H4 Visa
Im uma having my PA on Jun 13th. I have one query and also confused about this.

1. I applied H1B Visa.
2. I applied H4 visa for my husband.
3. My husband is currently working.

My question is: do my husband need to produce any no objection letter from his current company for leaving to US on the day of PA.

How come he could resign/quit his job until we know that our visa is approved or not..

Kindly give some idea on how to deal this situation on my PA interview.

Both of us attending the visa interview on the same day!

H1 B Interview - NO SHOW Status Update
Hi All,

I had my H1 B visa Interview scheduled on May 22nd at Chennai Consulate. Due to unavoidable reasons i was not able to attend the interview.

I was informed that the Status will be updated as NO SHOW by the Consulate. We have to send a mail to VFS helpline informing them to update the status as NO SHOW.

I have sent this mail to VFS helpline on May 23rd itself. It has been almost 2 weeks now and they have not updated the NO SHOW status yet. I have also called them up and checked. They have informed that they have not got any updates from Consulate.

Has anyone faced this issue and delay. Please let me know the normal time for NO SHOW status update. Also, if there can be any reasons for the delay.

Only after the status is updated I can go to the VFS office directly to reactivate the bar code.

Thanks for your help.

H1B Visa Approved
Thanks for all the posts in Immihelp!!! It proved to be really
useful going through all the posts from you all.

Attended the visa interview on 29th May with my wife and kid in Chennai.

Had my visa interview at 8:45AM. Reached the consulate at 8:10 AM and stood in the queue.
They let us in close to 8:30AM. Got our documents checked and finger printed and were off to the
visa interviewing section.

I had actually got a job offer in US and was going to work for that company.

Waited for our turn. Few questions were asked to me and my wife.

Myself
1. Which company are you going to?
2. What kind of company is it?
3. What is your designation?
4. Can I have your Petition and LCA?

to my wife
1. Who is this person you are travelling with?
2. Was it a arranged marriage or love marriage?

My 2 yr old kid was starting to make some funny sounds. I tried to calm him down and the VO
said 'Its alright. I've got kids too'.

Then he handed me the white pamplet and asked me if i knew what it was. I said No.
Then he said that your visa is almost approved waiting for the computer to do the
verification in the backend.

And thats it..he said 'You are done!!!'.

Few pointers to people going for interview.
1. Prepare well. Immihelp is a gr8 website to check for others experiences and questions asked. I gained confidence after going thru this site.
2. Never panic. Be Cool.
3. Dont get intimidated by others results. Just be confident in what you answer.

Best of Luck.

H4
My wife going for H4 stamping.

1. Is it required to send the I-129 and labor certification documents when going for H4 visa stamping along with primary applicant’s I-797?

2. Would they look for H1 amendment requirement when going for H4 stamping?
