I got my first H1B visa stamped 2 weeks back in Mumbai and I arrived in Dallas on 27 Dec. The CBP officer gave me stamp with 'admit until date' of PP expiration (March 2021) while my visa stamp was until Sep 2021. What are my options here to utilize the full visa stamp duration of until Sep 2021. When should I renew my PP ? Will that affect the admit until date. Please suggest.

Approved after 221g Hyderabad Dec 26 2019
Hello All,
Sharing my experience here as this was helpful while reading other experiences.
I came back for visa renewal after 5 years. I was avoiding india trip because of 221g delays.
And when I attended interview on Dec 26, I got 221g after basic questions (employment, salary, designation, location). Second check-box additional administrative processing was selected. It was white color slip but the color of paper does not matter I guess. they randomly pick the paper.
On 26th and 27th Dec the status online was saying "Administrative processing".
By 27th evening the status changed to "Issued". I am waiting for further progress and collect back the passport with the stamp mostly by early next week. Meanwhile having a relax weekend on Dec 28th and 29th. Looking forward for Happy new year.
Please ping me if you need any inputs. Wishing best for everyone. Good luck all.

Ds 160 -H1 to H4
Hi , my wife went to India for H1B stamping with 2 months of approval notice and her COS denied . VO gave 221g and asked to submit the extension document. Her employer sent an email to VO with certified LCA which going to use to file her extension once she is in this country. Later VO asked to submit her passport which She did 2 weeks back , but we haven’t heard anything back from consulate .my wife H1B valid end date is 12/31/2019 which is four days away from today . So I am planning to apply her H4 visa . Below are few of my questions .

1. What should we mention at current employer field if I select primary occupation as computer software .
She don’t have an employer at this moment and stopped working from Dec 7th .

Or can we choose primary occupation as Home maker even though she worked 2 years in USA .

Please provide your suggestions .

No updates since. I was not given 221g at any point but the ceac website says admin processing with last update on 19th (interview date).
ustraveldocs passport status says: There is no status update available for the passport number submitted

Anyone had a similar experience?

No status change from Dec 17th Hyderabad
My dependents given interview on Dec 17th and the counselor said the cases are approved. But since from then the status remains same as Admin processing. Is it taking this much long these days? Is any one else waiting more than a week after visa interview?

H1B - Administrative Processing - 221g
Hi,

Background :

- Current visa stamped on the passport is valid till 30 JAN 2020
- Recent extension got approved and valid from 31 JAN 2020 till JUN 2022

Due to recent India visit, company visa team told me to go for extension stamping.

Dec 06 : Dropbox
Dec 11 : Collected Passport - 221g asked to appear for interview
Dec 19 : Attended interview - Administrative Processing (VO told me that the issue is with barcode scanning)
Dec 20 : CEAC website last updated - Administrative Processing
Dec 26 : Collected passport from VAC - 221g asking for additional documents from petitioner

I changed my return travel ticket date from 27 DEC to 17 JAN 2020 due to this issue.

1. Is anyone facing similar issue ?
2. Is anyone know the current timeline for administrative processing ?
3. Can i travel to US on my currently stamped valid visa before expiry ?

Thanks.

From F1 visa to H1B visa: 221 g administrative processing
Hi,

I had my visa interview on 12/26/2019. VO asked me where I am based in US? What is the name of the company I am working for? What is my Job title and salary? Since when I am working for this company? For how many months I woeked on OPT? I answered to all these questions and I was confident I would get the approval but to my surprise VO asked me if I am doing my PHD or 2nd Masters and I answered No and then VO told me your visa is put on hold and gave me 221 g white slip and told me to collect the slip and finally told I am all set to go

I just checked my status and it is saying 'Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview'.

Not sure what is going on? Anyone with similar experience or have any knowledge on this kind of case please help!
