Got 221g in Chennai Consulate
HI Everyone,

This website helped me a lot and I was well prepared for the interview, but got 221g.What I feel is Chennai Consulate is very strict and u have to get all the docs from yr employer to get visa.I did not have any docs like the income tax report, unemployment wage report etc.

All the starting is same as we all read in no of exps.

Don't get tensed there is nothing over there. There are many people and as we see that crowd we don't feel tensed at all.

I used to have a douth that can we understand what the VO is speaking with us as they speak in their slang. But no worries abt that as well.U can clearly understand what the VO says.

My interview was on 9th Jan at 8:00 a.m
It went on like this.(It was a lady VO)

Me:Good Morning Mam and Wish u Happy New Year
Vo:Good Morning,THanks and same to u
VO:What is the visa u are applying for?
me:For H1-B mam
Vo:What is the highest degree ?
me:B-Tech
Vo:How much exp do u have?
me XX yrs
Vo:Can I see yr degree certificate and experience letter?
me:Yes mama,sure
Vo:So u are working in XYH company?(its a MNC)
me:Yes mam
Vo:Since how many yrs are u working there?
me:qwe months
Vo:Why do u want to quit yr job?
me:For more global exposure and as I will get opportunity to work with different kind of people in different enviorment
Vo:what is yr husband doing?
me:looking after our agriculture lands(but he is in IT field)
Vo:WHat do u know abt the company:
me:Bhal......Bhal....
Vo:IS it a in-house project or client project u are going for?
me:Its in-house mam,I have the project description shall I show it to u?
vo:Yes
Vo:how many people are working in this project?
me:10 memebers
Vo:Then the rest of the employees are working in client place?
me:Sorry mam,I don't have an idea abt that
Vo:what are the projects previously done in the US Comany?
me:Sorry mama I don't have any idea
Vo:What r the clients of yr employer?
me: YYYY XXx
VO:Do have comany tax reurns
me: No mam
VO:U got H4 visa but did not go to US Why?
me:I was in the middle of my academics so was not able to go.
VO:How did u get this H4 visa?
me:My dad had H1 so I got H4?
VO:what is yr dad doing:
me: YYYY ZZZ
VO:WHich state are u going to work?
me PA
VO:OK mama,I am not getting clear idea on the company so I need these docs and she ticked all those docs and told me to drop down in drop-box.

It was around 20-25 mins and I answered all the answers confidently but still I got query.
Now I am worried if my employer will send those docs or not.

As I have gone through this situation what I suggest u all is u should have atleast income tax returns and unemployment wage report from yr employer if u are going for in -hous project.

Please the guys who had this query plz help me ?Did u get visa when u submitted the docs?
Please suggest me

Thanks,
Bye
And ALL THE BEST

About Appoinments
Dear Friends,
To reserve an appointment at any other consulate that native or local consular district, there should not be any available slots in native consulate.

That is, people from AP, Kar, TN, Kerala can take an appointment at Delhi or Mumbai, only if
 >> There are no slots available in Chennai Consulate.
 >> You speak english.

Hope this is of some use.

Issue on scheduling appointment
Iam a resident of Hyderabad Andhra Pradesh. I had taken an appointment at the Chennai counsellate on Jan 23. Inorder to have an appointment at New Delhi I cancelled my Chennai appointment and tried for the new appointment. I filled the DS 156 and DS 157 formats and finally arrived at the calendar page, which showed the schedule post of January at chennai. On clicking next (>) on the calendar I got the dates of February at Chennai. Once again on clicking next (>) on the calendar I could get the schedule of February at New Delhi. From those dates I selected Feb 8 and continued the confirmation process. To my surprise I was alloted an appointment on Feb 8 at Chennai Counsellate instead of New Delhi.

Not knowing where the mistake has happened I tried to reschedule my appointment date and this time I selected Feb 9 at New Delhi but was alloted Feb 9 at Chennai counsellate. Iam herewith attaching the snapshots of my second attempt to have an appointment at New Delhi. Unnecessarily I had to forgo a chance of cancellation and rescheduling of my appointment dates due to this error.

So friends pls let me know if any got the same situation?

Help Required
I have attended my H1b interview in November 2006, but I was given 221g AAP, my I797 is with them including my experience letters (I don’t know how long it will take for the administrative process), My husband is having H1b interview in February, now can I go along with my husband on H4 for the interview, if so what will happen to my H1b petition or can we cancel H1 petition when it is in Additional Administrative Processing.
If I can cancel the petition what is the procedure.

I am very much worried and concerned,
Can any one please help me out.

H1B approval after 3 queries ( one in US and two in chennai)
Hi every one here is my experience in chennai counsulate .

I attended for visa on october 11 th . The person who took my interview was an old lady. when she started interview she first asked my certificates . Then about the company which i am going to work for . She went inside with my certificates asking me to wait . Then she came back with a blue form and marked all the options as documents needed . I had all the docs except tax returns for previous year .
she asked me to drop the documents thru VFS and asked not to come back to chennai .

on NOV 1 , 2006

i dropped all the documents she asked again it came back on NOV 17 th asking for unemployment wage reports submitted to any state in US where employees were assigned

my consultant was quiet a nice guy to give all the docs as asked by embassy people .

on decmeber 11 , 2006

submitted the documents which were asked along with all the docs previously sent

then finally on january 4 , 2007 they send my passport with visa stamped .

This was experience with chennai counsulate .

Regarding H1B stamping - Incorrect DOB
Hi,

I got my H1B approval in August 06 and after that I got all my papers from my employer.

In my I-797 form 'Notice of Action' and in other documents, my DOB is incorrect.

After that my employer filled application at USCIS for DOB correction.

It almost 4 months but we dont get any update from USCIS.

Now I have booked date for interview and going for stamping with all documents that right now I have and DOB amendment which we have filled
for correction.

Is this fine ? Please let me know regarding this.

Thanks
Rizz
