My wife and our 7 month old baby had their visa interview on Oct 20 at 8.45 am in Chennai US consulate. She carried all the documentation posted on immihelp. She carried a small album of about 25 pictures of our wedding.
VO asked the following questions:
• When did you get married?
• Why are you visiting US?
That’s it. Visa approved for both of them. None of the documents were asked by VO, except for the Passport. They are travelling pretty soon to stay with me here.
It was a breezy experience for her and they give preference to candidates with infants/toddlers. So all of you be confident and attend the interview without any panic. Good luck
Note – Just in case you are not aware, Baby and my wife had to have filled separate DS160 forms and then pay the HDFC fee for each of them.

Finally i got a chance to share my Experience .........
First of all i would like to thank each and everyone who are posting their experiences here which really helps to prepare well and confidently proceed with the different levels at the consulate .
Today i had my intreview scheduled at 10.00 am but reached the consulate by 8.30 which i thought was too early :) , but they allowed me to go inside by 8.45.
Done with the security checks by 9.00 and entered the documents verification with the token num given at the entrance.
The Documents verification is done and if ur photo is not clear or not recent they would ask you for a new photo which they provide there at a cost of Rs100.
Next would be the finger printing , the people ther would guide at all the times so no need to worry :)
Next would be the interview ...... just seated at the waiting hall for my number to come and could hear the lady asking questions to each member at the counter 25 .
She was very clear and was issuing more number of visas(ofcourse there were couple of rejections), Luckily i got the same window and below are the questions :
Which company are you working for ?
Since how many years ?
what is ur highest educational qualification ?
who is your client ?
which city are you travelling to ?
What would you do there ?
What is your project?
thats it ..... it dint last for atlest 2 min .. and heard her saying you will recieve your passport in a weeks time.
Just arrange your documents in a proper order and be confident ,clear.

Filing H1/H4 Visa Online Appointment Experience
Today I scheduled visa stamping at New Delhi US Consulate. Issue I faced (twice) that on the page where you see primary applicant name, and if you are traveling with family members, then you need to add information about family members too, at that time after filing family member's information, somehow I dont see primary application information on the same page. I was very surprised. I spoke to some friends and they said that it is OK, all family members name doesn't appear on the page. However, I wasn't convinced, so I tried 3 times and third time I was able to see all family members name on the page. Then continued to the next screen to select visa appointment date at New Delhi USA Consulate.
I thought to share this weird experience.
Suggestion: While traveling with family, make sure you see all family members (if you want to go together for visa stamping) before confirming visa appointment date.

H1B Visa- BEP Employer @ Mumbai Consulate: Approved
I had my H1B visa interview today @Mumbai. Thanks to this site for providing such valuable information. Here is my experience:
- Its always better to take the lounge service as it will save you a lot of hassle. I observed that as soon as we reached the consulate from the lounge we were immediately asked to join the queue to enter the facility. It took total 5 minutes of waiting time here.
- When you enter the office you need to keep only the appointment letter and passport in your hand. You will then go for the security check. If you are carrying only the documents that this will take hardly any time.
- An executive will then collect your appointment letter and will issue the token number. In my case, she also provided me with the documents my company had already sent. Next step is fingerprints. Once done you need to wait for your token no. to be called.
- Biggest lesson: Confidence, along with honesty is the best policy.
- A smile can make the difference :)
I waited for 1.5 hours for my turn and my interview lasted for only 2 minutes. Here are the questions:
1. How much time have you spent with XYZ (my company)?
2. What is your designation at XYZ?
3. Do you have a master's degree or a bachelor's degree?
Me: Clarified that I have a bachelors and a post graduate diploma
4. What is your bachelors degree?
5. In which stream do you have your bachelors?
6. Which is the client?
"Your visa is approved. Your passport will reach you in 7 days" :) :) :)

VO looked at my LCA to verify if the Client and Vendor name I said were on LCA.. Believe me he did not even ask for a single document and said everything looks fine and you should get your passport in a weeks time.

I have attended H1B extension interview in Chennai consulate today.
He told he need to check some details with my employer regarding middle vendor. He neither gave any slip or did not say it is approved or not approved etc.
Below is the conversation,
1. Who is your client
I told my client name.
2. Is there any middle vendor in between?
I told Yes, there is a middle vendor and the name
3. Is middle vendor mentioned on the petition which filed for extension?
I told I dont know. He checked in the petition and his computer
then he told it is not mentioned. He wants to check with the employer.
4. How many of my company employees works on the same project?
I told I am the only one.
5. He asked to whom you are reporting to?
I told my manager name.
6. Where my manager works from?
I told he works from New Jersey (Different than where I am working).
At the end of the intw,
He told that he is holding my application and he wants to check with employer regarding middle vendor.
He has not given any slip or anything. He told he will send the
information to the employer and update in couple of days. He held back
my passport and the other documents with him.
Is there any one had similiar experience?
