H1B approved after 221g white slip
Hello Everyone,

First I would like to say thanks to immihelp for posting the experiences.

I have attended the interview in the month of August, and issued 221g white slip.

Step 1:
---------

Reached consulate by 8.30 am, my interview was scheduled at 9.30 am.

Security allowed me to consulate after checking the passport, and the time on the appointment letter.

Went inside and I saw a person assisting the people to sit on the chairs based on their interview time.

he called the people who were scheduled for 9.30 am slot.

completed security check and went inside, there I saw people were sitting out side in two different lines.

One for B1 and one for H1.

after waiting for 30 min they asked me to go to counter number 5, where they check your HDFC receipt and the photo quality on the DS160 form, they will ask us to take a photo graph again if the quality is poor.

you need not to go anywhere to take a photograph, you will find a person sitting next to the counter.

They asked me to go to counter number 9 for finger prints.

It took nearly another 30 min to complete photograph check and finger printing.

after finger print they asked me to take a token to attend the interview.

I waited for another 15 min for my turn after taking the token/

I heard my token number routed to counter number 10, I went there, there I saw three more people waiting in the queue.

Step 2:
--------

I saw all the three girls got approval.

Now its my turn.

Me: Good Morning sir, how are you doing today
VO: I am doing good, how are you
Me: I am fine (Submitted my passport, DS160)
VO: Who is your employer.
Me: ABC
VO: asked for my I 797
 and then I 129.
VO: are you going to work at client location.
Me: yes
VO: Can I have the client invitation letter
Me: submitted the invitation letter.
VO: Can I have the complete itenary
Me: Submitted
VO: what is the client name
Me: ABC
VO: Searched about the client in his system for a while.
VO: By looking at I 797 these many people work at your employer.
Me: Yes sir
VO: Do you have office photo graphs
Me: Passed photos
VO: photos looks like these many people are not working here
Me: I said I already worked there sir and I know the employer has these many people working.
VO: do you have list of the employees working there
Me: No Sir
VO: I am issuing 221g, you can send the documents to me or submit in the VFS office.
and he returned my passport, he kept all my documents submitted earlier.
The interview went for almost 25 min.

Step3:

I forwarded the 221g slip to my employer and he sent the documents mentioned in the 221g.

I have submitted all the documents along with my passport at VFS hyderabad last week.

I received my passport with H1B stamping on it.

it took around 1 week time to clear 221 g after submitting my documents.

First of all my thanks all those people who has shared their VISA interview experience on this website becasue it help me a lot while preparing for interview. Here is my experience:

I had my interview last week at Chennai Consulate:

Day 1 at OFC:

Reached 1 hours before at centre which not required at all. 15-20 min. before is more than sufficient time. It took around 30-40 minutes for me for biometric and photo because it was very crowded at my time. The person who has taken photo and biometric asked for passport and just as 2 questions : Please tell me your name and your DOB.

Day 2 at Chennai Consulate:

Reached there 45 minute before so that you will be first in the queue in your time slot. Because before apperaring for interview there are lot of verification and security checks will be there.

VISA interview questions asked from me H1:

1, Who is your employer?
2. Till how long you are working with your company?
3. Who is your client?
4. What's your client is doing?
5. What you will do for your client?
6. On what kind of project you will do over there?
7. How many team members currently you have in your project at client site?
8. What's the duration of your project?
9. What's your income over there?
10. Which place you are going in US ?

Interview questions for H4:

1. When you married?
2. Is your marriage arranged or love?
3. How you both come to know each other?

After this, VO told the golden words:
Thank you very much. Your VISA is approved and you will get SMS/e-mail within 3 days to collect your passport.

Hi All,

wanted to say thanks to this forum since the inputs here were very helpful and provided a lot of confidence. here is my experience -

Day 1 - Fingerprinting and photo. Reaching half an hour earlier than the scheduled time is enough. otherwise you will be waiting unnnecessarily outside.very easy process. just a minutes deal.

Day 2 - try to reach 45 mins earlier than the scheduled time. it helps. be patient. security checks will take some time. one more improtant thing - you can keep passport, DS160, application invitation handy. maybe in one folder. second folder can have I797 and rest of docs.
1. once you move in after security checks, they will give you a token number. it will be with you till the end of the process.
2. once your token number appears (in 5-10 minutes), you have to go to a window and give passport, ds 160 and I797. they will verify and bundle it.
3. then you have to go to counter 6 or 12 where they will verify your fingerprints. (another 10-15 minutes)
4. then they will ask you to move to the other building. you have ot wait there for another 10 -15 minutes before your number appears on one of the coutner.
5. VO are very nice people. they smile at you and greet you. you shall also do the same.
6. my interivew lasted for 15 seconds. this is what was asked -

a. Hello Sir..good morning
b. which client
c. which city
d. what will be your role at onsite
e. how much are they paying you
f. thanks..i am approving your visa. you will get your passport within a week.

so be calm, be confident and keep the documents handy. thats it :)......good luck..

H1 Interview experience
Fingerprinting and photo shooting sessions happened at the OFC on 9th October. Reach there 15-20 minutes before the scheduled time and you are cool. This is a very easy process. Others have already mentioned it.

H1 interview took place at the US Consulate on 10th October. The security procedures are strict and you have to go through them :)
After the verification of the appointment letter, DS 160 and the passport, a token number would be issued at the first counter. Next counter, they would arrange the passport, DS160 and I797 into a bundle and put a rubber band like thing in it.

At the third counter, cross verification of the finger prints would be done. Then we would be asked to move to the next building where the actual interview took place.

My interview was simple and over in a minute.

In my days before the interview I had visited these sites a lot, and wanted to contribute back :)

As everyone else says, just be confident.
