H1B, H4 Visa

Hi All,
 First of all I would like to thank the users for posting detailed messages about the interview process. It helped us a lot to prepare ourselves for the interview. A big THANKS !!
 My interview was on the 26th of Dec'06 in Mumbai consulate and it went on like this
Me : Good Morning
VO : Good Morning , How are you ?
Me : Good , thanks
VO : Could you give me your petition paper?
Me : (Gave the petition papers)
VO : So what will you be doing in US?
Me : I will be working for xxx
VO : Do you know which city you will be working in and what is your job going to be ?
Me : told the name of the city and the job title along with a brief description. Kept it real short.
VO : Who will take care of your accomodation and expenses?
Me : My company will provide for initial accomodation and I will search for a apartment in the mean time.
VO : Have you worked in US before and what was your job then?
Me : Yes I have worked in US before and told in brief the clients and companies I worked with.
VO : Are you taking your family with you ?
Me : No , not right now but they will join me eventually.
VO : Which University did you study in and what was the degree?
Me : Mumbai/Bombay Univ, and the degree
VO : I am approving your visa, keep the petition with you during travel, the Immigration office might ask you for it when you enter US.
Me : Thank you !
 My interview was at 10.30 , I reached the consulate at 10.10 and I was done with interview and out of the consulate by 10.45 it was really quick.

I attended in Chennai consulate on 19th Oct and was queried for Client Letter along with some other documents.

I submitted the documents on 8th Nov in Hyderabad VFS office. I received my passport along with other documents on Dec 3rd and was queried again for Unemployment Wage reports of the state where I am going to work and for Tax returns.

Again I submitted the required documents in Hyderabad VFS office on Dec 18th and I received my passport with Visa stamped on Jan 4th.

be clear with ur passport.never go with damaged passport.as i did it i received 221(g),option as come with new passport.

Hi Friends I need sincere openion..I have done Bcom and MCA passed out 2005. I got H1-B approval. I don't have real time IT experince but I do have NON IT experience. I have supported experience letters offer letters. I am worried will there be a problem with my TAX filings..my employer send me all supported documetns , company tax forms...can any one suugest how to get thoruhg my visa processing..thanks in advance....

Hi all !!

I've been a regular visitor of this site since 5 months. Well about my experience. My Interview was scheduled

Date: Dec 22nd
Place: Delhi Embassy
Time: 1 pm

I reached the Embassy by 11. Waited outside for 5mins, then approached the security guy, showed the appointment letter
and he asked me to join the line straight away as there was no big rush. Next one of the VFS guys approached me and put my DS forms and I797 in my passport and asked me to go to another counter and submit only these documents. In that counter they sticked the yellow HDFC receipt and stapled my I-797 form to my passport.

Next I handed over my mobile to a security guy and he gave me a token, after that all my documents and bag was scanned. After that I entered inside the building and was asked to go for finger print scanning (Note: Left Index Finger FIRST then the Right index finger).

After this I was asked by the VFS guy to join the line, I joined the line and was observing each and every counter how the interview was going, what questions were been asked, there were 5 counters (Counter number: 9,10,11,12 & 13) for Non Immigrant Visa. There were 3 Male(All Americans) and 2 Female(1 American and 1 Indian) Visa officers.

From my observation what I saw was, the male VO's and the Indian Lady VO were asking many Questions, taking around 15 mins or more for each person, rejecting some and issuing some visa's and the American Lady VO was very fast in taking the interview, but she rejected 3 persons at a strecth. I was praying to god that I shouldn't be called by her, but then god had other plans in store for me, she called me and I the Interview went this way...

VO: Good Morning Sir
Me: Good Morning Mam

VO: Can I have your passport
Me: Slided in the PP, DS Forms and I-797

VO: So, Is this your first H1B
Me: Yes Mam!!

