No status change from Dec 17th Hyderabad
My dependents given interview on Dec 17th and the counselor said the cases are approved. But since from then the status remains same as Admin processing. Is it taking this much long these days? Is any one else waiting more than a week after visa interview?

H1B - Administrative Processing - 221g
Hi,

Background :

- Current visa stamped on the passport is valid till 30 JAN 2020
- Recent extension got approved and valid from 31 JAN 2020 till JUN 2022

Due to recent India visit, company visa team told me to go for extension stamping.

Dec 06 : Dropbox
Dec 11 : Collected Passport - 221g asked to appear for interview
Dec 19 : Attended interview - Administrative Processing (VO told me that the issue is with barcode scanning)
Dec 20 : CEAC website last updated - Administrative Processing
Dec 26 : Collected passport from VAC - 221g asking for additional documents from petitioner

I changed my return travel ticket date from 27 DEC to 17 JAN 2020 due to this issue.

1. Is anyone facing similar issue ?
2. Is anyone know the current timeline for administrative processing ?
3. Can i travel to US on my currently stamped valid visa before expiry ?

Thanks.

From F1 visa to H1B visa: 221 g administrative processing
Hi,

I had my visa interview on 12/26/2019. VO asked me where I am based in US? What is the name of the company I am working for? What is my Job title and salary? Since when I am working for this company? For how many months I woeked on OPT? I answered to all these questions and I was confident I would get the approval but to my surprise VO asked me if I am doing my PHD or 2nd Masters and I answered No and then VO told me your visa is put on hold and gave me 221 g white slip and told me to collect the slip and finally told I am all set to go

I just checked my status and it is saying 'Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview'.

Not sure what is going on? Anyone with similar experience or have any knowledge on this kind of case please help!

Hello,

We attended interview on 13th Nov and visa got approved. My wife (H4) received her passport in 2 business days after interview but I didn't receive yet. No 221 g and no slip but my case is in administrative processing since than.

Recently my case got updated on 23rd dec, but still in administrative processing.

Anyone in similar situation? any idea what would have happened?

H4 visa in admin processing
Hello All,

I have a very strange situation here .Me and my husband attended h1 and h4 visa interview at hyd consulate on dec 20,2019. we are married for 9 years.i am in US for past 9 years.we have 2 us citizens kids.FYi..I also work on H4 Ead for past 4 years
Never got any visa rejected.this is my 3 rd H4 visa and got 221g white slip.
My husbands h1b approved and also issued and passport is in transit. He is a FTE and never got any h1 issues it’s a straight interview for him and got approved.
They asked simple questions to me and did another interview about h1b I applied in 2014.which is strange. The petition in 2014 is denied too and I never worked on it.They gave 221g and also returned my passport..Even my previous stamping is on H4.iIt is from Chennai consulate.when I visited India in 2014 i had h4 stamping.
So a case which is genuine and deserves a h4 to join my husband and kids got 221g..

So please suggest on how to approach embassy to issue my visa sooner. We just came here to visit parents. We have to go back by 6 th as my kids school start from 6 th after Holidays.I have to go with them to take care and support them. So this very disappointing and disheartening as I can’t leave two little kids to care alone there when I am stuck here.

I 539 - Biometrics taken on October 3, 2019, H4 approval awaited
Biometrics were completed for H4 visa, I 539 on October 3, 2019. Status shows ' Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken'
Is there anyone else with the same visa type and same timeline seeing this status?
How much time does it usually take to get H4 approved after the biometrics?
Any pointers would help. Thanks
