Got H1b visa after transferring h1 approval after getting 221g from first comp
Many of us want to know after we get a 221g that is it possible to change your employer(transfer h1b) from india and the answer to that is 'Yes' .

Got 221g from first company transfered my h1b approval to a new company from india got visa successfully from second company at chennai consulate

Hello All, Like most of the sofware engineers out there even i had a dream of working for a company in USA .So after having a work experience of around a year a i started to search for companies willing to hire me and therefor file a petition on my behalf.I gave a telephonic interview for a whole bunch of body shopping companies and so called consultancy companies and cleared all of them. Most of these body shopping companies ask for a caution deposit of some amount i am sure all of you would be aware of that so the challenge was to find out a company who would not ask for any such deposit that would mean the company is good enough that ,was my way of looking at a company .Ofcourse i did go and google about the company. Finally i decided to go with a company by the name of AIM COMPUTER CONSULTING located in Livonia Michigan. http://www.aim-cc.com/ . These people they didnt ask for any deposit and filed my papers .I was lucky enough to get through the lottery and finally got an approval around may 2007. I got all the paperwork from AIM-CC around august and finally booked a visa interview appointment on 5th oct. This company did not send their tax returns and had prepared a completely bogus inhouse project .When i requested them to send the tax returns and unemployment wage report they replied saying that these cannot be sent at this stage they will only be sent whey you get a query(221g). So when i appeared for the interview i got blue 221g asking for additional documents from my petitioner.Although i was asked to submit just 4 documents from my petitioner these people stopped replying to my email and phone calls too. Finally i decided to find out if h1b transfer from india is possible even after getting 221g and the answer to that is 'YES' h1b can be transferred to a new company and if the transfer is filed in premium processing the entire process takes hardly ten days to get a new approval.Since we already have a valid h1b approval the new petition can be filed anytime and we are not subject to cap.My new company filed my h1b transfer in the first week of dec i got my approval around second week of december .Even before receiving my documents through FedEx i booked my appointment on 31st december and got my visa .

My Interview Exp

After taking the blue packet from me.

VO:Sir i see that you already have one application active ,have you withdrawn this application.

Me: Maam i have written to emails to [email protected] saying that i wanted to withdraw my application.

Vo: Sir the info has not yet been updated in the system .I would like you to write in a piece of paper that you would like to withdraw your aplication.

Me:I will do that maam.( In a paper handed by the VO i wrote that I would like to withdraw my application from AIM-CC)

Vo:Sir so for how long have you been working for xx(my current company in india)

Me: I have been working for YY months.Vo:Sir your passport will be sent to you in a weeks time and all the best to you.

Me: ThankYou maam and a very happy new year to you. Note: My project was an inhouse project but i wasnt asked any question about my project.
Important:So for all those people who have got a 221g and have not yet recieved any documents from your petitioner or who have submitted their documents but no response from the consulate. If you guise are interested and dont want waiste your time ....let me know about it by sending me your resume and your current status to [email protected].

Evaluate your needs before coming to USA
Hi All
Thanks to Immihelp which made me to get my visa on first attempt itself. I got the VISA around one year back. Now you may think that why this guy is posted his experience now? I will clarify.

Friends, whenever I read the experiences in this forum, generally I am seeing the quotes as 'OH, GOD, Finally I got the visa'and "Luck is not favoured me to get the VISA" etc.

What I am trying to say is, donot give that much importance to this. Its only one opportunity in life.
I too had given this much importance and thought that, getting VISA will bring tremendous change in life, which is not true.

I think, most of the persons are moved from district headquarters to cities in INDIA to do software job. But by keeping away from native place, people will usually earn around 10 times more in city than in district [for example 5 thousand in district and 50k in cities]
But moving away from India city to USA will wonot help you to earn that much amount with the decreasing of dollar value on day to day.

If people are coming from consultancy, then on an average, it will take 2 months time to get the job
They wonot pay any flight expenses.
On first one year, people genrally get around 3300 dollars to 4000 dollars in hand.
If you are batchelor, then there is chance to save more money for example around 2k, But if you are with family then , monthly expenses will come around 2800 dollars in areas like Boston, NewYork etc.
If you planned any India trip once per two years, then every saving will go off.
Now a days because of demand and supply, most of the clients are not allowed to bill for extra hours.
Till now I worked for 3 clients, amont them two clients are not having coffee machine also because of cost cutting.
In general on bench period no one will pay the salary.