VO: How you got this job? ( Looking straight into my eyes)
Me: Through my Current job, as it handles the offshore requirements of my US Employer ( I said this very confidently looking into her eyes)

VO: How many employee's are working in the US Company
Me: Answered

VO: How many employee's are working in Indian Company
Me: Answered

VO: Oh..!! Pretty Small Organisation Sir
Me: Yes Mam.

VO: Do you have the tax returns of the US company
Me: Yes mam

VO:From Which University you graduated and what degree
Me: Bachelors in Computer Applications from Osmania University

VO: Can I see the certificates
ME: Yeah sure !! Slided them ( she just had a glance at them).
Then I said "Mam would you like to see the Tax returns document"

VO: Yeah
ME: Slided in 3 yrs Tax returns documents of my US Employer

VO: Just went through them very quickly and typed something on the computer.
Me: Just looking at her with a pleasant smile.

VO: Sir, your Visa is approved and your passport will be courierd to you in 2 working days.
Me: ThanK you mam.

I couldn't believe I got the visa and guess what all this conversation with the VO went for less than 2mins. She was asking me questions just like a Rapid Fire round. She was checking how confidently I was answering and showing relevant documents.

So guys, your Visa will depend mostly on how well you answer in the Interview rather than the documents you show. And have as many moc interviews as possible before you face the real one( I had 4 moc's).

I am yet to attend an interview..is it mandatory to have project specific documents...since I was told by my employer that I will be attending client interviews upon H-1 B approval and the same need to be conveyed to visa officer.So..kindly advise..

I got all the documents from my employer 1rst time on 24th Oct 06 and appeared consulate for interview on 3rd Nov 06.

After normal entry procedures, I reached counter no.4, one American fat (specs) lady VO.

VO: what are you going to do in this company?
ME: going to work as a Programmer Analyst.
VO: are you going to work in client place or in house project?
ME: am going to work in ZZZs internal product.
VO: typed something in her system, asked is it 18 employees company ?
ME: Exactly.
VO: Can I have the tax returns of the company?
ME: gave those.
VO: within 2 secs, she said from the Tax returns I can say they are not doing any internal product.
ME: No ma’am. Am sure they are developing this product.
VO: do u have any other documents related to this product?
ME gave all the docs related to product.
VO: nothing is there to prove that this product is developed by ZZZ. Do u have any patent copy of that product?
ME: No Ma’am.
VO: I can promise you they don’t have any product to employee you (YYY is not the product of this company, I think they are misleading you). They are going to put u in bench and once they get the client they will send u to the client place. So you are going to STUCKUP in U.S.
ME: listening all those stuffs.
VO: so you have to get all the(11 documents under petitioner) from your employer in this 221(g).
ME: OK
VO: once you get all the documents from your petitioner, you have to verify that whether you got all of them perfectly. If any one of the required document is missing, then your case will be rejected (said twice). Put all the documents in Drop Box address which is mentioned in this form.

* My employer provided all the 11 documents + product patent as a supporting doc, My employers docs are really geniune. I got all the documents after 1.5 months with some typo error(16.12.06), couple of days later I could able to get the revised documents(18.12.06). I reviewed all the documents nearly for a week, I found some more errors. I informed to my employer, He was really irritated. He replied they need some more time, they didn’t send any mails till now. I decided to change some of the documents by myself and I dropped at 11:45, 27th Dec 06. once I come back home I checked vfs site, showed “Your passport is not handed over to vfs yet, please contact local regional office”.
I checked the site next day as well, but no change. On 29th morning too, but around 11:30 AM I checked the site. I showed “Your PP is ready to be collected at local vfs center 1600-1700hrs, otherwise your PP will be dispatched to courier office”

I went to VFS to get my PP thru rush service. once i got my pack, I opened infront of the vfs´s one of the counters itself, I took my PP and checked... By god's grace I got my Visa...............................

hai friends i was attended the interview on 12 th may but vo officer given the blue paper 221 g after long days i.e. i mail from visa office telling that...please wait admin process yet to be complete............can any body got the same message from that vo....is there any possible of getting the visa......plz clarify..........friends.....plz
