, they adviced me to take printout of soft copy the same which was shared with me and show it to Visa officer. They also mentioned that VO can pull original from database.

Similarly employer asked me take printout out of offer letter and client letter.

Is this the right process? Were you give LCA, I-129, offer and client letter in original. I'm not under BEP and my employer is in US.

Appreciate your help and advice!
