Successful H1 Stamping @ Chennai on 11th Jan,2007
Hello All,
First of all, I would like to thank this site and each and everyone who are posting their responses and Expereiences..It really helped me alot to prepare well...
My appointment is schedule at 09:15A.M at Chennai on 11 th january 2008..I have reached US consulate at 9:00 AM.There is no crowd as much..
I have shown My appointmet letter, Passport and HDFC receipt (Yellow one) to the secutiry guard at the entrance...He checked them and allowed me inside...
Then I entered into the first building, there is one person who is guiding us to stand at any one of the counters...At this counter, there is one person who asked to submit the below documents:
1.DS 156
2.DS 157
3.Appointmet letter
4.Passport
5.HDFC Yellow Receipt
6.All H1 Related docs(To specify clearly...I797,LCA,I129,Employer letters,etc...)
He verified DS156 and 157 and kept all the above mentioned docs in a folder, asked for the finger prints of
1)Left hand 4 fingers(except thumb finger)
2)Right hand 4 fingers(except thumb finger)
3)Finally, both the thumb fingers...You can inform to this person if there are any mistkes in the DS forms...he will round those and updates with the correct information...Once everything is done, he has given me the folder with the docs and asked me to go to another building....
I went into another building , there were few persons standing n asking to take the seat...They will be calling us to stand in the queue based on the appointment time...When I entered this building, appointments for 8.45AM slot are going on...I waited there till 10.15Am and joined the queue...There are around 7 counters operating at that time,u can observe how the interview proces is going n can c how the people are responding to VO's questions...after waiting alomst 45 minutes in QUEUE, My turn came for interview process .
VO : Hello, How are you??
ME : Hi, gud and how about you?? and has given him the folder
VO : He has gone through the I797 and asked ur working in YYYY company.
ME : Yes, since XX months
VO : What are your responsibilities in present company?
ME : Explained...
VO : Can you tell me about the comapnies where you all worked so far...
Me : Explained...
VO : What will you be doing at US office(i.e.position and responsibilities)
Me : Explained him the position and responsibilities
VO : Asked about the project
Me : Explained the project and asked him to refer the project spec attached to the docs
Finally,he asked me to give my left hand index finger for scanning...
V0 : He has given back my H1 papers saying the GOLDEN words "your case is approved"
ME : I said thankq and left the counter...
My sincere advice to all of you who will be going for stamping are as follows:
1.First n foremost..Jus treat the interview process as formal discussion and boost yourself with full of confidence..The way how you respond to VO's questions is the only thing that fetches you the visa....SO you should be confident enough to give answers to VO without any hesitation or tense...N also keep in mind that he is not at all a technical person to understand whatever you say...He will just look for your confidence levels..nothing else...
2. When u stand in the queue, jus observe the VO's questions and to the responses given by applicants..Never look at the output of the discussion...(Approved or rejected or query..)..If u take the output into consideration, no doubt u will be in trouble...To tell u all about my experience, I was standing at counter3, before me there were around 20 applicants being rejected or got query..So i was tensed to move further n thought my case will also receive a query but got approved...It all depends on the docs u have and the way how you respond...
3. Start the conversation with a sweet smile and a Greetings..(Say HI with a smile on your face)
4. Once you are done, whatever may be the output accept it with heart, jus wish him a gud day n leave the counter...
5. Carry all required documents...I carried (DS 156,DS 157,Appointmet letter,Passport,HDFC Yellow Receipt,All H1 Related docs(To specify clearly...I797,LCA,I129,Offer letter,Invitation Letter, letter mentiong there is a open position for the requirement, Project Spec,Company snaps),Experience letters, education docs, last 3 months payslips n bank statements supporting the same and Resume)
VO did not asked me to show even any other documents, he jus looked at the 797...Interview process just took around 8 mins...
Once gain, thanks for all your support and wish you all the best..
Hi All,
Sorry for the late posting.
My interview was on 27th dec 8:30am.
I reached there on 8:00am.
After all famalities...
I was in que for 20 min.
Mean while I observed that VOs were taking 20 min for each interview.
I was preparing myself for that.
They were asking even about our finantial background also.Because they want to know whether we can servive in US or not.
One white lady was there who was asking with one guy how much money you prepared to servive over there.
he answerd some 15laks she asked how did u earned this he replied around 7l i saved from my job and remaining my father gave.then she asked how u r father got this money & what he is ,for that he expained his family detais and financial backgound.I confused little bit because I did not prepared for these questions.
From then onwards I stopped listening those interviews Because I am getting tense.I left all to GOD.
Finally I got my chance.
