As Yuppee said, it's better to get it done before ur travel.
In Hyd, u have a VFS center in Banajara Hills...
U can direclty go to them, and hand over ur PP....
n u need to pay the VFS fee, i think around Rs. 250...
n u can receive the PP in about two weeks.
It's the best way to check your VISA, PP n other required docs before ur travel...

There is no time limit like u asked, but u can enter any time before ur Visa gets expired.
For your info:
One more thing is that, u can stay in US for 6 years (u have to get it extended, which is not at all a problem) on H1B, and the 6 years period starts the day u step into US.
So, u'll loose nothing by entering late.

H1B - Issue With Previous Company Releaving Letter
Hi Everybody,
I am working for a good MNC. I received offer letter from another company which is a BEP(Business Executive Program). The company that is sponsoring H1B suggesting to tell that i have joined in the company few days back.
The issue is if the VO asks for previous company releaving letter, i would in trouble as i have not at resigned to it.
They suggested if they have to book the slot through BEP login Id, i have to tell the above.
If i want to continue with the genuine details, i have to book the slot myself instead of BEP login id. They were suggesting that with the BEP login there is better chance of getting the visa.
Though what they are saying is logically right, i am not impressed with that. I want to go ahead with the genuine details. The remaining every thing is genuine.
Please give me your valuable inputs ASAP

I am working in Pune for more than 2 years now. As in the H1 papers, the consulate was mentioned as Chennai,
I went to chennai initially. So now, can I go to Mumbai consulate again? That is, even after all the H1 papers
are at Chennai consulate, does I have an option of going to Mumbai consulate? Maybe after communicating to the Chennai
people to send my docs to Mumbai office.
What would be the procedure? How can I approach this? Please suggest me.

On Nov 2nd 2006, I appeared for my H1B visa interview in Delhi embassy.
It was very simple questions. My interview went on like this.
Me: good morning mam
Vo: very good morning
Vo: can I have the docs (stapled ds-156, 157, I-797, etc)
Me: I handed over the docs.
Vo: what’s your qualification?
Me: MCA
Vo: where did you finished MCA?
Me: I did my MCA in ZZZ.
Vo: can I see your MCA degree and marks sheets?
Me: handed over
Vo: you have any backlogs in MCA?
Me: no,I don’t have any backlogs.I completed all six semesters with first class with distinction
(I guess she is impressed by going thru all the docs)
Vo: what is your current company?
Me: xxx
Vo: how long have you been working in current company?
Me: for more than a year
Vo: which company you worked before xxx?
Me: yyy
Vo: howmany employees are there in US company?
Me: around 24
(by this time…I observed her she is not happy with the figure(no.of.employees)
Vo: can I see your offer letter?
Me: I handed over the offer letter
(may be she is expecting the offer letter should be a booklet type)
Vo: can I see your tax-returns of the employer?
Me: I don’t have it right now.
Then finally she issued a 221(g) form saying that you please carry all checked docs and visit embassy at any time and you no need to take any appointment.
My US employer sent all the docs which are mentioned in 221(g) form with very impressible format. I re attended interview on December 14th 2006 without book any appointment.
Guys, you can attend anytime in business days, nothing like 2 to 4 pm.
You should carry Ds-156 with your photo stapled, ds-157, passport, I-797,221(g) form and go to counter # 5 or 6 directly. They will staple all the docs and give it to you then you can proceed to the interview hall.
My turn is at 4 pm on 14th 2006
Me: good afternoon sir
Vo: very good afternoon.
Me: I handed over the stapled docs
Vo: can I see your tax forms?

Vo: took some time to go thru it

Experience Please reach there say 2 hrs before because there are in total three queue and they dont care at what time your appointment is they allow you to stand in queue by the time your turn will come it will be two hours

After that comes the finger print there two counters are wher foreigners are sitting they take your finger prints and can ask few questions too but that is very often that they ask any thing they are more concerned with taking prints
Last stage is meeting Visa officer please be sure that you have all the documents like
DS 156 , DS 157 , I-787 , LCA , I 197 , Offer Letter , Company picture , Web Site print out , Bank statement (Yours) Work Exp and Educational certificate all original and one photostat no fake docu please . For H4 - Marriage Certificate , Few photes from album ,
The only thing you should have is confidence and visa will be yours Talk sence and with a good command and speak less and whats needed /asked ...that will help dont be nervous . Go thorough your offer letter your salary est

I just want to share my wonerful experience ,i guess this exp will help someone and boost the confidence level when ur visa is under admin process.
Actually i have attended US embassy in UK for H1B, for some reason they want me to attend in india i.e chennai.
I took appointment for interview i.e on nov 16th 2005 then VO asked me to get some additional documents and i took the additional Docs and went for interview on jan 12th 2006, VO was not satisfied with my docs.So i took additional Docs from my employer and posted in Drop Box.After long wait i got email from US embassy asking for Passport.
WHich i posted and i got visa stamped.
What i suggest u guys dont give up try until u an.
But the credit i give to my visa is MR Bhaskar Ravi who supported me when i was not sure what to do.
I thank him for supporting me.