Yes, I too agree that roads, hotels every thing will be clean and good. But at the same time remember that you have to do every work from bathroom cleaning to car tire change [We did painting also for our house. . People who spent around 10 hours on office and doing this work means horrible. We can contract it to others, but it is too expensive.

But there are so many positive points
1. health care is good. Insurance will directly pay to the pharmacy. No need to run for blood and oxyzen on emergency like in India. with in 10 minutes emergency will respond
2. We will always get seat in train/bus [opposit in India , not only in Bangalore buses, but also in the software comapny runned shuttes. I worked one big company, where is always luck to get the seat in bus speciall at 6pm]
3. crime rate is ver low
4. lot of educational opportunities.

So, bottom line is , there is POSITIVE and NEGATIVE, but compare to all the things its not that much attractive in terms of money saving. But it is very attractive on life style.

suggestion: Check with atleast 5 people who are in USA, before you come here [donot check with people who are here since 5 years, check with the people who are here since 2 years.]

Got H1B Visa @ Chennai Consulate
Hi Frnds,

Thanks a lot for the moderators of this site which is helping thousands of US Visa aspirants getting their experiences @ one platform. Also like to thank all who have shared their experiences which has helped me a lot to prepare for those thoroughly.

My interview was at 9:45am on 26th of this month @ chennai consulate. i reached their a day before as mine was in the morning. I prepared all for all the questions i got from this site and took all the doc's mentioned in this site. Its was about 500 pages doc's. I reached their by 9:30am but it was moving very slow the line outside where the initial checking of ur passport n visa appointment letter will be checked. Guys be prepared to stay around 3-4 hrs in total. U dont get anything inside except some soft drinks. After the initial checkup and security check i went inside and stood in line for the finger printouts and checking of ur basic docs ( Passport,DS156,DS157,HDFC Fee Receipt, Visa Appointment Letter ) and extra docs ( I797B,I129 Petitioner,LCA ). Here the officer said i had some green color on my eye brows and the photo is not accepted and asked for any other photo. I didn't had so he suggested to get one and can use the VFS services which has a van outside. I went out and got into that and it took to their office and i took a photo and they gave in 15 min's and charged Rs.100 for 4 copies. They again dropped at the consulate. Now i went directly inside and again stood in the line of same counter where i was standing previously. He checked and put my docs in the Blue folder ( any color doesnt matter ) and gave back to me and asked to move next building. I went and sat their but as i was late the VFS person asked for the people who has appointment before 10am. So i got up and stood in the line. I observed all the counters ( there were 4 ) and all are issuing and was kool. Just one person before me they all changed and new persons came. I thought how these people would be, but again thought who ever may be i will be confident and face what ever may be the result.

I saw a strange thing while in the line. One person, i think he has experience related to airplanes. To his fate the interviewer was an ex-military person and has some knowledge on airplanes. He asked some technical stuff related to that. But the poor guy couldn't answer the basic questions. So he said i cant issue the Visa as you dont know basic things also. So guys be prepared for TECHNICAL interview as well.

Now my turn came. It went like this...

VO : Hi
Me : Good Afternoon with a smile ( Most important )
VO : How are doing SIR
Me : Fine. How abt U.
Vo : Fine.
Vo : Whatz ur bachelors ?
me : Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Comm. Engg. ( dont tell short.... expand fully ur degree )
Vo : What r u gng to do ?
Me : I told abt my designation and abt the project.
Vo : Can i have the project desc ?
Me : Yes and gave it
Vo : Is it inhouse or client project ?
Me : Inhouse product
Vo : Have u sold this one? who is the client ?
Me : Not yet sold. Once we complete then we sell and its a generalised one and useful for all schools
Vo : thatz great. Can i have ur Wage Reports ?
Me : Unemployment Wage Reports ?
Vo : yes.
me : Gave for 2 quarters
Vo : She saw for abt 5 mins .. was checking some thing in the system and comparing in both quarters....
Vo : then she told i am issuing ur visa and will be couriered in a weeks time.
Me : Thanks ... Happy New Year....

Took my docs and left the place....

I got my Visa stamped through courier on 29th.

Thatz how it went frndsss.... what i observed is have all the docs from ur employer and be confident as they will not reject at once unlike student visa. At most they put query they want any docs. If you all docs you definately get the Visa.

And more over even if you dont get ..... dont get depressed... after all its not the end of life as IT is booming in INDIA also with good packages...

Any way ALL THE BEST for all who are yet to attend the visa.

If you have any doubts u can reach me @ 099499 01430 or email @ [email protected].
I would be pleased to help you out.
