Can I use my sibling bank account statement/ passport copy/ credit card statement for indian appress proof for address to be printed on my passport?

Your application will be reviewed with 48-72 business hours. You are requested to track the status of your application after 2-3 business days.

No update since. Unable to track using the reference number - getting an error - "invalid inputs". Anyone in similar situation?

I am planning to apply for my passport renewal and have question regarding address proof.

I have my relatives address on my current passport (I was living with them back then) and now I want to add the same address to my passport but was wondering if we need to submit address proof for the same address in passport. I had bank account at the address back then but it is inactive as of now.

Any information regarding this would be really helpful and I would really appreciate!

My passport renewal package was delivered to SFO VFS on 26th Jan 2021. Since then I haven't received any update from VFS if the application is received or not. Generally they send an email that your application has been processed with 2-3 days. I tried contacting VFS SFO and they said that they are backlogged and are processing applications from 15th Jan 2021.

Is anyone else in the same boat ?

Application mailed to CKGS - 7th Oct 2020
CKGS started processing - 13th Oct 2020
CKGS forwarded the application to NY consulate - 14th Oct 2020

No progress after that. Status is shown as - "Passport application is under review at Indian Embassy/consulate".

I logged multiple PRAMIT queries, called PRAMIT helpline, emailed to embassy, tweeted, logged MADAD grievance but unable to get the status at all on my application.

Only once I got an email to explain why i need DOB change. I replied but application is stuck even after that.

Looks like my application is buried deep inside the case loads or they have forgotten that I exist. I am without passport for 4+ months now and deeply worried now.

Can anyone advice how should I proceed?

2/9-> received old and new passport.

guys looks like update via text not working accurately...please check status in passport india site and vfs site for updated information

02/05/2021 -- I have received any email from VFS on stating "Your document (s) is dispatched using the return label purchased or sent by you. "
02/08/20201 -- I don't see any update on the Fedex return label tracking id it still says "The delivery date may be updated when FedEx receives the package."

Does it take few days for Fedex to pickup the passport? if not , what is the best way to contact VFS for proper update.

Notes: Even after applying for Tatkal processing the VFS delayed in processing my application. Also, on 3rd Feb they send me a message saying my application has been dispatched but they did not dispatch it before 5th Feb in the evening. FedEx site showed "Duplicate results found: More than one shipment was found with the following tracking number(s). Please click on the tracking number(s) below to find your shipment" after 3 days the VFS said they dispatched my application. DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY BY CALLING THE VFS SUPPORT TEAM as they will only repeat what you can see online, they will not provide you a single more information other than that. Really not happy with the services that were provided by VFS, as they started processing my application after 10days(normal days not working days) after FedEx delivered my application to them and in their site it showed me no application/inputs found till 24th Feb and I was worried about that, called the customer support guys they only said wait for few more days. Also, lastly did not receive any email for Police Verification.

Hope this is helpful to anyone who is worried about their application of Passport Renewal getting Delayed.
