H4 Visa interview
My wife and daughter attended H4 interview on Dec 13, 2011.

My scenario was bit difficult. I work on Employee-Vendor-Vendor-Client model and am currently working for a different client now than what was used to get approval for my H1 extension. I was little bit concerned if they are going to ask for H1 amendment etc...

Here are the questions that were asked to my wife and daughter:

Before fingerprinting the following documents were asked.
a. passport copies, confirmation page, I797 of the principal applicant

Vo officer to my wife :
a. Hi How are you ?
b. Which company is your husband working ?
c. How long is he in US ?
d. How much is he earning ?
e. Can I have look at his paystubs ?
f. How long have you been married ?
g. Have you been to US before?
h. Which place are you going ?

Daughter:
a. How old are you ?
b. Which grade are you ?
c. Are you studying in US ?

Then she said to both that "your visa is approved and have a nice Vacation"!!

So if the paystub has decent gross salary and employer is Ok then there shouldn't be any problem in getting the approval.

All the best!!

Thanks,
Arun

EVC Model - Admin processing
Hi everyone

I attended H1B renewal interview on 1st Nov 2011 at Chennai consulate. He kept my passport with him and does not give any 221g form.

When I called VFS helpline couple of times they are saying it is under processing.

My Questions are,
1. Since my vacation is over i started working from India but my client raised legal concerns that is it legally allowed to work from India and get paid in US due to visa processing issues.

I checked with my attorney, they said it s legal. But my client wants in USCIS website/journal in written proof stating that it is legal to work and get paid in US.

Where I can find the link in USCIS website states the same. If you any one knows the link please let me know asap.

2. Any one gone under the same situation as me and how long it took to get the passport.

my email id: [email protected]

Thanks in advance for ur help.

Visa Approved - H1B
Thanks to all the prior posts here, my visa interview was a breeze.

Security check took around 45 mins, after which i was led to a similar waiting room with multiple counters.

Remember this - There are 100 other ppl waiting for their interview, thus the VO's hardly have enough time to ask a lot of questions.

The questions asked to me were straightforward. In fact, they dint even ask me which company is sponsoring my visa.

1) Have you travelled to US before ? No
2) Are you working for a client ? Yes, gave my project name
3) Where are you posted out of ? Gave my place
4) What is your salary? $ X per annum
5) Did you read the white pamphlet ? Yes

Then the golden words - " Your Visa is approved ! Have a safe journey ! "

Approved H1 visa on 13thDec-2011 on Mumbai
Hi All,

First of all I would like to say thanks a bunch to immihelp to give us oppertunity to share our experience with others and all the people who shared it.

I went Mumbai (BKC) for stamping yesterday. On the gate of US consulate, one security gard check my passport and interview confirmation letter. Then he asked for HDFC bar code. He pasted that code on back side of the passport and return me the passport. Then I went inside where one lady pasted the token on front cover of the passport. Then I have gone through the security check followed by the finger print.

Then they asked me to sit and wait for my turn. There were total 42 windows and monitor. On monitor they were displaying token no. My no. got displayed after waiting for an hour.

My interviewer was a lady. She asked me following questions:
What is your current organization?
Where are you going in US?
What is your role?
Who is your client?
Who is your onsite manager?
He is from which company?
What will be your salary?
How many people are in US from your company?
Are you married or single?

And finally she said I am keep your passport with me which you will get in 2 days and she returned my original petition to me.

Today (14th Dec, 2011) I got the passport with stamped.

New H1B Petition and stamping
Hi,

I got h1b visa petition approved. This is my 1st time with H1b. I have b1 visa. I am preparing for my visa interview at New Delhi Consulate. I will be working at my employer's office, which is an IT consulting firm. They have internal and client's projects both, similar to the IT companies like in India.

I have following questions according to my petition, please help :

1) In employer's letter with petition, client name is not mentioned but projects are mentioned. But my work location will be employer / petitioner 's office. Is it really important to mention client in petition?

2) Employer's internal project is also not mentioned in petition but my employer is providing me project description and employer letter on the internal project. Will it be a problem?

I have some more questions but above mentioned are important to me. Please help

Regards
