H1B Experience - 12 Dec Chennai Consulate
Hello There, good day to everyone.
first of all a very big thank you for all out here for sharing their experiences , which made me feel confident.
well, here it goes ..
Today I had my H1 B interview at the chennai consulate. After all the documents verification / fingerprint etc. I just took my token , docs and moved to the next building which has super steel doors :)
Here is how the interview went:
Me: Good Afternoon, how are you doing today ?
Vo: I'm doing good thank you, how are u?
Me: I'm good, thank you for asking. and passed over the docs ..
She took my docs, and punched in some no etc on her computer.
Vo: so sir where are you working
Me: abcdefg
Vo: How long have u been working with abcdefg sir.
Me: x years
Vo: where are you going in US
me: city,state
Vo: how long are u plan to work there.
me: xxx months
Vo: what will you do there ?
me: blah blah. stories on SDLC.. etc
Vo: have u been to US before.
me: answered
Vo: sir, ur visa is approved you shud get ur pasport in a week or less have a safe trip to USA.
Me: thank you very much ,have a nice day
Vo: thank you, good bye

Appearing for H1 visa.. In my petition ,petitioner mentioned Consulate as Hyderabad. But my company fixed appointment for visa interview at Chennai Consulate..Please advise me can I appear in Chennai for visa approval even though in petition consult as Hyderabad

I went for my H1B renewal with family.Following questions were asked.
1.which city?
2.which company?
3.which company sponsored my earlier H1B?
4.What kind of products and who are the customers for the previous company?
strangely VO was asking about previous company instead of current company.
No questions to my wife.
No documents were asked.
Visa is approved.

VISA only for 9 months
Hi All,
I got H1 VISA stamped only for 9 months as my petition validity was for 9 months.
Post expiry of VISA will I have to get a new VISA or get VISA renewed?
For getting it Renewed will I have to come back to India?

Waiting for passport
I have attended for my H1B & H4 visa interview on 5th Dec. Mine is a product based company in US and its been a client for my current employer.
Questions asked by VO:
1. Will you be working for xxx??
2. How much salary??
3. Have you been to US ?
(I have been there 4 times on B1 and spent 5 months couple of times each. )
4. How much time did you spend??
5. What did you do 5 months??Were you working in US??
(It took two mins to convince him)
To my wife:
6. How long have you been married?
7. What will you do in US?Are you going to work there??
Finally, VO said "your visa is approved".
I have recieved my wife's passport on 7th Dec, but I haven't recieved mine.
Is anyone had the same situation before??
